Excellent pizza, excellent service every time. They even took the kids behind the counter and let them help make the pizza.

The worst experience ever! The old lady behind the counter followed me out and called me names In front of my children and after waiting for inordinate amount of time for the pizza! She actually yelled down the street with my children as witnesses. Terrible experience and all over their inability to accept payment with a credit card. We have always used pizza king and now will never use this brutal make shift establishment.

Have not been to Frank’s Pizza Palace for a few years, but as usual was not disappointed. My wife was ahead of me and the waitress was very accommodating as far as timing the pizza to come out when I would arrive. I sat down, the waitress came right over and got my drink order. Then a few moments later, out came the pizza — great thin crust — plenty of toppings. Then, they even had our to go order ready right when we finished. Pretty much flawless timing. I’d recommend this place to anyone. Enjoy!!!

We were excited to try this place. We were waited on quickly — great start. Salad bar had homemade salads(cucumbers done two different ways — very good) and the house dressing is great. Salad bar price is pricey for the selection — at least discount the price with an order! Garlic bread was over-priced and not good. Pizza arrived quickly. And then the wheels came off of the bus. Pizza sauce was good, but crust was soggy. The pizza itself was fine — just, fine. We expected a lot better. Thin crust — yay — thin, soggy crust — not so good. The waitress walked past us once and asked if she should get a refill for my Daughter’s drink. I said yes. We didn’t see our waitress until we were finished with our food… stacked our own dishes and waited… and waited… and waited. No refill appeared for our Daughter. We were going to order a cannoli(it was our Daughter’s birthday — and we had brought gifts in with us), but after waiting so long for service, our Daughter just wanted to leave. We attempted to pay our bill — and were told«No cards — only cash.» THAT would have been nice to know before we decided on this place. Not impressed enough to try this place again.

Not anywhere near as good as Cranky Pat’s pizza! It had a very strange flavor to it and I do not think it was cooked all the way. For over $ 20 it should have been much better. Very disappointed I have been told it was once great! Not anymore. Also, one of the male«servers» was crabbing at a girl that worked there to not«just stand there». Well she was waiting for the register to ring up a bill. What a jerk he was to her!

I feel like this is one of those restaurants that people who grew up with it love it and the outsiders are wondering why. Don’t get me wrong the pizza was good but it just wasn’t great. The décor inside was dated, the pizza was greasy, and you have to pay with cash. I may eat there again but since Appleton has a pizza place on every block it won’t be for awhile.

We’ve had pizza here many times and have come to listen to jazz on Tuesday nights. This time we ordered delivery and had chicken parmesan, came with salad, side of pasta with super meat sauce and half a loaf of bread. Delivery was quick, food good as ever.

Had a group of 8 here last night before a show at the PAC, which included my elderly grandmother. Three pizzas, 2 orders of garlic bread and sodas was about $ 90. The restaurant was HOT, like a little sweltering. The atmosphere and décor were pretty dank. Garlic bread came as four halves, for 8 people. Had to ask for a knife to cut it. It was extremely greasy and not much flavor. I would not recommend. The three pizzas were larges, a mush/onion, mush/onion/sausage and a sausage. The crusts were flimsy and soggy, and even thought I love toppings, were a bit overloaded when it came to the mush/onions. I’d say pretty mediocre in the taste department. We had to ask for the check, which wasn’t totaled. Obviously, trying to split between 8 people, a total would have been helpful. The waitress refused to get a total for us, telling me they would handle it at the register. Helpful. Sure, we’ll take our table of 8 and go stand directly in the doorway in front of the cash register to figure out what we all owe and dig out our cash. Not well organized and not at all accommodating. Not to mention that both my husband and I have spent a good deal in the bathroom paying for last nights pizza, this morning. I think next time we’ll just head to Stuc’s!

OMG!!! we could not BELIEVE how DELICIOUS this pizza is!!! Just thinking about it now as I write this is making me want to order one tonight. I am not kidding, the Frank’s Special was so unbelievable delicious we devoured it in minutes!!! How wonderful to have a pizza like this right here in Appleton. HANDSDOWN this is the best pizza we’ve had since we moved here 4 years ago! If you love thin crust and you miss the pizza you had when you were a kid, you are going to think you died and went to heaven when you eat this pizza!

