Came here when I was bar hopping one night and this place didn’t really stand out to me. Sadly, we didn’t come during happy hour, so the drinks were pretty pricey :(my friend and I started with a round of jäger bombs, and ordered«the diva» upon recommendation from the bartender. The diva was absolutely delish! It was light and fruity, and you can’t taste the alcohol at all. Two jäger bombs and two divas = $ 42 w/o tip. Restroom is kind of hidden. If you enter the bar, it’ll be on your left right beside the shelves of wine. There were only 2 or 3 stalls(I forgot, heheh kinda buzzed by then). Two sinks, and a narrow walkway to get to the stalls.

A little awkward walking in, this is one of those places where you do not get greeted or acknowledged and you are unsure whether or not to seat yourself at a table… We asked. Yes, just sit anywhere. It was very early on a Saturday night. Shared the Chicken Nachos, which was amazing, and the Meatballs al Forno, which definitely sounded better than it actually tasted, unfortunately. My strawberry margarita was sweet and yummy. If I ever return, it would have to be for the nachos.

I’ve only tried the food here, so I wouldn’t know about the drinks. It was pretty empty when I went around 8:30pm and we were not greeted or even noticed. It took a bit of lookign around like a lost lamb and shuffling over to a table before a waiter came by. The waiter(and trainee) were both very knowledgable and courteous to us, and we quickly ordered: Hummus, tzatziki, tabbouleh: Honestly this was a bit bland to me. I definitely needed more than that teensy slice of lemon to spice things up. Looked amazing, sure didn’t taste it :( Shrimp skewers: Oh man this was good. Yummy, well marinated skewers on a bed of lettuce and greens! AVOCADO! MANGO! All things delicious! I would definitely get this again! Louie burger: It looked nice, smelled nice, and tasted nice :) Pretty good price as well for such a big burger. Overall, this place is nice if you want a casual spot for quick eats. There are pricier items on the menu, but you can’t go wrong with burgers, fries, and shrimp skewers!

I used to be a huge fan of Bar Louie and I will never again dine here. 1. Dylan M. and I walked in and were not greeted by anyone. Not a host, not an employee, not anyone. We kinda stood around and roamed around and finally just sat at the bar. 2. After sitting at the bar for a while, the employee finally came over and asked us what we wanted to drink and we said water and then what we wanted to order. I wanted a grilled chicken breast and a side of broccoli(which I’ve ordered hundreds of times before) to which she gives me the menu and suggests I order the voo doo chicken. Umm no I do not want the voo doo chicken 3. So after about 10 minutes of doing God knows what she walks past us with 2 beers and goes to another table. We left without getting water or even dining. This place sucks.

This is like a wanna-be Yardhouse. I got a fish sandwich and it had a consistency like eel. If they called it an Eel sandwich I wouldn’t have questioned it. I was also told it was battered and fried, but it came out grilled which was kinda weird to me. Blah blah blah… the place was clean and hte service was good… If you’re at the mall and feel like going to the Yardhouse than this place is the jam!

This place has very good food, but the service kills it. Only one server and one bartender were working on a weekend day with the NFL playoffs and the Lakers playing. Our server was nice and tried her best. She just could not keep up. We got the meatballs al forno as an appetizer. They were pretty good. They had rich flavor and were smothered in melted cheese. I ordered loaded tots and a buffalo chicken flatbread for my meal. Both were quite good. The tots are smothered in cheese and bacon. The flatbread had great flavor with the buffalo sauce and blue cheese. This place could be a strong three star, maybe a four if they can get the staffing issue figured out.

