Martins College of Cosmetology

This place recently became part of the «Empire» cosmetology college chain. I’m not sure what that means, exactly, but it seems to be running just the same as I remember.

Good, cheap haircuts — $ 8 – 10 or something like that. As with all schools, you run the risk of something not turning out well at the hand of an inexperienced student, but if you’re just looking for a trim this place can do just fine.
I’ve had some of the MOST relaxing head massages here — they seem to go on forever! Stylists are friendly, and I’ve never found it to be too crowded. Their newish building has lots of space, and natural light, which gives a somewhat high-​class vibe to an otherwise not-​so-​classy establishment.
Often hard to get a walk-​in appointment (at least, the few times I’ve tried to do it). Probably best to call ahead.
