We were sat immediately upon arrival, the table however was so wobbly that we almost broke a glass 2x. The people sitting next to us told us they were seated there first and asked to move(the table was never even touched to fix the problem) I suppose we arrived at shift change because we ward 20 minutes before even being offered water. A bad start to a dinner ruins the experience sorry! The food however is phenomenal!

The wild truffle in Appleton was absolutely tremendous — good service, good environment and good people!

The food was great. Service was just ok. Pizza is offered in the menu but not served during our dinner.

Terrible experience! We arrived at 7pm on a saturday and did not have reservations. We were told there would be an hr wait. We were ok with that and decided to have a drink at the bar… bad idea! As soon as we sat down we realized everyones glasses were empty. The bar was not very busy the bartender was just horribly innefficient and clueless. We waited 20 minutes to order our drinks. We ordered off their drink menu and it was very apparent he had no idea how to make our drinks. The poor gentlemen behind us waited 20mins to order a beer. After waiting an hr with no additional service and empty glasses we decided not to wait any longer for a table. Im pretty sure the food is good but the service while we waited was awful. We wont be back. Ps… how is a «Wine Bar» out of both Riesling and Moscato? I don’t drink either of those but I continuously heard the bartender telling customers they just ran out!

Food was divine but honestly the environment was not very warm. There was obvious dislike for management and honestly if it wasn’t for feeling bad for the waitstaff, we might have walked out. It was very odd and uncomfortable. Remove one person out of the equation and it would have been the best dining experience I’ve had in awhile.

Stopped here for lunch after shopping at the Fox River Mall. Pear and arugula salad is delicious – recommend very highly! Squash ravioli was good as well; however the lunch portion is shockingly tiny. Three ravioli for $ 10? The spinach and goat cheese pizza left something to be desired. Goat cheese tasted slightly moldy/old. Stick to the salads… Waitress was very attentive. great service, and good atmosphere.

Wild Truffle pays attention to the details, from quickly clearing plates, providing fresh utensils, food prep and presentation and most importantly, taste! The arugula, melon, prosciutto salad was complimented with walnuts and a tasty balsamic glaze. The organic lamb was served with a butternut squash purée, fingerling potatoes with door county cherries. The lamb was tender, served medium rare, and flavorful. Thoughtful desserts and french press coffee brought the meal to a fine end. Only complaint: the servers are young, and although trained well, are a little unsophisticated.

The food is great but the service is terrible. It seems like the whole goal for the operator is to save money. We even talked to him about it. His response was non commital. Unfortunately, this is our last visit.

Great food! I tried a pasta dish(a vegetarian option but was able to add sausage) the waitress recommended. Pasta was good with a terrific sauce. Friendly wait staff. Good desert. Note this is a more formal dining experience than I was anticipating from the other reviews but it still has a casual atmosphere(not uptight a you can often find at these high end restaurants). Would recommend if you’re looking for great food and don’t mind spending a little more on your night out.

Horrible horrible service. Had a reservation for a business group of 12 for 6:30 on a Tuesday night(7÷22÷14). Was seated at 6:45… which consisted of the OWNER pointing to our table and telling us to be seated(no menus, nothing). Sat at the table for 30 minutes before a waiter came with menus. Finally took our order at 7:15. At 8:15 we still didn’t have our food and the waiter came to tell me they were out of asparagus. Took them an HOUR to realize they were out of asparagus??? Finally got our food at 8:35(almost 2 hours from being seated). Ate half and wanted it boxed. The waiter took my food and didn’t come back with it boxed for another 15 minutes. Oh and… Have to tack on that 18% gratuity for a large party. Horrible. Oh and our VP went there 2 weeks ago for pizza and they didn’t have any. Ummmm the word PIZZERIA is in their name on their sign!!! Will NEVER go back! Since last night and sharing my experience I have heard SO many awful things about the owner of this place. Unreal.

Owner was unrealistic with room fees, making a very poor business decision with probably one of their largest business customers. KC’ers unite and join the boycott!

Short Review: Over-Rated, Over Priced, Low Quality Food, Poorly Executed Dishes, Susceptible«Local» Ingredients Long Review: My husband and I went in for dinner on a Saturday evening around 8pm. We called ahead around 7:30 to see how busy it was, and the lady that answered the phone said that the first available table would be at 8:30pm. We got there a few minutes early and we were greeted by nobody. There was no host/hostess. No bartender. It took a minute for a server to realize that we needed to be greeted. The restaurant did not look busy at all. Empty bar area, a few empty tables in the main seating area… We were seated at a table, to only be «greeted» by the busser/back waiter with no smile, no hello, just a zombie walking to our table filling our glasses with water and giving us a piece of bread. It took about 5 minutes for a server to come by our table. And even when she did, she didn’t seem too happy, almost confused. She did have to ask if anyone went over the specials with us. In fact, I saw a mini huddle of servers discussing who took what table briefly after our server took our order. We ordered the Crimini Mushroom Soup: REALLY Rich, extra creamy, extra buttery, too salty, and way way way too hot. Which means it sits in a soup warmer for the servers to serve themselves. I was craving the salt, so I didn’t mind that so much, and the flavor intention is there with onion, garlic and herbs, but perhaps too much was going on. We also ordered as a starter, the Roasted Red & Golden Beet Salad: the beets were overcooked, and the herbs in the goat cheese were overwhelming. The plate presentation was nice, however they need to reconsider how much dressing/oils they put in this salad. It was too much. I like to try a variety of menu items on a first visit, so I ordered Calamari as my main meal and my husband ordered the special; fettucine noodles, wild mushrooms, asparagus, chicken, and peas $ 24. I was told by the server that my calamari had a «panko breading» on it. Not only did she get that wrong, but it was so unappetizing due to the heavy herb, FINELY ground breadcrumbs, salty coating. How can you mess up calamari? At least it wash’t overcooked. But I stopped after two bites due to a «fishy» odor. Oh and my husband’s «special?» It looked like they took the crimini soup and used that as the pasta sauce, they forgot the chicken, and it just looked like slop. Very over-priced SLOP. I have to compliment that the pasta was al dente though, so there is your one star. We had to «pre-order» our dessert, which I told the server about after our salad. She forgot that I had ordered it and gave us the bill after our entrée plates were cleared. I was relieved that she forgot about it. All we wanted to do was leave at that point. I’m not one to send back a dish or complain to management. But going forward, I will be sending dishes back and giving constructive criticism to management. We spent $ 60 total, including a 20% tip and we were being too nice. We won’t be back. If you claim to be a «farm to table» restaurant, highlight your farmers, educate your staff on what was sourced locally. It seems the other reviewers enjoyed the pizza here the most. But I’d rather go to Stuc’s for pizza if this place is only known for that! And Victoria’s is straight forward old school italian and is always consistent; may not be «locally» sourced ingredients but I don’t think Wild Truffle is either.

