The best thai food in the SGV. We eat all over and this is the freshest with best taste. The soups are wonderful and everything has the right spice level. Oddly… the place is always empty. If you are a thai food freak u have the try this place!

We recently went here because we also had the coupon. It was about 6:00PM on a Wed. night and we were the only ones there, so it wasn’t looking very promising. We were seated and we started picking our items to make sure we had at least $ 35. We quickly noticed that our menus had different prices! Mine must have been the new menu because most of the items were about a buck or two higher. So be careful about this! When we started ordering, the guy tells us they were out of the Angel Wings, so we told him everything else we wanted, and we knew were going to be a little short of the $ 35; by about $ 2 or $ 3. I asked the guy if we could order some white rice, knowing that most Thai places charge you a few bucks for rice. He said yes, but that the rice doesn’t count towards the $ 35! Huh??? And he suggested we order another entre. Rather than argue about it, I just ordered a fried rice. As far as our other items, we played it safe and stuck with the standard stuff… panang curry, pad thai, pad see ew, etc. Overall, the food isn’t bad here. Not great, but not bad either. If not for the coupon, I highly doubt I’ll be back again. Mainly because there are tons of other much better Thai places in the San Gabriel Valley. Also, the service isn’t that good either.

The thai food is very good at this restaurant, but we would not go back to eat at this restaurant. The problem was that the owner who is also the server overcharged us an extra dollar on one entrée and also an extra $ 2 on another entrée. She also overcharged us for our drinks. We ordered three thai ice teas, but she only brought us two. I told her then that two thai ice teas will be good for us. When we got the bill, she charged us for three thai ice teas which the thai ice tea that she didn’t bring to us, she put the charge between the entrée prices. I questioned her about the overcharging. She frowned and said that she’ll correct the $ 1 overcharge for one entrée and correct the third thai ice tea charge. She wouldn’t change the other $ 2 overcharge on our other entrée. I can’t read thai so I asked her what each charge was on the bill. She wouldn’t tell me what the thai writing was so I questioned her from what I think she wrote for each entrée, «The menu states $ 6.95 for this entrée. Why did you charge us $ 8.95?» She told me that they just changed the price while she stared at the ceiling. I told her, «You can’t do that. Then you need to change the price on the menu first.» She wouldn’t answer me and just went off to redo our bill for the two corrections. Therefore, we still left the restaurant paying the extra $ 2 on that one plate. The food is good, but forget the service and the dishonesty of the owner for overcharging us. She told us once before when we ate there that she was the owner too and this time, she pretended that she was not the owner.

