I taken my Lexus here a couple times always left happy. Honest and reliable. I recommended my sister and she also has a Lexus and she also loves it

Recently took my Lexus to a different mechanic where they found a bunch of stuff this mechanic did not tell me about and they found stuff that he said he had fixed or changed. which he didn’t beware! You get what you pay for.

Just got an oil change at Evolution Automotive recently and replaced the front brakes. The wait time is usually long but the service is as good as one can get with a honest price so no complain. I don’t think you can find many auto repair shops in the San Gabriel Valley that customers show up before 730am waiting for its opening.
Just talked to a customer this morning while waiting for my wife’s car to be serviced. The guy said he’s been a Evolution Automotive customer for 20 year and Surya confirmed that. Running a small business for 20 years is no easy task; there must be something the owner does right to keep existing customers and attract new ones.

Awesome. I bet you will not go to any other mechanic in the area once you meet Surya. He was recommended by one of my colleagues. Very humble person indeed and he will NOT ask you for any unnecessary repairs. I have seen people come to him from far off places. He was my go-​to mechanic until I moved from the area. Highly recommended, just pay a visit to him and you will know.

Brought my wife’s Lexus to get a brake job. Chose this place based on reviews and location. Was not disappointed! Older gentleman was the only one working at the time, told me to come back because he was super busy, but he was very polite and recommended I only replace the front, because the rears were in good condition. Price was very fair, completed within the time he specified, and he didn’t try to up-​sell me. He also showed me the new and old parts (without me having to ask), that’s a big plus in my book. Will definitely return when it needs more work!

This place was recommended by a Co worker and I can honestly say that this is the most honest person/​mechanic I have known. He does not try to up sale you at all. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Update. .. Do not go here for anything other than an oil change! I went in this morning because my car was slow to start and the check engine light was on. I left my keys and went to sit outside. Fast forward an hour and a half and I went in to ask him how much longer it was going to be. His response, a few hours at least, he didn’t realize I’d been waiting (even though he passed by me multiple times outside). He was doing all of the oil changes first, even the ones that got there after me. When I asked him when I hsllshould bring the car back he said he didn’t know. The afternoon at least but he couldn’t guarantee anything. I repeat, do not go here for anything other than an oil change. That is his main business and obviously all that matters to him.

We only take our car to Evolution Automotive. The owner is so fair with prices and service. EXCELLENT work. He has also helped us many times with other things like tires or a broken window. Both recommendations cost us a lot less than we thought. We are very thankful for this auto repair shop and an HONEST man that runs the business.

Always get great service and an honest evaluation.

Unfortunately, I have to report an Oil change scam.
I brought my own 5QT Mobile 1 0w-​20 which is $ 29.00 bought from Walmart, and the Bosch oil filter which is around $ 10.00 bought from Walmart. I paid $ 10.00 for oil change.
What I got:
1. The technician did not give me back the bottle which supposed to be given back with 1 QT oil left over.
2. I asked him where is big bottle, and he said he poured the whole bottle in, so there is no left over. I said it’s not supposed to have all 5 QT oil in the engine, but he said it’s ok.
3. I bought a pipe sucked two water bottles (500ml)oil out from the dipstick hole 3 days after the oil change. The color of the oil was so dark. Pictures attached.
4. I brought the bottle with the oil sample back to Surya, and he said the color was normal because the engine always have some left over oil after each oil change. 5QT for once is ok.
What I did:
1. I brought my car to Walmart and got a oil change again.
2. I asked the technician was the oil drained dirty? He said that was pretty dirty.
3. I asked him how long do you think I have not changed the oil. he said looked like 4000 – 5000 miles. That’s exactly the miles from last last oil change.
4. I asked him is it possible just replace the oil filter without change the oil? He said it’s possible.
5. I waited 3 days after the oil change, I suck the oil out and compare the color. Picture attached.
What I want to say is:
I want thank the technician who didn’t return the oil bottle to me. If he didn’t tell me he put all 5 QT oil in my engine, I wouldn’t suck the extra oil out, and I couldn’t get to see the color of the oil. This was an other good lesson I learned: never over trust anyone. always double check if possible. Good reputation on Unilocal doesn’t mean any trustworthy.
Sometimes people felt good because they didn’t know what they really get.

Found Evolution around 5 years ago and have brought 1998 landcruiser, 2003 lexus gs300 and 1994 honda accord for any service needs and always leave satisfied. I am usually surprised at how low the charges are compared to what I have paid at other shops in the past. Simply the best repair shop I have ever used and Surya is a terrific person.

Just got back from E.A. Surya is very nice and honest mechanic. My Odyssey air conditioner was blowing out hot air, and my regular mechanic was closed. I searched Unilocal and found A1 automotive first. I called them and they said they would charge me 50 dollars just to diagnose the issue. When I called A.E., Surya told me to bring my van in for him to look at free of charge. When I got there, he immediately took my car into his shop to check it. He was honest enough to tell me that he didn’t find any issue. My car still have enough freon, and my air conditioning system is still cool.
I will definitely return to E.A. for all mechanical needs.

