I definitely prefer the Cedar location over the Pilot Knob location. It’s not a matter of customer service or products or anything else. First, I think a lot of it is just me — I happen to know exactly where everything is in this location. But second, I’ve come to «know» some of the regular employees, although I don’t know their names, but I love seeing the same people over and over and I know they’re always willing and happy to help if I need it. There’s really only two«negatives» that I would say about Target, and it’s Target as a whole, not just this location. I think another reviewer hit on one of them — sometimes they don’t carry the most random products. For the longest time I had to get canadian bacon elsewhere. I kept talking to the meat guy about it, and he would always say«I know, I know, I know». Then one day they suddenly carried it! The other«negative» is that they don’t open until 8am. I realize they have to balance costs and sales, so I don’t expect them to open just for me who likes to shop before sunrise. It’s just a little thing, and I face it with most places I shop, so no big deal. The positives by far outweigh the negatives in my mind, so I will always be a Target-Cedar Ave customer. Although, watch out Target, HyVee is coming to Apple Valley! :)

Target, despite its peculiarities, has become a phenomenal place to shop. To clarify, this is a Super Target expanded from a «Greatland» I think. Throwing the negatives out there first, Target does have that strange way of not carrying something just because. If you know any bit of retail, it’s typically a space available thing. Target seems to take it one step farther at times, changing up the planogram(where everything sold is placed on the shelf) in a confusing manner. They also need some help with what’s kept in the stock room. For example, my daughter uses a certain hair product that Target sells. We’ve seen that spot on the shelf empty for weeks, yes weeks, even after asking about the status of it. «We have twelve in stock…» Somewhere. So how about those positives? Yes this is about me and mine, however Target is getting more and more gluten free items. And surprise surprise, they are selling. We are saving money by shopping at Target over the co-op. It seems finally that vendors are convincing Target to offer non traditional over brand name goods. Also, more organic goods are being sold. But here’s the big thing that has greatly improved, customer service. If I can describe for you how good it felt to have Andy, he’s the disabled cat in the motorized wheelchair, track you down with that one item he couldn’t quite find for you a 10 minutes earlier, it’ll brighten your and anyone’s day. That’s been several months ago and it still makes me smile. This is not an isolated event however. The vast majority of Target reps(at this store) I’ve interacted with have been super helpful. With all the competition close to Target, there’s a reason why I’m the«Duke» for shopping here.

I don’t think it’s right that if you get there 10min before opening you will notice most of the employees park in the front parking spots. Bad customer service in my opinion

I decided to review this Super Target as the only other review seemed«incorrect» in assessment. I find this Target(located near the Best Buy and Coles Salon in the heart of Apple Valley to be busy, but it is also well-stocked, well-organized and clean. The produce looked fresh although I personally did not buy any produce this trip. Like many of the Target locations, there is an onsite Starbucks as well. I might be biased as my ‘usual’ Target stores are in Northern Virginia. Unequivocally, I can tell Target Corporation is headquartered in Minnesota! There is a certain pride or possibly better oversight that comes with having a store headquartered locally and it shows in the overall store appearance and employees level of engagement. Consistently one of my favorite visits while in Minnesota.

This Target is HUGE, but the drawback(in my opinion) is the location. Located right in downtown Minneapolis, you have to deal with traffic almost all the time and the store is usually busy. I prefer the Pilot Knob location.

Alright. SO… lets just start of by saying the Target company as a whole gets 5 stars. I am in LOVE with Target. But 2 times I’ve had HORRIBLE customer experiences with their staff at this location. One of the times I’m checking out, I’ve got 3 banks and couldn’t remember which debit card had money on it. I pulled the card I use most often out, swiped it, and it didn’t go through… knowing I had plenty of money on my remanding two debit cards I go to pull one out of my wallet … the cashier, VERY loudly goes«OOOOOOOOOHGIIIIIIIIIIRL, YOURCARDGOTDECLINNNNNED.» Loud enough that half way in Target you could have heard her. I told her I had another card and asked her to reset the card machine. She said«I hope this card don’t get declined too! That’s awkward.» I almost flat out just left when she said that. but I needed what I was purchasing and so I paid and left. I avoid her line every time I see her now.