First off I must tell you that I only was here to drink beer while Her Majesty was shopping, so no input on the food. I thought I would give this place a try instead of Dave and Buster’s, which has a lame beer selection, and would be a mad house I feared as it was the day of the Trojans/Bruins game. It’s a nice looking place, very new looking, with lots of wood and stone. I was pleased to see they had a pretty decent beer selection, several that I might choose. There was Racer 5, Torpedo, Stone Levitation, and about 37 other tap handles. I decided on Stone Smoked Porter, I just need to get one of the three attractive ladies behind the bar to come over and take my order. It wasn’t busy, maybe 7 or 8 others at the large rectangular bar, and they already had what they needed. It wasn’t like I had to wait forever, or anything, it just seemed to take longer than it should have. Once I got her attention I told my ‘tender my selection, and she offered me a 14 oz, or a 20 oz. I chose the 20. I am please that they are not trying to pass a 14 oz pour as a pint like so many places do. And they do seem proud of their beer program. The selection isn’t anything like the Yardhouse or T. Phillips, but the selection is wider than average, and thoughtfully selected. They have a 40 beers in 40 days club, which I might actually try for if this place wasn’t at the mall. So with this care and attention, it is beyond me why they would fail to train their ‘tenders to properly pour a beer. I paid for 20 oz, but I swear there was no more than 17 in that glass. $ 8 to boot. Still those 17 oz were tastier than anything I might have gotten at D&B!

Usually come here for Wednesday buckets. 5 dollars per bucket! Which equals to one dollar per beer. Not the highest quality beer(usually bud/light, coors, miller) but it’s 1 doollaa so it’s all good. The drinks at Bar Louie are pretty okay. Haven’t had cocktails here in a while, but from what I remember they’re pretty standard. They offer a pretty good selection of beers on tap, and happy hours are usually a good time to go. Gets pretty crowded sometimes. Food’s alright. My party for some reason, orders the nachos all the time. It’s not bad. Sometimes they give you more chicken and stuff with it, but sometimes not so much. I had a really gooood sandwich here once… forgot what it’s called, but there was brie in it. It was bomb. Surprise

4 Stars for Happy Hour 3 Stars for Food I came during happy hour on a Thursday, and sat at the bar. I enjoyed the fact that they had a decent selection of beers, and was able to sample some new craft beer. The service was good, and the bartenders were happy to help with indecisive beer orders. We ordered a plate of nachos to shared, and were less than impressed. The chips were chewy, it was topped with chicken, black beans, guac, sour cream, and nacho cheese sauce. The flavor was okay until you hit the nacho cheese sauce. Something weird about the taste, it’d have been better with real cheese. Happy hour prices are good, and if I’m ever in the area I’d go there. Our group had 8 beers, 3 glasses of wine, and a plate of nachos and the total came out to $ 41.

This place never gets too full. Even on big game nights, you can still typically find a seat somewhere inside with a good TV view. They have a bar section in the middle and tables filling out the rest of the place. There are tons of big screen TVs around so its hard to get a bad seat to watch a game. Upon entering you basically just seat yourself anywhere you please. Haven’t seen their happy hour menu, but this bar is as typical as it can get. They have plenty of drinks available and on tap. Their food is pretty mediocre. Their sliders are okay, but last time I got the fish and chips and the fish was way over burnt. You can tell before even eating it that it was too burnt, but the waitress served it anyways. Their service is SLOW. If you’re in a rush for a quick drink to meet-up, definitely don’t come here. They always seem to be understaffed no matter what time I come to this place. Your bartender/waiter will most likely disappear for a long duration of your stay. But if you have the time, or want to enjoy watching a game without being overly crowded, this place isn’t too bad.

