T & M Auto Repair

Recommended by a close friend to check on engine lights on my 2006 BMW 750 Li. Did diagnostic and found transmission issues. Did not fix the problem but recommended me to take it to their mutual friend in a BMW dealer. Offered a small amount of money for appreciation but was not taken. This makes me feel even worse. From now on, I will bring other vehicles to T&M for service. They earned it.

They are really efficient considering how many customers they have. Reasonably priced. Been coming here for the past 3 years to get my Toyota Prius maintenanced. I trust their service just based on how many old Chinese ladies I see here every time.

I live over 30 miles away and drive here every time my car needs to be repaired. Recently took my car to 2 places, a local dealer and reputable repair shop near my house to avoid the drive. Both places wanted to charge me around $ 1500 for repairs on shocks, differential, steering fluid leaks, and strut bar. Not too bad considering I’ve had my car for 8 years without any major problems. After thinking it through some more, I decided to take my car for a 3^rd opinion and drove cross town to T&M. Arrived at about 9pm and surprisingly they were still open. Daniel asked to take my car for a test drive and visually inspect underneath my truck. His initial inspection was that I only needed a gasket and hose replaced. Waiting on a phone call to give me more info, but I’m sure I’ll be saving several hundred $‘s.
Pros: Honest, prices are reasonable, and they always look for the best option (not always about the $).
I feel most mechanics, repair shops want to repair if a part, equipment, is in the yellow. T&M will let you know if car part is in the red and repair is really necessary.

Hmm oil changes went from $ 20 4 years ago to $ 25 2 years ago to $ 30 this past weekend. Did I get ripped off because I’m a female? How depressing…

If you are looking for honest, skilled, trustworthy, and reasonably priced auto mechanics then T&M Auto Repair is the place for you. I’m so thankful my cousin told me about this place years ago when my car window broke and wouldn’t go back up! To make matters worse this happened towards the evening time and it was beginning to rain outside. The place I usually brought my car to said sorry we are closing. Daniel from T&M Auto Repair on the other hand kept my car overnight and fixed it in the morning! This was such a big relief for me because my garage at the time was loaded with furniture and I didn’t want to park my car in the driveway with a broken window when it was raining out. I will continue to bring my car here because of the high quality of service. Daniel makes you feel like family when you bring your car here because he is so kind and helpful.

I have been going to T & M Auto repair ever since I moved to Los Angeles 2 years ago. Ever since I found this place I have never gone to anyone else. Daniel is the person you should always go to whenever you are here.
You drive in to the front of their workshop, he comes to you and asks how he can help. He usually gives you a smile. However it can get rather busy, so please forgive him if he doesnt. You state what you want and he will take your car and move it into the shop or park it outside the workshop and would bring it in when it is your turn. He has many workers that he manages and he always looks at your car and informs his staff what to do. So Daniel analyzes and determines the problems.
Once his staff fixes the issues, he would do a check over to make sure everything is done properly and to his high standard. The wait may be a little long but for peace of mind that my car wont break down on me, I think I can afford an extra few minutes. He would come to you to say that everything is done or any recommendations (this is NOT up-​selling). He recommends what your car NEEDS done. At times he would tell me that something may need fixing later down the line but is not urgent now. So he is very thorough. Then you go through the quick and easy payment process.
He is indeed the most honest and trustworthy mechanic I have ever encountered. I moved towards Palm Springs and I would usually go to Arcadia to visit family AND of course see Daniel to get ANY car maintenance or fixes done.
So I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Daniel for all your car needs. Thank you Daniel for all your attention to detail on my cars over the years!

Diagnostics is not too expensive.
Lines are hideously long. Get there 30 minutes early, and hold your stake. Tons of people will come in at the time it opens, but Daniel is very acute in his senses of who came first.

Lazy and unprofessional. Could not find the reason for flat tire, went to Pep Boys and found the nail within 10 mins. Will not return in the future.

I’ve been coming here for 10 years now. Tony and Daniel are the most trust worthy people I know. I moved away from Socal a few years back but my son still comes here and they treat everyones car with care. Highly recommend them.