This is the perfect shop to bring your Lexus for service if you’re looking for a dealership substitute. I’ve come here several times for things varying from oil changes, to brake pad & rotor replacement.
I’ve checked around, and no one quote’s a better price than here. Suri comes off very sincere, and always quotes a great price off the bat– no need to haggle.
Since the pricing here is so aggressive, they always have plenty of work to keep them busy. If you want to get your car serviced here, do NOT show up at noon expecting same day service. Your best bet is to show up a few minutes BEFORE they open for business.

Great mechanic, send all my friends and family there. You will not be disappointed other than the wait. Honest, super knowledgeable, and extremely reasonable prices!
Surya’s expertise is with Honda, Toyota, Lexus, Acura, etc. In reality, he can fix almost any Japanese cars out there with maybe the exception of hybrids. I was told by another customer that Surya fixed his American car for less than what the local dealer charged him just to diagnose the problem.

Non-​Chain auto body and oil lube shop for mostly Japan model cars. I asked if they also service Toyota Prius’s and they do not. Surya is an honest mechanic and takes the time to explain the car’s issues to you. He also charges affordable prices for the repairs.
I came in recently to have a valve cap gasket repaired on a Camry because I went years without dealing with it and motor oil was slowly seeping onto the engine and I could smell a very unappealing burning smell inside the car cabin. Since I was going to repair this I might as well replace my spark plugs since I should have those replaced at 100k miles.
I called at the end of the day to get an update. Surya was completely honest that the valve gasket cap was repaired, but his mechanic had forgotten to replace the spark plugs. He could have easily told me the spark plugs were done and I wouldn’t have known the difference since the vehicle has V6 engine and some of the spark plugs require getting into the back of the engine to replace the 3 spark plugs. I thanked him for his honesty and since he was very apologetic that the task was missed he told me I could bring the car in the future and he’ll replace the spark plugs without charging additional labor. He’s got a long term customer.

Thanks again for repairing my daughter ‘s Honda Accord.
It is very pleasant thing I could find honest and skillfull technician near by home.

This is my favorite place to get my Lexus services. Surya is very trustworthy and his prices are very fair. I never get that sleazy feeling that other service centers give me when I go there. No complaints here!
I slept less than 6 hours last night to get here early to avoid the crowded wait! Totally worth it. Satisfied customer here.

I took my Toyota Corolla 1999 here for oil change and tire rotation. I was actually planning to go to LVL Auto Repair for the $ 20 oil change and tire rotation in the next «plaza». But I missed the entrance and got to this one. Before we started the service, I asked for price and I’m sure I heard $ 25.17 (is only $ 5 difference compared to the original shop I was planning to go, so I just stayed here). But when they are done with my car and I go to pay, he told me it is $ 35.17!
And what I didn’t like the most was that I was holding my credit card in my hand ready to pay at first, but when I heard the price is not what I heard in the beginning, I stalled a little, trying to think what to do, he just took my card and swiped for $ 35.17. And then he told me $ 25.17 is for oil change and $ 10 for tire rotation… I asked from the beginning for both oil change and tire rotation and you told me is $ 25.17 and said I heard wrong…
NEVER coming back again! With all the positive feedback that this shop has, I think is probably for «car» service, but NOT for «customer» service!

Wow, speak of discrimination! I went here because it got great reviews on Unilocal,but from the point I drove up, the looks I got from the service attendant was as if I had landed from another planet. When I went in to see if they could work on my cars A/​C, all I got was that they did not work on American cars. I have a Pontiac Vibe GT and would discount my review except that the Vibe is the sister car to the Toyota Matrix! I even get my parts for it from the Toyota dealers as this car was produced by Unity Motors a joint venture plant in Oakland between GM and Toyota!
The car has a Toyota engine, Toyota Transmission, Toyota power train and a Pontiac Body. So you would think that an Independent Toyota Specialist would know this, well apparently Evolution Automotive is still in the Jurassic Period because they refused to look at my car. Fortunately my fellow Unilocalers also recommended his neighbor T&M Auto Repair, who got my A/​C working again in a couple of hours for under a $ 100! Fantastic! Sorry Evolution Automotive, you’ll need to evolve some more is you ever want to earn my business.

Excellent service! Came here for an estimate, and the owner came out, examine our car and explain everything to us in detail.
He explained our option clearly and told us all our price option in detail. We got our uncle (who was a mechanic) to take a look at this car before him. So we knew that he is right on! Got an reservation for the next morning. And got everything fixed on time just as he promised!
I guess that we finally found an honest shop to repair our car from now on!
The only down side… There is always a line in this shop! Come early!