This was the last location of yesterday’s bar hoppin’ and happy hour… in. Bf has been here before, but just decided to take me here to try it out. It’s connected to the Westfield Santa Anita Mall, and the size of this place isn’t too big. Seems to be more of an Asian crowd. Our waitress was pretty chippy and cheerful. Funny, and informative. Their happy hour is $ 3 beers, and $ 4 for mixed/well drinks, and their martinis. Cocktails are not included.BOOOO. I ordered the S’mores which consists of Absolut Vanilla, Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, toasted marshmallow syrup, cream, floating marshmallows(which was non-existent in my drink), & a graham cracker rim. ^ = GROSS. It was really strong, and there was no sweetness to it. Why am I complaining that it was strong? It was strong to the point that it wasn’t enjoyable. I was licking the rim the whole time. The rim was basically like a margarita. They dip it in chocolate syrup and sprinkle graham crackers over it. A+ for creativity, and yummy-ness. Flavor wise for the drink.bleck. I honestly didn’t want to finish it. But I sucked it up, with my disgusted face every time I sipped, and drank the damn thang. –__– Bf got his Pumpkin Spice Blue Moon. We also ordered their chicken nachos,(happy hour appetizers as well) and that was $ 5. The portion is big! I was surprised. Usually, places are a bit stingy, but the portion was very good. It was queso cheese, black beens, guac, sour gream, and Jalapenos. There was barely any cheese, so we got another side of it. Pretty filling I must say. After 1 drink, we bizzounced. I’ll pass.

Sorry Louie, I had to take one star away. I still can’t believe that your Thursday Specials changed. :(Recently came here on a Thursday thinking it would be nice to get some drink on and celebrate finishing up my finals, then I find out from the waitress that there is no longer $ 4 dollar well drinks and $ 3 draft beers. I was crushed. When my friend arrived, I told her that special they once had no longer exist, she was disappointed. Well, we didn’t leave but instead stayed and asked what was their NEW specials for their Thursdays. Their new specials were half off wine bottles and $ 5 all martinis, which wasn’t that bad. A few of their wine bottles are around $ 20-$ 25, if you have a group, you all can split that wine like nothing. Manhattan martini — pretty good… strong if you get it at the bar ;) effin good — if you happen to be eating the hummus, grab that cucumber, take a sip of the drink then bite of the cucumber, refreshingly good stuff The clover — henny and Markers Make and some ok twist? damn good. btw, if there are only two or three of you there and are planning to do their happy hour or weekday specials, i would suggest you to sit at the bar if there are seats available, Fast service, if the bars not full. Sitting at the able will just get you complaining. I’m sure you all don’t want to wait for your dranks :)

Even though it’s quite the slog from West LA, for a myriad of reasons, I’ve been spending more time in the San Gabriel Valley. On one of these jaunts, I was introduced to Bar Louie. The first thing I said to myself when I walked in was, «This is the richest possible version of a poor man’s Yardhouse». I don’t know how else to describe it: the restaurant tries to deliver a similar concept as Yardhouse’s, but falls decidedly short with a smaller selection in food and alcohol… but it tries to make up for it with dark wood paneling and pricey looking leather accoutrements. I guess I can’t really give a very in-depth review of the place because we had just eaten elsewhere and only ordered beers. But I did note with some interest the interesting pricing on said brews($ 7 for 14 oz, $ 8 for 20 oz glasses) and the bar staff was well trained to upsell the larger glasses. Obligatory big screens everywhere made it easy to watch the Spurs sweep the Clippers, and I thought it was an easy place to hang out and watch the game.

This is a decent place to hangout, drink, and order some food. Not much to expect but just to come chill and watch a sports game on television. We ordered a few drinks, had a plate of sliders, chicken nachos, and a pork pull sandwich. The tap beer was cold, the sliders were okay… but, the meat had an after taste. The chicken nachos was fine… how can it go wrong? and the pork pull seemed okay after trying it. They have LCD televisions around the whole place, and basically people come to drink and probably munch lightly. The bartenders were cool. Gave good service and was attentive. Even though the bar top was a bit sticky… the whole place seemed clean. And the wooden ambiance gave it a classy look. I like it.

