A friend of ours recommended this place and brought us here. Said their boat noodle and hollywood noodles are the best here. First impression-very clean and new. Looked as if they just newly opened but found out they have been here and just remodeled especially after the short closure 2 years back for vermin infestation, yikes! Food: Boat noodle was in fact very flavorful with a non-watery yet thick pork blood soup. Soup is super bold in flavors. Depending on what your taste bud prefers, this may be too strong in flavors for some as it has tons and tons of spices of I don’t even know what is in it anymore. I taste, super sweet, super salty, sour and a bunch of(again) i don’t know what. Generally too much flavor stimulant. It reminds me of someone who put too much of one seasoning by accident and decide to put another ingredient to balance it out and it just keeps going and now you got a load of everything. I mean, its not too bad and it is more genuine and I like it more than a lot of other local places but the one in Thai Town is still my favorite. I noticed many places don’t put give a lot of soup so we always order an extra side of the soup. We always try it alone to see what the base taste like and the broth didn’t have that strong of the bone meat flavors. Again, just a lot of seasoning over it. For the people who love LOTS of spices and seasoning, will love this and possibly give it 4 stars if so. I personally prefer a more balance and natural bold flavors with enough spices to not over power too much of its better natural flavors of the item. Love that they provide shrimp chips with tamarind/spicy sauce to dip them in while you wait for your food. The pork jerky was good but nothing to rave about and for that price you pay for them and the dish was a bit small for the cost. The seafood salad I do have to say was delicious! Very refreshing and perfect in flavoring. Service: There was mainly one lady working but wasn’t busy. So service was generic. Price: Descent but some items a bit costly for what you get. Parking: May be a hassle as there is only street parking but since its usually not busy, its not too bad.

Short review. Fantastically spicy boat noodle soup. Tasty specials. Will write a longer review after recovering from the soup.

Best Thai food that delivers in the Monrovia area. Curries are really good, noodles as well. I picked up one time and the restaurant was full of Thai people — always a good sign.

Not happy with the amount of time it is taking them to deliver my food. I had asked the guy how long it takes and he gave me a 45 minute quote. It’s been more than an hour and they still haven’t arrived. I don’t know how they do business, but if you give someone a time frame then be on time. If you cannot get to a location on time, call your customers. Your time is not the only time that is valuable. I will not order from this place again.

We got takeout there last night. They were just closing but went out of they’re way to accommodate us. We had Pad Thai and a fish special. Both were very delicious — especially considering we walked with it for 45 mins before dining. A darling couple own the place — they bought it 6 months or so ago. Dining room is very nice with much nicer tables and chairs than most places. It’s fairly large inside so you don’t feel cramped. The menu is huge! What someone said earlier about the neighborhood isn’t true. We live here and it’s great — safe and quiet. It’s in a section of Arcadia sprouting up 2 million dollar homes all over. Can’t wait to go back try out some other items.

Wow! Talk about a complete makeover! I am loving this newly re-vamped restaurant! I have been coming here for the best Thai boat noodles in the area and was saddened when management changed and their boat noodles no longer tasted the same. However, just last week, my husband and I decided to give this place another shot. Boy am I glad we did! The boat noodles now tasted just as it did before the change in management and we really enjoyed the new interior of this restaurant! No more poster-board cut outs of Hollywood celebrities, dirty carpet, and random stuffed animals. This place is now beautiful and modern. What a pleasant dining experience. I also love that the place is usually empty. I’ve never had to wait for a table. Ever. I am happy we gave this place another chance. We will be coming back more often!

Ordered the Crab Fried Rice, Pad See Eww, and Hollywood Noodle Soup. ALL were excellent. Pad See Eww noodles were perfectly cooked. Not over done and just a little chewy. Well done. Soup was very tasty and hearty. Crab fried rice was very generous. They have a garlic sauce(Orange color) that paired well with everything and I’m already craving it again. A must try. Service was on point and friendly. FREE WiFi and Thai Ice Tea too(one per table) !!!

