So I just got back from my fact finding mission @ Fanciwerks Yarn Shoppe. I have wanted to stop in and check out the shop, but have not found the time. I was THRILLED with what I found. The shoppe is lovely and inviting, and the yarn selection did not disappoint. The owner Lynn was friendly and helpful, and said I could come in on Saturdays and sit and knit/crochet while the shop is open… just what I was looking for! I am now on the hunt for a new project to start and am excited about going in and picking out some lovely yarn!

Absolutely amazed when I walked in! After 29 yrs in the high desert I’ve become accustomed to not expecting much from local places, but this was really a shocker! 5 rooms of yarns I’ve only ever seen on the internet. Not the cheapest, but if you’re truky looking for something special to make your project with, then spend some time in this lovely shop!

I love this store! My first visit was last week, and the owner Lynn was so sweet and helpful! She took the time to explain various yarns and recommend patterns that were appropriate for my skill level(complete beginner). The yarn selection is unbelievable! I was so excited to walk away with a stunning alpaca yarn that is as soft as it is beautiful. Yes, the prices are slightly higher than stores like Micheal’s or Joann’s, but I would much rather spend a little extra to not only support a local artisan business, but also get the amazing knowledge and customer service that these ladies offer. I can’t wait to go back!

I am so grateful to have Fanciwerks Yarn in Apple Valley. It is my home away from home. They have open knitting on Wednesdays which I look forward to weekly. It is a delight to spend time with others knitting and Lynn is the sweetest. The yarn selection is amazing from affordable to luxurious. I highly recommend it. We are blessed to have such a delightful store in our community!

This is the best yarn store I have ever been in — one, because Lynn has so much yarn it makes my head spin, two, Lynn and Brenda are two of the most fabulous people I have ever met — they are both so knowledgeable about anything having anything to do with yarn, and three, because I always get a big hug from both of them when I walk in… I’ve decided… Im moving in :)

This lovely store certainly lives up to the rave reviews that caused me to pay a visit. I opened the door to huge smiles and warm greetings from the proprietor. I was welcomed in and asked immediately if I had anything in particular I needed help with. The yarn selection is indeed huge and smartly priced. I was even able to find a cotton elastic blend, which is amazingly hard to find, for a lingerie pattern I’ve been wanting to try for years. Patterns and pattern books are well stocked and up to date. They also offer lots of classes, including a «mistakes» class, which I think is awesome. I very much wish I lived closer than the coast! If you are from anywhere around here in the high dessert, make the trip. It’s charming as can be.

I won some gift certificates to this store at the San Bernardino County Fair and since they were an hour away from me I’ve been dragging my heels in going up there. Wow, I’ll never make that mistake again, in fact I’m trying to figure out how I can get up there on Wednesdays to knit with the ladies up there. Lynn is amazing. I got there at about 4:45pm and the store was scheduled to close at 5om. She graciously showed my me around the store pointing out new inventory looking for substitutions to what I was looking for, getting patterns for me, checking the back for yarn that wasn’t out on the floor. I have been to many a yarn store and this place is so comfy and warm that I wanted to just sit down and start working on a project right there. There was a good mix of luxury yarn, and more affordable yarn as well. There’s some fun and funky yarn(ie banana silk or sugar cane) along with the elegance of cashmere and smooshy malabrigo. I HIGHLY recommend this store and will absolutely be back(probably to add to my stash)

Beautiful inventory. Comparable prices. However, the service is top notch.

I love this yarn shop. Beautiful selection of yarns, and they will order what you need if they do not have it. The people there are lovely and knowledgeable, and always have been able to steer me in the right direction when I have had a question about needles or patterns or whatnot.

I found this yarn shop on Ravelry and am so glad I did. First of all, the owner is as sweet as a southern iced tea. The store is small and somewhat overwhelming, in a good way. There was so much variety and some really exquisite yarn, I felt like a letch running my hands up and down the skeins. They also offer reasonably priced classes and a free knit day on Wednesdays where you can come in and knit or crochet. I really loved the inventory and atmosphere.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise in the quiet high desert community! This shop has a beautiful selection of yarns. Mostly specializing in luxury yarns, but plenty of Lamb’s Pride and Cascade along with rows and rows of sock yarn. I was really amazed at the pattern books and magazines as well. Not many yarn shops have the latest Vogue, IK, Knitters and others. She had a copy of the new Debbie Bliss magazine as well!