I’m a very busy person now, I have a very hectic full time job and I have no time to write reviews anymore. However my experience at Phra Nang has forced me to break my silence. … my friend and I came here on a sunday night. the place was packed! the line was long and their wait staff was courteous and expedient. their food was well worth the wait and it was so delicious… NO. I can’t do this anymore, I was going to write a full on sarcastic review but no I have to warn the Unilocal community straight up as it would be a crime not to do so after the numerous crimes phra nang has done to me. My friend and I really did come last sunday night, the place was absolutely deserted, only one party was in the restaurant, and another table which i thought was somebody eating was in fact the waitress’s daughter drawing with crayons after a closer inspection. We came in because I had bought a $ 25 coupon to this place. The terms said $ 25 of $ 35 with dinner/dine in. 18% gratuity added. and the rest is the normal terms and conditions that prints with every certificate. NOWHEREDOESITSAYTHE $ 35THRESHOLDDOESN’T APPLYTODRINKS. So we went ahead and ordered 2 appetizers: fried wonton($ 4.95), Fried squid(7.95), 2 entrees: pineapple fried rice(8.95), seafood pad see ew(8.95), 1 thai iced tea(1.95), 1 thai lemonade(2.50). The subtotal should have been $ 35.25(did all that calculation in my head at the time to get as close to $ 35 as possible =)). But after we ordered, the waitress told us that the coupon limit does not apply to drinks and pressured us to order another entrée. We paused for a while, but okay I suppose, they have almost no business, need to make ends meet, ok fine. I’ll give you a break. We ordered another entrée that was the waitress’ recommendation. A fried fish with curry(7.95). After a while, the waitress came with our drinks. The lemonade was horrible, was basically like lemonade but with artifical lemon flavor. Not sure about the thai ice tea as my friend had it. Then our appetizers came, okay, it was decent. I mean, fried food is pretty straight forward to make so the appetizers we’re palatable. Then came the entrees. Pineapple fried rice: rice was a little too overcooked, pineapple was not fresh. Tasted like fried rice I could’ve gotten at a bad buffet. Seafood pad see ew: Made the mistake of getting seafood. I should’ve known not to get seafood from a questionable restaurant. Squid was rubbery, mussels were not fresh at all and smelled bad, and the unfreshness of the seafood tainted the noodles so that the entire plate had the smell of rotten seafood. The fried fish with curry came, that was actually the only thing decent at the restaurant. But the biggest crime committed against me was the bill. $ 38.75 after tax and tip? REALLY? I thought at most it would only have been $ 25 or something. Then I double checked their calculations and I noticed that they charged us for items we didnt even make and tried to cover it up by making the ticket super messy and scribbly with thai letters. I informed the waitress and I said we only ordered 7 items, but there are 8 charges here. She claimed she got«mixed up» and«forgot» and apologized. She came back with the bill. Now she overcharged us for the fried wonton to $ 5.95. I told her to come again and she claimed that they had a new menu with the new prices. OKAY then, why didn’t you give me the NEWMENU? She actually tried to stand behind the«new menu» argument for a few minutes before I finally raised my voice because by now i’ve had enough. I don’t care if you have a new menu but you gave me the old one. Give me the new menu if you want to charge at those prices. Then I found another reason why our bill was so high, she charged the 18% forced gratuity on the after tax amount instead of the subtotal like how gratuity should be calculated. And as we all know, tax is super high here in california(9.75% in my county) but by then I just wanted to get out of there because I had enough. It’s okay I told myself, I won’t ever go back again and this place will probably go out of business very soon. So lets review the crimes: 1. Bait and switch tactic of using certificates and changing the conditions once u get there 2. overcharging menu items 3. charging for items never ordered 4. attempted coverup by writing in thai(or some kind of scribbly language) instead of ENGLISH. 5. making horrible food that would probably give me food poisoning if i ate any more of it 6. and other kinds of FRAUD BOTTOMLINE: PHRANANGISNOTONLY A HORRIBLEPLACETOGOFORFOODBUTALSOHASBADSERVICE, ISDISHONESTANDSHADY, ANDTREATSYOUWITHNORESPECT. been there a couple times and never being let down. You don’t want to go there if you are expecting good service. But you just can’t complain about the food. I am quite surprise that business is slow with such a good food. Here’s what i would recommend: Cat Fish Salad Tom Yam Kung

Boyfriend and I came here last weekend. I got Red curry and BF got Spicy Fried Rice. My curry had canned pineapple in it that smelled somewhat rotten. The spicy fried rice was pretty tasty with the fish sauce we poured on top of it. Service was very slow. It was a Sunday. There were 4 tables and one server. She had like 3 babies in the back crying the whole time so I think she was too busy to serve us. Overall the food wasn’t bad. Total with a limeade and thai iced tea was about $ 30 before tip(kinda pricey). Would have given a better review if my BF and I didn’t have stomachaches for 2 days after we ate there.

My boyfriend and I purchased certificates from so we decided to go here to eat. We ordered A LOT of food. Larb, pad-thai, papaya salad, fried ice cream, & thai iced tea. Nothing was tasteful. We would recommend it. The waitress was watching tv so she didnt really pay attention to us. There was hardly anyone there that night. The service wasn’t awesome. If you are really starving I suggest Noodle World instead.

