It’s hard to hate a storage facility, but hate or loathe is the best word I can come up with to describe how I feel every time I have to come here because it is always an ordeal. I recently moved to the no man’s land of the San Gabriel Valley and needed to store a small amount of stuff. This place has the cheapest rates around, but as with everything else in life, you often get what you pay for. So here’s what $ 60/mo gets you at this place: Annoying, condescending and passive aggressive exchanges that pass for customer service from their office person, Paula. She is there every day except Saturday. Lucky you. Guys standing around in the parts department(they share this facility with the car dealer across the street) farting(yes, literally) and laughing. Charmers, all of them. Don’t ask them a question or for help even though they are literally inside the same building, directly opposite the elevator. They won’t help you and will just direct you to the storage office. A super creepy horror movie worthy freight elevator to the 3rd floor or higher which is where you are going to be storing your crap if you’re only paying $ 60/mo. This thing terrifies me and I always think I am going to lose a limb(or head), getting in or out of it. Who needs the gym? Just trying to get those heavy metal elevator doors open is a workout in itself. Muscle building terrifying«fun». No other way up except through the creepy freight elevator, which may or may not be in use by someone else since there is only one for the entire building and no stairways to access on your own. Helpful. Storage doors that don’t even close all the way and people can see inside to what you are storing. Plus, no video surveillance of any kind. Not exactly secure, so I suggest not storing anything too valuable here. Broken down, faulty moving carts with handles that aren’t securely fastened so that they are prone to lifting up and crashing down on you in the middle of moving your crap. I have the foot bruises to prove it. FYI, Paula: When a customer tells you they were injured by your faulty equipment, a proper response is not«You’re the only one who has experienced that». A proper response is «I’m sorry you were hurt. We’ll fix the cart or make it unavailable to customers so that no one else gets hurt». Anyone is liable to get hurt when you leave out broken equipment. And finally, ridiculous access hours that make coming here on any day other than Saturday(they close at 4pm) impossible for any working adult. Closing at 5:00pm M-F? Seriously? I don’t think the low price is really worth the hassle of this place.

I’m not sure how to rate a place such as this… I’ve used their services for the past 3 years and have been able to go in and out and grab my stuff with ease. The people working the front office have always been friendly. And the freight elevator is fun to work. I don’t know how safe your stuff is, though, since there’s nobody monitoring the place other than the guy or gal is at the front office. But in 3 years, I’ve never had any problems. It is my home away from home.
