Went recently for a second time to this re-decorated small restaurant. Those of you excited to try an authentic Tapas bar, you need to keep looking. The food is Mexican-American with the exception of one Serrano ham dish. My girlfriend and I tried some homemade Sangria, which was mediocre, the almonds, mushrooms, petite kabobs and the best dish of prosciutto wrapped asparagus… the bill came to 68 dollars, which is high for our area. It wouldn’t have been so bad, because I like the ambiance here, high-white modern with sofas and banquettes lining the walls and crystal-clear stemware(I am a stemware snob) but the service was very, very slow. Our bll could have been at least 15 dollars more had we had better service.

I went here last minute a few nights ago after shopping and looking for something new. We ate here a few years ago when it was some other name(cant remember) and loved it so figured the new place was worth a try. Tapas has a really cool trendy vibe to it and a very clean feeling atmosphere. They have this«branch» motif. There are these white iron branch’s all over the restaurant and the table bases are also tree branches. On the atmosphere topic, the only reason i dropped a star off the top is because of the TV’s on the wall. They would fit if playing some visually stimulating stuff, but they had MTV playing and it was really distracting to conversation. What i think a Tapa’s place is all about. Share and converse… The food was incredible! There were three of us dinning and we got four Tapa’s. A Chorizo dish, shrimp in a bechamel sauce, Scallops, and baked goat cheese. All of this is served with plantains and really tasty bread. All of which were very good, we had to ask for more bread to soak up the last of the bechamel sauce. I know, not healthy, but man was it good. totally would recommend this place to anyone who is not afraid to try something other than the traditional midwestern eats. I cant wait to go back, i just hope there is something else on the TV.
