I liked the selection of products that’s being sold. It reminds me of a upgraded rugged wear house. Membership is free and it gives you discounts on every purchase. Elderly get discounts also. Really great store, will be going back.

Honestly I’ve never heard of Burke’s I was walking down the sidewalk to go to Old Navy when I came upon this store. Well it looks new, it seems to have women’s clothing, I’m right here so I might as well stop on in and check it out. My initial thought when I walked in was hey a new TJ Maxx. First i must say I am a really good bargain shopper, I absolutely hate the mall and will do anything I can to avoid it. But give me a good discount store and I’m all over it. Well Burke’s didn’t really do it for me. The store was well organized which is a plus for a discount store however it is brand new so I would expect everything to be in order. I like the way the store is laid out it’s easy to navigate. There was a nice section full of handbags and accessories. They also have a kitchen section, home goods, clothing for men and women including juniors and infants. As I started browsing through the clothes though I noticed there were no brand names I recognized. The clothes looked and felt cheap. I was on the search for a new pair of boots and they didn’t seem to sell any shoes here. The women’s clothing section was disappointing and I probably won’t be back here to shop. Most of the tops and sweaters I picked up were around $ 12.99 and if I took the time I’m sure I could have found something. But this girl would much rather shop at a Marshalls or a TJ Maxx before Burke’s.

The Beall’s company recently opened one of its outlet brand stores, Burke’s. It’s a decent store for reasonably priced and reduced price, mostly off-brand, items. Unlike its competition though, the employees here actually seem pleasant and glad to be working. Maybe it’s because the store is still new and shiny, but I’d like to think they’ve actually focused on customer service. In the jewelry section one employee helping an elderly wheel-chair bound woman find the perfect necklace, took the time to tell her why the color or style was good, or not-so-good. And she made several trips back and forth from the displays. That impressed me. It’s easy to move around here, the aisles are wide enough to allow two carts, and the displays are neatly arranged. Of course, it seemed as though there was an employee who visually kept watch over every section and quickly re-organized any section of the store in which a customer had been shopping. In a way it was a little creepy, and I’m not certain that level of service will remain after the opening buzz. For now, it’s a nice touch and makes it appear as though you’re the first one in that section. Most of the styles are middle-of-the-road but still current. Each section — housewares, shoes, accessories, and clothing — are easily visible with the large signs hanging from the ceilings and the smaller signs within each section. Overall, Burke’s Outlet is an okay store with a lot of potential. It will either maintain customer focus or become like its messier, ornerier, junkier competition. That would be too bad.
