Amazing! I got subtle highlights in my hair and a cut, and my hair turned out amazing. I have had too many hair cuts from places where they have butchered my hair, and I have finally found a place that I can trust to get my hair cut and colored. I’m singing their praises!

Love, love, love this place! Got a great haircut and made an appointment to come back again. My new favorite place to go!

Not a good place at all — the staff is ridiculously unorganized. I made an appointment last summer for a Shellac manicure (kj Hair Spa is one of the few salons near me that actually carries Shellac polish).
Despite receiving an appointment confirmation via email from them, they «forgot» that their Shellac nail technician was NOT scheduled to be at the salon during my appointment. So I arrived to the appointment, only to have the employees ignore me for 20 minutes before they finally figured out what went wrong. To make matters worse, they barely apologized for their mistake and asked me to come back hours later to meet with the Shellac technician, during the time she WOULD be in the salon. I eventually did this, out of sheer desperation to have a Shellac manicure. The manicure itself went well, and I was pleased with the work — however their customer service and organizational skills left a lot to be desired.
Fast forward to Summer 2012 — I’d like to get another Shellac manicure (I don’t get them often) for my visit home to California. I question whether or not I should go back to kj Hair Spa, but decide to give them a second chance because 1. they did good work the first time and 2. the next closest (and decent) Shellac salon to me is in downtown Raleigh, and I live in Apex.
I receive an appointment confirmation via email from the salon just like last time. However, unlike last time, about 1 hour before my appointment I get a frantic voice mail from the nail technician stating that her son was having a foot problem and she had to go to meet him at an urgent care facility. She told me that she would try to schedule me for another same day appointment an hour later from the first meeting time we had scheduled — and that I should call her cell phone upon receiving her message. I called her cell, and ended up leaving her a voice mail, trying to be understanding of the situation — and asked her to call me back when she had the opportunity to, so we could reschedule.
She never called me back. Lesson learned. Avoid this place if you value decent customer service and people respecting your time.
