Ordered a $ 5 Fill Up to go. They were out of lemonade, didn’t put the sauce in my bag, and the cookie that came with my order was oatmeal raisin walnut instead of chocolate chip. I’d normally be okay with an oatmeal raisin cookie, but I’m allergic to walnuts so that was a major bummer. Redeeming qualities: at least the chicken and mashed potatoes tasted good and were hot!

customer service is horrible at this location. they do not keep product in production so waits are often 20 to 30 minutes unless you compromise on what you ordered. pot pie are really long waits especially on wednesdays(why run a special if you’re going to use it to drive away customers). I know that the location is closing when Safeway remodels but I hope they don’t re-rent in the center if the same franchisee would be allowed to operate it.

I’ll make it sort and sweet. I agree with the other poor reviews. KFC is one of my preferred fast food choices but you should stay as far away from this location as possible. The staff is rude and don’t want to help the customers. They barely speak English which makes ordering food a pain and almost always ends up with a mistake in the order. They are usually out of something we want to order and have to wait 10 – 15 minutes to get our food. I have been to some bad food places before, but this KFC is just consistently flat out HORRIBLE.

Food OK, often out of items and will make you wait, but wont tell you their out of the ordered idem, till after you pay. Wait time up to ~5 minutes. They dont have unsweetened ice tea. Wont give you normal sized cup for water. Staff and mangers are curt and unhelpful. This KFC sux!!! Note to Corporate office. Pull franchisee’s license. I have complained too many times, and apparently no one cares!!!

I was born and raised in Louisville, and I’m a longtime, loyal KFC fan, but the KFC in Aptos is a disgrace and a shame to the chain and to Harland Sanders’ memory. First, basics: The staff, largely hispanic, all behave as if they’ve been hit in the back of the head with a plank before beginning their working day, and are pretty much universally either angry, or utterly dispirited. I can understand that, I used to work in a KFC. You learn to pretend though. people just want a hot, tasty, salty meal and to get on about their business. It’s not that hard: You pretend to be okay with your job, you present my food quickly, I smile and pretend to be happy getting the food, I consume mass quantities of it… and everybody goes home happy. That’s not the game here. The ladies like to hang out in the back areas of the restaurant and chatter, but, here’s a tip: Just because I’m so lily white as to be clear if I don’t get any sunshine during the year doesn’t mean I lack comprehension for what you’re talking about, either about your personal life, or about your difficult customers. I keep it civil… why can’t you all? Next: Food. It’s KFC. Greasy tasty chicken, middling bag-prepared side dishes, and deep-fried tasty junk are the norm. That being said, how the hell do you screw up things like this so masterfully? Often the chicken tastes burnt on the outside, but has patches of gore on the inside… because, as other reviews have said, you have a choice: Take whatever stuff that happens to have been under the hot lights for ever how long it’s been sitting there… or… insist on getting what you actually ordered, which means it will be hastily, poorly prepared. The hatred goes on and on: They routinely close 15 – 30 minutes before posted hours, and will NOT make any food if they’ve decided they’re done for the day, period. Some times of the day you don’t even get the option of burnt-outside raw-inside chicken. Substitutions? Sometimes. Depending on the phase of venus and intersection with other planets, you might get what you want… but not guaranteed. Also: The menu means nothing. If they do or don’t have an item, you can’t tell beforehand, because they pretty much just choose to make whatever they want to make on any given day. Like the honey badger, they don’t give a sh*t, and they be nasty. Who sells chicken strips without buffalo sauce of any kind… really? I have a lot of home-town and home-state pride. Despite the fact that it’s bad for me, and it’s objectively not really a very good foodstuff, I have an irrational craving for the salty tender deliciousness that is KFC. With the way this place rolls, I’d rather eat from the dumpster at Denny’s. At least I know the food there is cooked, and I get to preserve my basic human dignity. KFC is supposed to be fast, good, junk food. not slow, wait 20 minutes for underdone spat-in crud food. The Capitola and Watsonville franchises are STELLAR. Yank the Aptos franchise and put them out of their misery and out of business. It’s the only justifiable act.

