My 10 year old daughter’s precious pink blankie had come unraveled and damaged because of 10 years of love. My late grandmother made this blanket for my daughter and she sleeps with it every night. We went to Michelle at DownTown Knits to see if she would be able to repair the blanket so it would not end up a pile of yarn. Michelle took great care in thinking about what would be the best way to repair the blanket. One week later, we picked the blanket up and it looked as good as new. I was so happy I nearly cried in her shop! DownTown Knits is a treasure not just because of its wonderful yarn selection, knitting classes and accessories, but because of the kind and generous heart of its owner.

I was passing thru town on business and was delighted to find this amazing LYS in Apex. I was able to meet the owner, Michele, who was most friendly and very helpful. She has a beautiful selection of yarn and accessories and plenty of samples. She even carries local yarns. Her shop is bright and beautiful and very well organized. She has several spacious areas for groups to gather and knit. If I lived nearby, I would definite spend my time knitting in her large, but cozy shop…