Atmosphere was excellent as was the waiter. Enjoyed the bread served with roasted garlic. Lobster bisque soup was average. Hubby and I ordered the lamb chops which were touted as the most sought after organic lamb in the country, recommended rare. Hubby loved it thought it was quite tender. Mine felt like I was eating raw meat and was a bit chewy. Love a seasoned char on it so it didn’t thrill me. Friends ordered risotto and another dish and both loved them(but could’ve been just polite company). I didn’t complain about my dish. It was a bit offputting that the chef kept coming around checking on us and bragging about the lamb, so I couldn’t say I didn’t like it. Will definitely go back to try the steak or open oven pizza. Dessert was Warm chocolate fondue with fresh made to order Italian zeppole(donuts). It was a very rich dessert, but nothing special.

Last night was my first visit to Wild Truffle and I am glad I went. Since we had some burgers at Kroll’s in GB for lunch I didn’t want anything heavy. I decided on the Sweet Italian Sausage Pizza. Great choice! The crust was crispy and firm and had that nice crack and air pockets indicative of fresh dough. The sweet Italian sausage had great flavor and the mozzarella was fresh. The next time I’m in Appleton I’ll be back.

When I think about my experience at Wild Truffle, the only word that can be used to describe it is «interesting.» It’s a nicely decorated restaurant with great service(which has its quirks) and the food is pretty good. I’m giving this place 3 stars, when it’s really more like 3.5 in my opinion. Service is excellent, but it can be weird. My group of coworkers(we’re all out of town) would have questions regarding the menu, but it seemed like the waiters wouldn’t know if items could be nut-free or if sides could be substituted with other items — as a result, we’d have a waiter that would disappear promptly to get answers. Maybe this place is still fairly new? It’s also a little funny when the waiter is going over specials, allowing us to know there is a shaved truffle pasta special«for the very low, low price of $ 85.» Yea, that’s an invitation NOT to order it. I had the woodfired peach salad with burrata cheese and arugula. It wasn’t quite what I imagined when it was served. I thought the peaches would be on a bed of arugula and not vice versa. The peaches were good, but they hardly tasted wood-fired to me since they were chilled. I didn’t see any kind of grill marks either and as another coworker said, «these taste like canned peaches.» I beg to differ, but I enjoyed the balsamic vinegar dressing and creamy burratta on top of the sweet peaches. As an entrée, I had the sea scallops with risotto. I was very happy with these gigantic scallops and the risotto was creamy and flavorful. I really enjoyed the shaved cheese on top of it. I didn’t partake in dessert, but this place struck me as odd because desserts are made to order, so it’s best to put in your order at the beginning of the meal. From what I could see, the gingerbread cake was a seasonal item. Dinner here can take a long time. I think we were there for 2.5 hours — most of which was spent waiting for salads and entrees. Perhaps this is what the restaurant owner is going for: a dinner experience that allows you to slow down and just enjoy dinner. It’s definitely not a place for people in a rush. I’d probably come back since this was the restaurant with the best food on my business trip. If dining alone, I’d probably try to see if I could order apps or entrees at the bar if it’s permitted.

Delicious meal. Excellent wine list. Extensive and varied. Many menu options. Higher priced, but you get the big city feel here. I had a glass of white wine and Butternut Squash Ravioli and with tip it was $ 30. Lovely sophisticated atmosphere and GREAT Frank Sinatra pandora channel playing :) Also, outside seating with strung lights. :)

Food: very good. Recommend the pizza. The pasta is also good. Service: very inconsistent. I’ve been ignored by the teenage hostess, to the point where a chef came out and asked where she went. Very odd. Also I’ve seen the waitstaff rushing around like they were short help. I’ve sat at the bar and been ignored! Major downside of this place. It’s too bad because the food and wine are good.

Had a decent experience. I feel so bad for the other reviewers who saw the owner in action. Maybe he wasn’t there the night we went… I split the Wood-fired Tomato & Wisconsin Goat Cheese Fondue with a friend for an appetizer. There’s definitely more of the«fondue» than there is bread. We had to ask for more. Maybe I don’t know what constitutes a fondue, but it was more like a marinara dipping sauce. I had the Wild Truffle pizza by myself. It’s funny because they say«handcrafted to serve one person with just a little leftover». EASILY splittable for 2… especially after eating an appetizer. Random advice from out-of-towners. They have the cutest patio out in the back. But after the sun sets… the mosquitoes in Wisconsin are vicious. We were outside for no more than 5 minutes and were completely bitten up, even with the off candles around the area. We switched to eat inside.