Prior to my experience here I did not think it was possible to use honest and auto repair shop in the same sentence. They proved me wrong. I came in because my car was making a grinding/​clunking noise whenever I would turn sharply or stop short. I figured it was a suspension issue and prayed it was just a bushing. So I brought my car in the morning and let them know what’s going on. 5 hours later I get a call the problem is completely fixed no up-​sale and very honest. The fix was 45 $ they could have honestly convinced me it was at least 200 $ or just replaced the bushing anyway and I wouldn’t have known. I am a student and working on a limited budget so expecting to pay 300 $ and being told 45 $ it was like Christmas came early. They definitely made a long term customer out of me, and I will be recommending this place to all my friends.

T&M is the place to go for all your car repairs. I initially started coming here for simple oil changes, only stopping by every now and then. When I purchased my own new car, I began to buy my own oil and filter and had them replace. Unlike other shops, they DO use the oil and filter you bring in. I know there’s a review saying that they switched out the oil… but that is only because they are busy and things get hectic and confusing. I caught that a couple of times and that is somewhat understandable… cars are piling up and people are impatient wanting to leave. Things need to move!
Anyway, my point of the review. My 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T Limited started having steering wheel clicking issues. This actually turned out to be a common defect that Hyundai has not done a recall. At the end, my entire steering column needed to be replaced. I called the dealer to get a quote and they gave me $ 2400 over the phone. If I bring in my car, they charge that ridiculous $ 150 diagnostic fee. I brought it to Daniel and he helped me get a used steering column that is in good condition (I didn’t mind because my car is already fully out of warranty…105k miles). I also told him that I was going on a trip to Montana and needed new tires. He gave me a good deal on the Sumitomo HTR Z III. Replaced all 4 and included balancing and alignment. The total bill? $ 1150. That is less than half of what the dealer quoted me. AND I got new tires. When I picked up the car, he said to go take it for a drive and make sure to be happy with it before paying. Most trusting mechanic I’ve met.

I usually come here with my S.O. because he’s been coming here since he was a wee lad. I noticed the staff is super friendly, quite efficient and fast. I never have any problems after having something repaired or maintenanced (new word I created :)

T&M Auto is the BEST mechanic I’ve ever been to, hands down, and that’s saying a lot because I am generally distrustful of mechanics. Daniel is super friendly and takes time to explain things to you. The prices are very reasonable and the turn-​around is fast even though they are consistently busy.
I have referred my whole family to this place and they are all happy with T&M. My boyfriend for instance, had to have his clutch replaced and it cost him around $ 600 (where a former mechanic charged him $ 1000 a few years ago).
Definitely recommended.

T & M is a trusted auto repair shop of me and my friend’s for many years. The owner is Taiwanese and he’s very down to earth and approachable. Price wise they’re probably the leader around here no question, especially with the possibility of negotiating in some cases, you can get some sweet deals here for sure.
They have grown from one side of the shop to two units now, and their business is crazy good nowadays. That brings some woes though, as you would expect, as the wait time grows longer and longer now,. Just the other day removing nail from a tire took about 2 hours, with many other people waiting around. One other thing is that I noticed random things like engine light or something will show up after their service very often now. I don’t know whether it’s because they’re too rushed and forgot to make sure everything is fine before signing off or what, but it’s usually minor thing that they missed.
Overall it’s hard to find another quality shop like T & M around here, just make sure you got some patience and you’ll be taken care of.

Woohoo, thank you Unilocaler’s. T&M Auto Repair was a fantastic find! They fixed my cars A/​C in less than an hour for under $ 100! This after their neighbor Evolution Automotive refused to even look at my car because it was an American car. But my car is a Pontiac Vibe, which was maunfactured by a GM /​Toyota Joint Venture Plant in Oakland. This is the same plant that makes the Vibe’s sister car the Toyota Matrix, which both sport a full Toyota power train and parts. The only difference was in the body styling and accessories (See that review for Evolution Automotive)
Daniel was great as reported here. Within 20 minutes he diagnosed my car and in a hour I was out of there. I appreciate how fast they operate, no chit chat there. I definately recommend this auto repair shop.

Since they did such a great job on replacing my brakes on one car, I decided to call them to see if they work on German imports. Brought it in for a schedule B. Again, they were busy with new customers arriving every 5 minutes, but the owner was nice enough to acknowledge us as soon as he saw us.
Where most places (dealerships are much higher) charge about $ 200+ for schedule B, T&M charged $ 100. Though they had a line of cars waiting to be worked on, he said it should be ready in one hour. After grabbing some food, we decided to call & check in after an hour and sure enough, the car was done and coming off the rack.
Once again, very satisfied by the owner, the service and how quickly they get things done.
