We were told that there may be a table ready in 20 minutes, and that the hostess would call us when one was ready. There were at least 10 tables open with no reserved sign on them. We gave her our phone number. 30 minutes later, we went back. No phone call. She acted like we were there for the first time. She proceeded very rudely to sit us at the worst table in the room. My husband asked politely if we could be seated at a different table, and she rolled her eyes and gave him a nasty look, and led us to a table, threw the menus down and huffily walked away. About 5 minutes later, a server came by and hastily set glasses of water on the table without acknowledging us. We sat there sipping our water for 30 minutes while no one approached us or acknowledged that we were even there. Many servers kept walking by, but it was obvious that we were being ignored. It’s too bad, because we probably would have had a check close to $ 100. We got up and left, and didn’t even get to order. They were open for another 2−½ hours so I know we weren’t there close to closing time. And there were many tables empty so they were no where near capacity, and there were plenty of staff on duty. We were dressed decently and didn’t smell or look bad either. Actually we were quite kind and courteous to them.

The food looks amazing! We started with brussel sprouts as An appetizer– yum! The bread basket was delicious too. Tomato basil soup– amazing! Our actual dinner — looked fantastic but was just ok. Maybe we weren’t hungry after all the starters. Lol. My steak was ordered as medium well and came out well. My husbands meatloaf was just weird. My friends salmon was good though. I would definitely go back but avoid the meatloaf and order the steak more medium. :)

I wish the food was better here. It smelled of extremely strong fish smell which seemed like a very unfresh when we came in. The appetizers we ordered were brussel sprouts and short ribs. Both were good. The meal was not so good. At our table we had two burgers and one Asian salad. Both people eating the burgers only ate a few bites because it was so poor. I really wanted the Asian salad to be good because I love salads and I was really needing some fresh veggies. I couldn’t even eat it because the pickled cabbage was so sour. I tried to eat a few bites of the butter lettuce and the fried wonton strips. The dressing would have been good but the taste made everything so sour I just couldn’t do it. And I am not a picky eater so this was a big deal, especially since the price isn’t on the cheap end. I hope they can take this review and improve upon some things since we are only out of town visitors.

We gave this place a try and we’re very pleased with the cobb salad and the fish and chips. The server was excellent. The place was very noisy and it was difficult to have a conversation.

Wonderful restaurant! We have been coming here over the last 3 years and never been disappointed. Great choices on the menu of freshly made dishes. Great bar service and drink selection. The service is always stellar and welcoming. On our most recent visit we celebrated graduation and our server made it extra special.

Really love this place. Last time I went, however, I tired to order drinks well before midnight but was not aloud the«happy hour» price. Even tho the website said the happy hour goes until 12:00. I ordered with at least thirty minutes before the end of happy hour, and when I approached the bartender about it, he simply said, «take it up with my boss.» Sounds sketch to me. Get with it Plaza, please. Or do I need to take-it-up-with-your-boss?

Service was very slow when I say at the bar. Had to wave down the bartender after 5 – 7 minutes of sitting there. I ordered a bowl of the clam chowder and a large house salad with chicken. The portion of the large salad was super small. I may have to get fast food later due to hunger. The clam chowder was bland, thin, and almost no vegetables/clams. It was basically cream. I had to add salt and pepper just to give it taste and oyster crackers to thicken it up. The bartender did make a come back after not acknowledging me in the beginning. He was friendly and got my food out in a timely manner.

Have been here probably ten times in the last few years and, wow, this place has REALLY gone downhill! Today was definitely the last straw when we were served RAW chicken!!! Myself and my daughter actually ate some! It was clear that the cooks did not want to be there, slamming the plates on the counter and making remarks about the customers who didn’t want to cook for themselves. The fish and chips were so greasy there was literally a puddle of grease on the plate. The arugula salad was a pile of arugula with the tiniest sprinkle of nuts, apples, and cheese. The waitress was too busy to be very attentive and overall, the experience was very disappointing. The Plaza Grill does not live up to their reputation anymore. We will not be back.