Basing my review on the take-out service ordered straight through Unilocal!Ordered dinner around 8PM, and they came within 30mins, and the delivery man was very nice and friendly. Only thing is I ordered the curry and it didn’t come with rice :(other than that the pad thai, and fish cakes were all pretty good! Decent Thai food, nothing fancy but good for the price!

Really love this place. Clean and contemporary décor; amazing prices for good quality, well seasoned Thai specialties. Tom Yum soup was perfectly seasoned. We will be back! Second trip a month later(as promised); Panang Curry was hot and spicy delicious. Updating our 4 star to a 5.

Best Thai food in the area. We don’t have much places to choose For Thai but this one is the best and most authentic. They also deliver very quickly which is great when you’re hungry but lazy to get up and go eat lol.

I honestly feel bad for this place for being located in such a shitty area. literally everything around it is like out of business so this is basically a hole in the wall restaurant that no one would ever find unless they just happened to be walking down the street, hence the ‘THAIFOOD’ sign they put out on the street lol. I’ve been here twice now and it just hasn’t left a lasting impression on me. to be completely honest, I don’t even remember the first time I ate here or what I even ordered. However, I intended on writing a review after the second visit so I made sure to form a full opinion this time. Firstly, I’m pretty sure they remodeled the inside, it’s pretty nice and their menus are nice and new too. I hate going to restaurants who hand out old menus that are all tattered up from too much use, so that was a plus. We ordered the hollywood noodle with egg noodle just because they had a big picture of it on the outside window advertising it and it looked pretty bomb. We also ordered a boat noodle with the flat rice noodle. I felt like everything had this weird overall sweetness to it even though I ordered the hollywood noodle as spicy and the boat noodle as medium. Everything just had an underlying sweet note to it which kinda sucked cus I’m a sucker for that spicy sour Thai flavor. Overall, this place doesn’t really cut it as a ‘good’ thai restaurant for me, maybe because I’m picky, but you can decide for yourself. However, it does the job if you’re just looking for whatever thai food. I do think it has potential because I’ll admit the broths of both dishes were pretty delicious, if only they were more sour/spicy than sweet. It’s also cool that you can choose what type of different noodle you want in a specific dish(egg noodle, flat rice noodle, etc.)

I ordered delivery from them using the Eat 24 app. It took just 40 minutes to receive my order. The delivery guy was very nice. The food was excellent. I ordered a soft shell crab, chicken pad thai and a mango sticky rice dessert. The soft shell crab was heavily battered in a decadent crispy shell, It came with sweet and tangy dipping sauce and a bed of lettuce. I didn’t just eat this. I inhaled it. I loved my chicken pad thai. The noodles were not clumpy. The sauce gave it just the right level of sweetness. The ratio of veggies to meat to noodles was perfect. The mango was a bit sour but that is not their fault. Mangos are out of season right now. I will definitely order from them again.

Visited here for the first time on a Sunday night around 8, they close at 9. They had a few tables, but nothing too overwhelming. We ordered the Tom Yum Edamame, Yellow Curry & Spare Rib Noodles. The edamame was okay, wasn’t necessarily worth it, but just wanted to try. The yellow curry was by far the best I’ve had in a long time. And the spare rib noodles never came. The first time they bought it the curry, it was the wrong one. The server wasn’t even apologetic about it. We had finish they yellow curry and the noodles still hadn’t come. Finally we went up and asked to cancel it, she had to check if they still could and it looked like they didn’t even make it. That was really disappointing. It’s a minimum $ 15 to charge it, ours came out to $ 14.70ish and they wouldn’t even swipe it. Not even out of inconvenience. Overall, the food was good, well the curry. But their service was terrible.