I love KFC, and I hate it that there’s one within walking distance and it just happens to be the worst run KFC I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Over the years, this place has been slipping from my initial«Eh, it could be worst» impression down to «dear god, never again.» First, the staff. They are unhelpful, curt, ration their words like they’re charged 50-cents per syllable they speak to the customer, and always have the air of someone who’s just had a Jehovah’s Witness show up on their doorstep while they were in the shower. Counter staff shouldn’t be forced to curry favor with their customers, but every time I go into this restaurant, I feel like I’m intruding on people who’d rather I just get out. They make this explicit with their closing time, which tends to be anywhere from 15 – 30 minutes before the time marked on the door. Second, the menu: This franchise drops a lot of the KFC standards, and you never know if they’ll have the rest of the items there from day to day. I’ve had times when I’ve gone in and gone through three or four possible meals before hitting one that they’ll admit to having and actually have in stock at that time. I’ve been told several times that certain menu items have been discontinued only for staff at other KFC’s to look at me like I’m crazy when I express sadness over the missing menu item and telling me that it most certainly is still being carried. Third: The quality. This is really where they’ve fallen over the past few years. Despite everything else, there’s always been a baseline of quality that’s kept me coming back once every few months despite the other issues, but the chicken has gone from«could be warmer» to «lukewarm» to «I could swear this bit is still raw and cold and slimy», the breading is overly greased and burnt, the corn on the cob I got last night was… I can only guess –rotten– along one side judging from the texture and way it just turned into slurrymush on contact with my mouth. All of this, after having to wait 20 minutes for them to «cook up a new batch» because they were out of just about everything we’d ordered at 7:30PM. As I said, this restaurant has been falling for awhile, and as of last night’s dining experience, has officially hit my «Dear god, never again» threshold. If you’re craving KFC, hit the KFC/A&W on 41st Street, where the food is fantastic and the waitstaff is friendly, or cruse down to the KFC/Long John Silvers in Watsonville where the food is quite nice and the waitstaff is also quite nice. Whatever you do, don’t go to the KFC in Aptos. It’s an insult to the brand.

Just about the worst KFC in the country – NOLIE! This poor hole-in-the-wall KFC is poorly managed, and a nightmare to have to deal with. They never have any food made – food that you want anyway – and no matter what you may want(orginal recipe, white meat, dark meat, grilled or pot pies) they will not have any, and you will have to get a little of that and a little of this to make up a meal. And it probably won’t be fresh. And DON’T try to explain that in the future they might consider having food cooked up, as you will get attitude deluxe from the Hispanic ladies that staff the place. If you can make the drive to the 41st Avenue location, good Lord, do so! Much better management, staff and they never tell you that you can’t have blah**-blah** because they don’t have blah**-blah** cooked up. Avoid the Aptos KFC and you will be a happier person, HONESTLY!

The employees here all got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Not friendly or helpful at all. Had to pry menu info out of them. I don’t know was up with that. We ordered a 7 pc original dark meat special that came with two sides of smashed potatoes and a side of gravy. When the server was filling the bucket with chicken she asked if we would like a couple of piece of extra crispy instead of the original because they were out of original dark meat. I said no. So she asked if we would like original white meat instead. I said sure. Hey, a free upgrade since they charge extra for white meat! And wow, the size of the sides… either they have different size containers for sides in Aptos than we have in Stockton. or I haven’t had KFC for a while. The containers were huge. at least compared to the old containers. Sure seemed like they contained a lot more food. About time, KFC since your product is OVERPRICED anyway! I will return to KFC. just probably not this one! :)

On a day filled with healthy food(breakfast at Burger King!) we decided to satisfy our hunger cravings with some delicious KFC. And yes, it WAS«finger lickin’ good». I got the extra crispy meal that included a drumstick and a breast with a side of mashed potatoes with gravy, a biscuit and a drink. The boyfriend got the same thing but with original recipe. Oh yeah, and we took advantage of the 2 for $ 1 apple fritters. I prefer the original recipe to the extra crispy but everything was super fresh, hot and delicious. I don’t know about anyone else but the highlite of my meal at KFC is that yummy HFC-filled«honey» sauce they give you for the biscuit. Call me country… actually I guess if I was«country» I’d prefer real honey… call me trashy then… but I LOVE that stuff smeared on a hot biscuit with butter. We rolled out of there fat and happy. My chihuahua waiting in the car was pretty pissed he missed out but last I checked chicken bones are bad for dogs.