I came here 3 times and all 3 times I’ve gotten the same thing because it’s absolutely delicious!!! It’s the Cajun chicken Alfredo! Soooo good, chicken tender and nice char on the outside, good amount of al dente on the pasta too :) over all food was good! Minus 1 star for customer service(impossible to reach them on the phone certain days, frustrating when trying to put an order in for take out)

My wife and I went for the first time; we ordered the the brussel sprouts appetizer which my wife enjoyed(I do not like brussel sprouts at all). I enjoyed the shepherd’s pie, while my wife had the salmon which she thought was very good. I ordered an «after dinner drink» called a «Plaza Café along with a slice of vanilla cheesecake. I recommend the drink, but skip the cheesecake — nothing special. Atmosphere is a bit noisy, server was slow, but we will go back again to see if that was just a first take.

Went here today for lunch, had the fish and chips it was soggy, greasy crap. This was the dish I thought was good some months before? Why the fuck can’t this place at least be consistent? The breading was different and not good! The greasy and flavorless nasty-ass fries didn’t help. Is that frozen pre breaded cod? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say yeah. Buddy had meatloaf, I tried his. Nasty, how do you poor Humboldt folks do it? Eat this sorry ass food that’s found at 95% of the eateries here??? Cajun chicken Alfredo? Are you kidding me, I’ve tasted it, doesn’t work! EVER! Close the kitchen! Please no more! Oh and I almost forgot to mention the price of that sad disgusting frozen fish and soggy greasy fries, $ 14.00 Hey owner dude, you’re short and your food is shit!

This place was recommended by the hotel clerk, so we decided to give it a try. We started with the fried calamari, which came with tarter and aioli sauces. It was lightly breaded, not greasy with a bit of a kick, probably some cayenne pepper. It was very good. I had the meatloaf and my boyfriend had a buffalo bleu burger, both of which were very yummy, tho his was messy. Service was good. A bit pricey but not out of the ordinary. A bit too loud and cold for my taste, however. Overall quite good and I’d definitely come back.

I got the salmon, which wasn’t very good. It was served with crab which made it taste extremely fishy, it was not properly seasoned. I asked the waiter if I could get the cajun chicken Alfredo instead, he apologized and was very polite and put my new order in. It took an additional 20 mins to get the food, by then I had to get it Togo. I was very upset. But never the less it was tasty.

Great drinks, great food, what more could you ask for? The Humboldt Fog Burger is one of the best burgers I’ve had — local goat cheese, crispy kale, balsamic onions, bacon and some sort of a garlic sauce. I ordered it approximately five times before my boyfriend convinced me to try something else on the menu. The bacon mac and cheese was pretty good, I’ve just had better macaroni and cheese. Plus it just didn’t hold a candle to the Humboldt Fog Burger. The Caesar salad, while simple, was well-made, as were the sauteed Brussels sprouts. As far as appetizers go however the calamari is amazing. Tender, practically melts in your mouth, well-seasoned, with yummy dipping sauces — the green one is great! I’m not really a cocktail drinker, but the Meet the Press cocktail with black cherry vodka is excellent. I’ve heard their happy hour is great, but I haven’t checked it out yet!

I went here for drinks so I don’t know how the food is. The ambiance was nice and laid back. I like that they have a late night happy hour. My beer was only $ 4. We ordered at the bar and service was good. The bartender was quick and polite. I’d definitely go back and try their food.

My mom and I wanted to go to a special dinner a drinks so we chose Plaza Grill! We started with drinks-I had a Zombie and she had one of the Mules. They were delicious! Excellently made and strong enough to warrant the price. For dinner, I ordered the tofu burger and my mom ordered the Humboldt Fog burger. My tofu burger was delicious, perfectly cooked and had delicious sautéed onions and mushrooms, and with super fresh avocado on it! The fries were super great-crispy and soft, perfectly seasoned and just perfect. My mom could not stop raving about her burger! Perfectly cooked with an excellent amount of cheese. The ciabatta rolls were the perfect compliment. The sweet potato fries were delicious as well. The service was fantastic and everyone was so nice! This place is great.

All I can say about this place is: meh. And that’s pretty much all I’ve ever told anyone who’s asked about it. How’s the food? Meh. How are the drinks? Meh. How’s the service? Meh. If I could give it exactly 2 and a half stars, I would. The food isn’t great, but it’s edible. The drinks are drinkable, but usually kinda weak. The service is alright, nothing special. The prices are… alright. It’s just a regular old, run of the mill, postured as a slightly higher end restaurant. You go, you eat, you get a drink, you go home and forget it immediately. The more memorable times I’ve gone there have been with the SO and some friends after we’d gotten drinks somewhere else and shown up a little loaded. Other than that? Meh.