The food is authentic, made with grandma’s love. Sweet, sour, and spicy condiments at the table allows for one to go anywhere with the, already juicy, flavors. Thai boat noodle, with a side of crispy pork, is my favorite order. Actually, anything with Yum flavoring, larb, beef or papaya salad, is awesome. Just a side of crispy pork with everything is good.

I’ve come here before because it’s one of the closer Thai restaurants to my office. This time, I placed a bigger order for a family meal. After the transaction, I realized there’s a coupon for a free drink if I spent $ 15 or more. The guy said no I can’t use it until next time. I guess it makes sense since this place doesn’t seem to have as much traffic so they don’t want to give out free drinks if they can say no. It was a complete turn off though. I never like being tempted with getting free things then having it denied. Will I come back? Maybe for lunch. The younger gentleman was better when it came to service.

Like I said earlier, this place is under new ownership. I have been here in the past and from the old menu there’s only one dish that I always enjoyed eating here, the boat. Today I decided to try it again and this is my experience… yes, the place looks better inside. It’s clean & it has a modern decoration; white walls & nice frames with beautiful paintings. There was only one waitress who was also the cashier. I’m pretty sure this lady was the owner. Back to the food… i had the lunch special for $ 8. Flavor was good but the meat portion was poor, only 4 tiny pieces of beef, boomer. Most dishes doesn’t include the rice. You have to buy it separately. What’s the point? Just charge for one price that includes everything.

Love that they have the small and large option so we can try something else on top of noodles Too!!! Thai iced tea — very large glass and it will be perfect w some spicy noodles !!! They now offer some shrimp chips while u wait ! Who can say no to that ?! It’s something small but it’s a nice touch :)

The prices have raised, so now food is overpriced. $ 10+ for curry or pad thai? Sheesh. It took forever to get our food even though there was just the 2 of us and 1 other customer. I ordered the chicken Bangkok noodle($ 8), requesting not spicy, and I still received it pretty spicy. There is no more buy-2-get-1-free special on certain drinks. The décor is even more boring than before. The chairs are messily painted, which bothered me. You can see a lot of the food ingredients and supplies in plain sight when using the back exit. Albeit, some of the food was in a beverage refrigerator, but I still didn’t like seeing it; they should get a door or close it if they have one for the supplies closet. They had no air conditioning when we first walked in and turned it on a little while later, after we sat down. Not coming back here again; what a shame.

Tried the lunch special here and it was ok. Obviously it’s quite cheap and the taste was different than the other Thai places I frequent. The salads were passable, the wonton soup was ok, the dessert was pretty good. The green curry rice was not as rich or bold as other places where I’ve tried it and the Pad Kee Mao was just okay. It tasted more sweet and lacked wok heat. I think they added more sauce to it, but to me it was lacking that oomph(I got medium spicy) that I love about this dish. Service was okay and the girl was nice though!

More like a 3.5 stars, but my co-worker loved her food so so much, I rounded up ;) I took her here for lunch on a friday, she needed more lent-friendly options and I thought Thai food would be great! Parking: street parking is VERY limited, but there’s a pretty big lot in the back! Service: lacking… other Unilocal reviews are true, the service is a little awkward? But we got seated and received the menu and water promptly because we were the ONLY customers in there at 1:30 pm We DIDNOT get the lunch special menu :(Not sure if they stopped doing this?!? It was such a good deal FOOD: –Red Curry(lunch special) I had this last time I was here and it was delish!!! Full of flavors, just the right amount of food with the added salad for extra fiber –Yen-ta-fo($ 7.99) my co worker is OBSESSED. She got medium, mind you she’s not asian, and she conquered the entire bowl. So proud… –Boat noodle option 2($ 7.99) very good! comparable to the places I tried in Hollywood/Thai town. The liver, beef balls were on point, BUT some pieces of well done beef were pretty tough(ouch) OVERALL, I love their food quality; however, I can see how their lack of service can be a problem for those on a short lunch break. I would be back for their yummilicious food when im not in a rush!
