Technically CLOSED. Some of their bread items can be found within the supermarket, but the location has been taken over by Bread Farm. Very limited selection now consisting of Toasts loaves, pan/rolls, and some savory leek or sesame breads. I miss their simple taro buns. Their is still a Dersir bakery in the 99 Ranch over in SGV, but their prices have gone up 25 cents per item. Still not a bad inflation compared to other bakeries in the area.

Located inside the 99 Ranch Market, near 1 of the entrances to the market(towards the side facing Golden West Ave). I really love to look around this place for what tasty baked goods may tempt me into buying. I have purchased the Japanese cheesecake a number of times here because it is very lightly sweetened, delicate and soft, melt in your mouth delicious! But it is a bit pricey, at $ 6– $ 7 for a small little cake, so I don’t get this too often. I also like to purchase some of the $ 0.99 little cakes and buns that are near the register. In general, the pricing for a lot of the buns and cakes here are pretty affordable. Although I have had better at other bakeries like Kee Wah Bakery, I still like this place and buy things from here when I’m shopping at 99 Ranch. Parking here is pretty plentiful, as the market shares the plaza with other Chinese businesses and eateries.

Firstly, this place is über cheap. It has to be one of the cheapest bakeries out there. And by cheap I don’t mean, a rundown alleyway of a place, but by the dollars pulled out of your wallet. The bread is all right. Their wheat bread, not so much, but their multi-grain one, with cranberries! I like! :) It gets a little too ‘busy’ for your mouth to handle, but it’s fine. :) The red bean buns, taro buns, etc, are actually filled, which is nice for a change. However, their red beans buns had changed to a drier texture which I don’t particularly like. but taro is always a go. i’ve never had any of their cakes, because they’ve never been all that appealing. The cake rolls are okay though, they don’t slab on pounds of cream in the center, which is a plus for pseudo-health freaks, I say pseudo because… well you’re at a bakery, I don’t know how healthful any of the items are. But at least without excessive cream, it’s less… bewildering. and lastly. my favorite, favorite of all time, though I’ve only seen and had it once. It’s a little puffed up bun, it’s almost completely hollow on the side, but they had a bit of mochi, strawberry jam, and chocolate spread all on the inside, and it was amazing. That in itself would be 4 stars. Well if ever you’re at 99 ranch, it’s like… right there. so have a look around before/after you do your grocery shopping! :)

I’m not feelin’ this bakery. Everything here always looks so delicious since everything is so pretty and asian bakery elegant looking. However, the taste always fails to win me over. I do not enjoy the texture or bland flavors of any of the buns here and the cakes are boring, never have enough sugar, and taste like eggs. I’m sorry, but although the prices are relatively low, I’d rather pay more for better baked goods. I once had a Japanese style cheesecake from here and when I ate a slice at home, it tasted completely rancid. Though it looked fine, it tasted like rotting milk and I threw up after eating one bite. tried the mango mousse cake and it was delicious. it wasn’t too sweet and it wasn’t too heavy. the fluffy-ness of the cake and the texture was just right. there was a good amount of fruit and i would definitely eat it again. a $ 25 cake is good enough for 13 people.
