Very nice liquor store with a fantastic wine selection. I love that you can buy a $ 5 wine, and a lovely bottle of Silver Oak Cabernet, all at the same place. The store is very clean, and if you buy a case of wine, you can get a nice discount.

After my horrible experience with Lakeville Liquors down the road on Kenrick Avenue(see my other review), I was extremely surprised at my experience here. My 23 year old friend stayed in the car out of fear she’d be turned down again with her non-driver’s license ID(see my other review) but she said she’d made purchases at this particular store before. While the prices are still steep(it’s suburbia, what did I expect?), the lady at the check out was the sweetest person! I was feeling over exposed in my Halloween party costume while out in public –particularly due to the experience at the other store — and she could sense that and made me feel more at ease simply by being friendly at check out. After the sour experience down the road, it was such an unexpected and pleasant surprise!

This is totally worth mentioning to the world. On October 9th2010, my boyfriend and I purchased about $ 90 worth of Saturday night fun fare at this nice liquor store. One item we purchased is the new vodka infused vanilla whipped cream by «Cream». We were ready for a fun night! Fast forward about an hour, we each tried a small mouthful of this delicious whipped cream, then the canister went limp. We hardly sampled the stuff before the canister ceased to function properly. Bummer! $ 11 down the drain! I kept thinking about this in the days that followed. I don’t have $ 11 to throw away, but if I drive all the back to Lakeville(we live in Mpls), I’d probably spend as much in gas. I spoke with manager(I assume) Scott Swanson and told him what happened. I explained I didn’t want to drive back to Lakeville just for $ 11, but I also can’t forget about it. So, what to do? Scott got a hold of the representative for said whipped cream, gave him my information, and days later(today, actually) I was personally face to face with one David Roe, rep for Cream. Not only did this nice man replace my Vanilla whipped cream can(which was probably just not shaken enough, or whatever), but he also gave me a caramel flavor as well– FULLSIZE bottles, which by the way, function perfectly. I thought this experience was the epitomy of customer service, starting right from the source, Apple Valley Liquor. Thank you Scott and David, it’s good to know there are decent people out there who understand consumerism, return business, and quality service. Unilocalers, next time you are over by Pilot Knob, swing by this fine establishment and buy some liquor from Scott, and don’t forget the«CREAM», yum! Now that’s good Karma :)
