I love their yellow curry. During a holiday visit to Wisconsin, we enjoyed food from Mai’s at least three times. I couldn’t get enough.

Best phở and egg rolls in town! Just wish they were open on Sunday’s! There are many times we crave it on a Sunday. Prices are very reasonable too.

Appleton’s little Hmong secret. Stuffed chicken wings is the best and probably the only thing you need to order. The chicken’s grilled perfectly and it’s not greasy. I also like their drunken noodle, which I always order with beef and tofu, as well as extra spicy. Hand’s down, best Asian restaurant in the Fox Valley area, and I would even say the state of Wisconsin!

Food was good. Stuffed wings stand up to the reputation. Crab Rangoon could be rated among the top shelf. Red Curry and fried rice are good too. Ambience has a little room for upgrade.

I’m so glad I’ve found this place, seriously. I love Thai and Viet food compared to greasy Chinese. I don’t cook ever and I stay up here for work, so finding a good place to go regular was important to me. I’ve tried most of the things. I think the food is very clean and healthy. Presentation is good. I was kind of scared to try the stuff chicken but after trying it. I’m hooked! it’s sooooo delicious make me think of my dad because it taste like something he made before. They make bomb curry so try all. Everyone makes the phở broth different their is okay for me, I get it once in a while. I’m a picky eater, if I had a bad first time i would never come back but Mias have not disappointed me. Parking is limited, might have to park in the back but who cares, is only like 3 min walk. I like the place because is simple and clean. It doesn’t have all those crap having on the walls like those fat smiling Chinese baby calendar you see at the Chinese restaurants. I go to places to enjoy the food and relax not to see nonsense on the walls. But I like Mias and so happy is close by my place. :) They do a great job at serving and have good customer service. I always get a Thai ice tea, if you have never tired. Try it! You will love it!

A hole in the wall eatery? Well, it’s located by a main road but anyway my kind of place! Food was pretty good and service was with a smile. Ordered stuffed chicken wings(never had it and it tasted good but as if it had been sitting out for a little while). Crab rangoon, nothing special, pretty greasy. The udon noodles with green beans and beef had a little kick to it, it was good! The basil fried rice with chicken was really good. So glad to have found this place. Been looking for good Asian eats and this one is out of the way for me but I’ll be back!

This place is insane in the membrane. Coming from Singapore, I know my Southeast Asian food. For appetisers, we had Vietnamese spring rolls, fried egg rolls and stuffed chicken wings. They were all crazy good, especially the stuffed wings. For entrees, we had basil fried rice and green curry. The green curry wasn’t too sweet or salty like the other Thai places, which was refreshing. The basil fried rice was mind blowing. Definitely recommend getting the fried rice here. We also had Thai iced tea which was good as usual. As we were leaving, we got an egg roll to go and the owner gave us one more on the house. How good is this place? Appleton is amazing because of this place.

I just moved up from Chicago and was really excited to find this place, which gives me my Thai/Vietnamese fix and is super affordable. Their basil fried rice kind of changed my life, but everything else I’ve had is also delicious!

So delicious! I had Udon noodles with shrimp. Good amount of spice and flavor. My boyfriend tried the pad thai and beef fried rice. He’s very picky and he loved both. Polite, fast service. The décor is nothing special but with food like this, who cares? I will definitely be back.

The food here is great. I’m so happy I found this place in appleton. Coming to Wisconsin, I was afraid I was going to miss asian food but this restaurant has been a great find. I’ve had phở and squash curry in two different ocassions and the flavors are just great. I can’t finish their curry in one seating but it still tastes great reheated the next day. Just a heads up. This is not a fancy restaurant by any means. It’s a very simple locale with honest food. The waitress that’s always there is very nice and gives good service.

Having moved out of Appleton a few years ago, Mai’s is one of the places I always get the craving to visit whenever I go back. Their stuffed chicken wings are phenomenal, and everything else I’ve ever ordered there has been good, too. I recommend the combo platter: it’s a great deal, and you get to try a couple different things(including the chicken wings).

I was not expecting to find this in Appleton. Fresh food, great seasoning, and quick service. Don’t worry about the décor, because you won’t be looking at anything but the food. The only thing that is disappointing is that it’s difficult to get to right on the corner where it is. That doesn’t take anything away from the great food.

A true breath of fresh air. Mai’s is a tiny place with only 7 tables. The look is nothing special but the food is made fresh and tastes wonderful. Had the stuffed chicken wing which is a very unique appetizer not found many places. It is deboned and stuffed with rice noodles and shredded vegetables. It is nicely seasoned. The Pad See Ew was very good. Could use a few more bean sprouts but very close to perfect. Service was very good. I will be back again soon

I was very pleased with Mai’s. The parking is limited but the lot next door is available(though not theirs). It’s a smaller set up with about 7 – 8 small tables. I was skeptical at first but hopeful. I ended up getting one of the currys that wasn’t listed as hot. I also got a Phở dish and stuffed chicken wing. Everything I had was very good. The staff was very friendly and you could tell they have a solid clientele base from their familiarity with customers coming in. I really look forwards to going back!

Was looking for a place to eat near my hotel that wasn’t bar food. Stop by and ordered the stuffed wings. Wow is what I can say. A new twist to a favorite dish. Also ordered the shrimp fried rice. It was tasty except the peas and carrots. Not my favorite in fried rice but was tasty enough to eat.

Spring rolls were really weird and chewy and the pad thai was quite unfortunate. Also, I got a slimey old lime. That’s a bad sign for freshness and cleanliness. I would like to take an extra star off for that.

The outside of the building seemed renovated. Parking is very limited. You may have to park in the back alley. When you enter the restaurant, you’re greeted by a menu wall with a person behind the cashier and a hot food display that’s filled with egg rolls and stuffed chicken wings. Seating is also limited. I would say no more than 12 people at a time. My group was 6. The person behind the cashier told us to order and pay before we could sit. The menu ranges from egg rolls to crab Rangoon to start, phở, several other noodle dishes, with rice platters, and drinks. Quickly I ordered an egg roll(since people raved about it), spring rolls, and a Phở regular. My husband got the Phở Combo. I must say, all the food tasted homemade. Not in a good way. In a way that I could make better home cooked meals but I’m just too lazy to. The egg roll was crispy. The filling was full of bean thread glass noodles more than anything. Typical Hmong egg roll. I’m a Vietnamese egg roll fan which consists of more meat and flavor. My husband’s Phở combo($ 7.50) had 2 – 3 medium shrimps, nothing else. I don’t understand why it’s a combo. Note: Phở regular is $ 6.75, if you don’t want to pay 75 cents for 2 – 3 shrimps, pass on the combo. Phở broth was oily and bland. Again, something I could of made at home. The spring rolls filling had vermicelli noodles, basil, cilantro, lettuce, shrimp, and what looked like carved meat. It wasn’t bad. The dipping sauce was peanut-y hoison sauce. Overall, it was fresh and delicious. I gave it a star for the cleanliness, a star that they shifted their tables to accommodate 6 people on a busy Saturday afternoon, and a star for their prices. Other than that, after we were served our food our waters were not refilled nor did they check on us. I would come back again to try the rice platters. I would perhaps buy something to go.