Expensive delivery. Well worth it for delicious hot Napoli style Pizza. I’ve had their pizza three times. I started with the Frank’s Special. It was way too much. Way too much sausage n way too many mushrooms. Next a pizza with anchovies, mushrooms and pepperoni. Delicious! It was perfect for the crust and sauce. I’ve added olives n it couldn’t get any better if it tried. It’s my one n only guilty pleasure. Yumm yumm

Just moved to Appleton area and had a craving for pizza, so with the reviews we settled on Franks Pizza Palace. And what better to do than order Franks Special when trying the new place out? The service was quick and friendly, and the décor is pretty neat. Though the chairs were very uncomfortable. When the pizza(described as a double sausage and mushroom with two other toppings. we added peperoni and onion) came out, it was all about the mushroom. It was all you could see. Even after scraping most of them off; the mushroom flavor overwhelmed the rest of the pizza. And the crust was soggy. Which isn’t desirable for a thin crust. When adding the price, which came to 37 bucks for the pizza and 2 beers. it just wasn’t worth it. If you’re trying to find a new pizza joint, I’d skip past this one.

My fiancé and I were a bit underwhelmed after reading all of the great reviews here. Being new in town, we are loving trying new spots, but overall Frank’s was just ok tonight. The lack of free refills, no jalapeños as a pizza topping, cash only, and rather dull atmosphere were the noted downsides. As for atmosphere, if they’re going to just play the Brewers game loudly on the radio it’d be nice to have a few TVs. Also, as first timers it wasn’t overly clear that we had to seat ourselves and since our receipt was hidden below the pizza we didn’t know that we had to pay at the front when finished or that it was cash only. I’d eat here again as the pizza and garlic bread were pretty good, but it isn’t a destination for us like other made it seem to be.

Fantastic thin crust! I would highly recommend it. Just make sure to bring cash as they don’t accept cards.

Really good pizza. Best in Appleton and we’ve tried them all. Don’t believe the bad reviews. Crust is solid, and the homemade sausage is king.

Three of us went for valentines day. We had the Franks special. Large pizza with onions, mushrooms, and sausage. It was ok. We all agreed it needed more sauce. My girlfriend wasn’t a fan of the burnt crust but I didn’t bother me. The price was kinda steep for 1 pizza and water to drink. $ 30 plus tip and a additional $ 2 charge to use the ATM because they are cash only. So all together it came to $ 37.

Frank’s has good pizza! There, I said it. The thin crust is a little greasy for my tastes, but the crust and sauce are excellent. The service isn’t great. I went there with my dad and we ended up having to flag down our waiter for the check because he never came back to check on us and a lot of time had passed. The pizza is delicious, but this did detract a little from our dining experience at Frank’s. Our water never was re-filled, either. After trying almost every pizza offered at restaurants in Appleton, I’ve concluded the best is Stuc’s, but Frank’s is certainly up there. These are quality pizzas and all Appleton residents need to try it at least once! Note: Even though I found the thin crust to be a little greasy, I definitely prefer it to Cranky Pat’s!

Frank’s has been a family gathering spot since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. Every time I visit my family in Kimberly, I beg to dine here. I just can’t get enough. So, when I brought my boyfriend to a family gathering we stopped by for a pie or two — and ten, fifteen years later, it’s still just as delicious. There is always a sausage and mushroom pie on our table — the sauce, the seasoning(AAAAHHHH) so, so good! And let me tell you, even my boyfriend was in awe of the pizza the first time. He’s a New Yorker, born and raised, and very picky about his pizza — he should be he tries a ton of pizza, a pizza expert, if you will. His only concern was the small squares the pizza was cut into — he just didn’t get that. He would have loved a traditional«slice». But flavor and crust were all on par for him. I would like to say that while I love everything about Franks, and it is certainly an Appleton Institution in my book, I missed the cartoons projected on the big screen in the back of the restaurant. There was just something awesome about cartoons and delicious salty, greasy, tastier-than-all-get-out pizza.

Good pizza. Canollis were ok. Very cool décor. Don’t miss the interesting outside storefront. The reason for the lower stars was the staff on our visits had some attitude. While visiting our friends, we stayed for a while after our pizza, and all the service stopped. No more water, drinks. Guess it was time to go. Really, if you keep serving us we will tip you better, but the lack of service & dirty looks killed it for you. Parking outfront on street. Not sure of any other parking.

Every town of Appleton’s size has one of these. In my hometown of Iowa City, IA it’s Pagliai’s Pizza. A local, small business mom and pop stop that’s been around since Eisenhower. Frank’s filled in that gap for me when I left home for school at LU. While Sal’s has emerged as a much closer and cheaper option for slices, Frank still holds its own! The fun family ambiance is great for nights out with the fam, friends or even a casual date spot. We used to come here after football games. The pizza is top notch — and greasy like I dig it. They have the mini gourmet pepperoni’s which any true pizza fan can appreciate. They also have the ground sausage. Serving booze nightly and I’ve gotten drunk as well as full there many times. Good $