I was originally planning to give only 3 stars to Bar Louie, but then I remembered their GREAT Tuesday and Thursday night deals =) On Tuesdays, you can order a burger for $ 1 and add-on’s at different costs(all under $ 1 a piece though). It’s a great deal, and pair it with your favorite beer. you’re all set for the game on the big screen if you’re sitting at the bar. On Thursdays, they have a happy hour after 9pm where drinks are about $ 3-$ 4 and it’s really busy. But you can get pretty«happy» for less than $ 20 and there is usually a DJ — random, and kind of unnecessary. However, I’d recommend you go early to avoid the lines(especially try to get a seat at the bar!), so you don’t have to stand and fight to put in your order. This place attracts everyone who wants a drink but doesn’t want to drive to Pasadena, Downtown, and/or Hollywood. They’re mostly kids of well-to-do families, or wannabes like me from the other side of the 10 freeway. I pretty much try to avoid Bar Louie at any other time because their regular prices are marked up to make up for the more reasonable Tuesday and Thursday nights. Have fun!

I come here for happy hours which ends at 7PM Mon-Fri when I can. Appetizers(small plates, as they call it) are half off. Loaded fries and Szechuan wings are my usual orders. I used to come many Wednesdays when it was $ 5 bucket of 5 bottles of beers. Not so much anymore because they no longer offer Bud Light Lime. I never drink it of course, but my friends love cheap! And that it is. Now, the group comes every now and then for $ 4 wells Thursdays. One awesome waiter made me my new usual drink. It’s strawberry lemonade, vodka, and a splash of sprite. Adiós and Sex on The Beach are $ 5 on Thurs. too. The place did close down for a week or so because they had no running hot water. I haven’t came back since and not sure how I really feel about ordering food from here after knowing they didn’t have hot water. But they do have good deals on alcohol.

Ohhhh, Bar Louie. Ya dun Goof’d! Last week, in my attempts to catch Happy Hour on Friday night, I was met by the door with a sign citing health code violations. What seemed to be the problem? No hot water. Um, so this whole time, workers here were actually washing their glasses and dishes with cold water? This won’t sit well with the germaphobes. Even though this place was temporarily shut down because of this, they’re re-opening and hopefully, this time, they will have hot water. And even though they messed up, I reluctantly forgive them. Just because I do enjoy their happy hour and when you frequent this part of 626 on the weekdays, this is one of the more popular hangout spots when you’re looking to stay in Arcadia. This place is great for Happy Hour which is from 4−7PM, Monday thru Friday. $ 3 for beers, $ 5 for cocktails/martinis and half off appetizers. They have a pretty big selection of beer and a good variety of cocktails. Appetizers are decent, not amazingly tasty but with happy hour pricing, it’s very convenient to get the munchies. Loaded tater tots and crispy calamari are great! Service could be better. There aren’t that many waitresses walking around often so sometimes, it takes several attempts to get the waitresses’ attention.

My girl friend suggested this place for girl’s night out yesterday and I was sadly a little disappointed since every time she came she received great service and food. Well my Blue Louie Burger wasn’t the disappointment but the waitress that served us was either new or lost… she was apologetic but it wasn’t even busy… as a matter of fact it was a Friday night and business was not on par with other bars/restaurants…which is strange because it’s located outside of the Santa Anita Westfield mall… I would think people would get a drink or two here after shopping. All three of us ordered burgers… it took about 30 minutes for only two burgers to come out… and I wanted an additional 15 – 20 minutes for mine… I thought they like forgot or something. –_-” As the night went on… the choice of music was kinda dull, depressing and slow for a bar/restaurant…then I guess when we were about to leave around 10ish. the music picked up a faster paced… guess we were there just too early. hah but even then it didn’t really fill up that much. Overall the service I received was so-so, the food was okay… but I still had a great time with my girl friends. =]

very neighborhood bar. If you are from the area you will see everyone you know here. Usually packed on friday nights and weekends with all of your friends. The atmosphere is welcoming. You go in and seat yourself and a waitress will be there to help you shortly. sad thing was that the«happy hour food» was not part of the happy hour menu that monday night I went. It was only the $ 5 beer.
