Best burgers I’ve had. I love this place! I definitely make a point to come here whenever I’m in town.

Great burgers with unique atmosphere in downtown Appleton. Easily best burger you will find downtown and likely the fox valley assuming you are adventurous. If you can get beyond the fact that you are eating a glazed donut bun and bacon on your burger you MUST Try the Luther burger. Pittsburger is my go to burger. Mad Crab was a fav of others in our group. Been here 5 times and food is consistently good along with an excellent waitstaff. Only complaint is the wait for your food can be longer than other bar burger joints due to the small grill area. Go into it with that in mind, order early, enjoy the atmosphere and have a couple beers and you’ll be fine.

For being a burger joint I was surprised that they were not able to cook my burger to asked temperature. They only cook medium to medium well. This was a huge disappointment because I prefer my burgers on the rare side of medium rare. They also(secretly) charge 50¢ a topping making my addition of pickles, tomato, lettuce, and onion a $ 2.00 upgrade. When everything was said and done my Wisconsin burger with a iced tea and tater tots cost me $ 16.00 without tip. Much better, cheaper options in the Fox Valley.

Delicious Bloody Mary’s and loved the mushroom and Swiss burger. It’s a quaint downtown Pub with great service!

Came here today with the bestie, as she had heard good things from co-workers and she found a Groupon, so we decided to give it a go. I am certainly glad we did!!! Neat hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, with the shape of a southern shotgun style house, with funny framed quotes and quirky décor. Even at 1pm on a Saturday, the place was pretty jumping. On the Ave in Appleton, there was a small bridal party in there, and a different bachelorette party also came in. It got a little loud for casual lunchtime conversation, but it disappeared quickly. Known for interesting flavor combinations on their delicious and juicy burgers, I was very excited to try the Mad Crab burger and The Luther. The Mad Crab was topped with crab rangoon filling, crispy wonton strips and yum yum sauce. The Luther was a sweet and savory delight— a bacon cheeseburger on a glazed donut bun. Heaven!!! The server was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. Also, prompt! I can’t wait to share this gem with my husband :)

My family has been eating here since it was called Mc G’s(name changed because it was too similar to Mister G’s across town). The burgers here are the best you will find in the fox valley. They are juicy and they have everything from a plain Jane burger to a burger with a doughnut for a bun. Each time we stop in they have a new burger of the month, my husband gets it every time and has never been disappointed with their creations. We have always had great service while dining, and even have stopped in on Saturday night for karaōke. It’s a nice change of pace from the typical ‘downtown’ bar. When we were there it was a nice mix of ages, all having fun together singing their little hearts out. This really is a hidden gem in the Appleton area. Can’t wait to go back!

This place used to be called McG’s but they changed their name after a change in ownership(I think). Luckily one thing that didn’t change is how damn delicious their burgers are! These are the best things around, and since I lately don’t eat much meat, I typically get the bean burger patty, and I won’t sugar coat this for you — IT’S THEBEST. It makes the whole concept of not eating meat actually enjoyable! Anyway, the staff is friendly, there is a not unacceptable selection of beer, they occasionally have live music and stuff, the fries are really good, plus the burgers kick ass! Do yourself a favor and get down there today! Get a punch card because you WILL be going back, and you’re gonna want that delicious free burger after 10 punches.

My takeout order was forgotten, didn’t start cooking until after I arrived so I had to wait. –1 star The burger meat tastes frozen and is completely unseasoned. –1 star Asked for medium rare but got medium-well(almost well done). Not sure if they can cook that frozen patty to order anyway. –1 star The burger topping combinations they have are actually promising, but ruined by low-quality beef.

One of the best burgers I have had in a long time. I was from out of town and found this bar/restaurant down the street from my hotel. My boyfriend really wanted to watch the Chiefs and the Royals game that night. The bartender was very nice and put the games on for us. He also put up with a lot of excited yelling and stayed open even though it was a pretty slow Sunday.

Well… Not as great as I expected. The bartender was awesome and was also the cook and the waitress. So that said it’s unfortunate that it seemed understaffed for a day when downtown was busy with music and people everywhere. I’d have to say burgerwise serious burger is where it’s at. I would probly come back for a drink but would not bother with food. Sorry:(

Not a great experience at all. Came in at lunch time with my family. When we got there, there was only one other small group. We waited a very long time before I eventually went up to the bar and asked about menus. He came out a short time later with menus and took our drink order. In the mean time several other groups had come in and in less time than our group got their menus and even got their drinks before we did. When he came back with our drinks, we ordered right away, since a few in the group needed to be back to work by a certain time and we had already been sitting in the restaurant for about 20 minutes. Our appetizer of cheese curds came out and they were fine. Quite of few of them were actually empty fried breading shells with no cheese in them… I got the burger that had cheese curds on it. It was alright. But as our food came out, my dad’s burger never made it. We kept waiting… and waiting… for the server to even come back to check in so we could ask where, pray tell, was our missing burger… but he never came back. It was very difficult to get his attention, even when approaching him at the bar instead of waiting for him to enter the dining area. After asking, and some more waiting, my dad finally got his burger with about 5 minutes before needing to be back at work. The cook had forgotten to make the burger. When we got the bill, it was not correct, with what our orders had been. And after returning with the correct bill, the server had comp-ed the sodas and not the burger that was completely forgotten. Dad was paying the bill, and he was fine with that, I guess. They are in a prime area for lunch goers it seems. So maybe it would make more sense to have one more server during the lunch«rush.» Or perhaps the bartender/server who was on the clock could be trained better. Maybe he’s awesome as a bartender later in the day. But he was… bumbling during our service.

A very lackluster fooding experience. The cheese curds were excellent but besides that the food seemed pretty bland.