The food is so so great here! I love the Tom Kha with chicken. They deliver too which is great. The prices are really good as well. The soup that I like is normally $ 9.95 — $ 15.95, here it is $ 7.95 and tastes better than the ones for more $. My husband, who is super picky, likes it too! He likes the chicken fried rice and orange chicken a lot. The staff is very very nice. I actually like it there so much that we are having my son’s birthday party there. They are all very nice to my son there and he loves going there.

I’ve only been here once and ordered togo. So I’m not sure about the service here. They seemed nice but it’s not like a fancy place so I wouldn’t expect excellent service anyways. The food at Phra Nang was quiet tasty. It’s the better thai place near my house so I would come here again to try other things.

1 star for service. dont know about the food the service was so slow and bad that my gf and i just got up and walked out. never going back. no one said hello as we walked in, nor did anyone point out what table we should sit at. once they did do that no one returned to take our order. they were so dead that day. how can you be so slow on a slow day? i expect slower service when a restaurant is packed but they barely had 2 tables with 2 – 4 people. i will not be going back to try the food. i can deal with bad food but not bad service.

I actually first found this restaurant on restaurant.com’s list. There are very few Thai restaurants listed on there, and when I checked on Unilocal for reviews, there is one 5 star review(by tiffany s.). So I took a risk and decided to redeem my gift certificate for the restaurant to try it out. I’m pleasantly surprised that there is now a decent and authentic Thai joint in Arcadia! I’m so glad we went there. We ordered the following: Papaya Thai Salad– Great! Very authentic, reminded me the one I had at the Thai Temple before they closed down food court. It was very tasty and the level of spiciness was perfect… I ate so much of it that I had to take a Pepcid. Portion is larger than most other Thai restaurants’. Ka-Nha-Pla-Kem(Stir-fried Chinese broccoli with salted fish) — It was pretty good, with lots of the leafy parts and no large stems that you cannot chew. Good source of fiber for the night. Pa-Nang Beef(red curry beef) — The curry was not too spicy, has a hint of sweetness to it. But the beef was a bit too tough to swallow. Maybe it’s the way they cut it? I will not order this curry with beef again… maybe shrimp will do next time. Catfish«Wok Style” — This is a very popular dish(told by the waitress) and I will definitely order it again. The catfish did not taste«fishy» at all. It’s lightly deep fried and sauteed in a wok with Thai red curry paste and mint leaves. The sauce resembled the Pa-Nang curry a bit. The catfish was still soft and tender and very yummy! A must try. I had a Thai ice coffee for beverage and sis had the Thai ice tea. The ice coffee was really too sweet for my taste. I originally ordered a fresh young coconut but they didn’t have inventory. =(Maybe they’ll get some in next time. The portions of all the dishes, with the exception of the papaya salad, were not large… we expected to have more left overs to take home, but didn’t. The gals that served us were very friendly. We also got our food fast since we were the only other table there during dinner time. The other table was a large family which were just about done with their dinner when we arrived. Another 2 guys came in after us, so that totaled 3 tables on a Wednesday night from about 7:30pm to 9:30pm. This kind of concerned me because I don’t want them to close down due to lack of business. The waitress told us that they’ve only been here for about a year and the owner had another Thai restaurant in Hollywood for many years before closing down and opening this one(with this new name). I guess not a lot of people know about the place yet. Perhaps they get busier on weekends. Thanks to tiffany s.‘s positive review that we were able to try this authentic Thai place in the S.G. area. It’s great to have this option so I don’t have drive down to Thai Nakorn in the OC when the cravings hit. Btw, the bill for the meal came to about $ 48(includes tax and 18% tip).

My lovely parents found this spot… see we’re Thai and my parents swear that when they come out of their hole they need to eat every Thai joint or else its like they are leaving their motherland… so needless to say-they found this yummers Thai spot in Arcadia. The best part ever is that its located next to some dope thrift stores!!! The food is awesome. We had fried fish with some red onion/mango salsa. Also had some squid and shrimp and you can tell them how spicy or mild you want it. We also had some really flavorful spinach washed down with Thai iced tea. Gotta check it out. They have a super cheap lunch special for $ 6 and the menu items are reasonable for lunch & dinner.
