Very odd menu, special was Beets 3 Ways, tasted ok, but very small portions. Beet chips were too salty.

Came here the other night with a friend and we were greeted promptly and shown the wine/beer menu as soon as we were seated. It nice to know our options because it was our first time there. We ordered the perfetto plate, which was beautifully presented. Everything tasted great and fresh. Our waiter was also extremely friendly and helpful.

I will continue to give this place a try because it seems to have quite a following and the food I have had here has been good. However, I have to agree with the other reviewers who have been disappointed by the service. I have been here both when the place was jam-packed and nearly empty and each time I felt like the server gave the minimum amount of contact possible. As other reviewers have stated, I’ve also experienced a long wait time for food when I was one of the few parties in the restaurant. Like I said, I’ve enjoyed all the food I’ve had here, but the service makes me reluctant to come back.

Food was marginal at best. Very disappointed. Service, very unprofessional. Waitress barely said 2 words to me in over an hour. I won’t be going back!!!

Great tapas, small bite restaurant with an excellent selection of wine and some good beers on tap. The staff is very attentive and the food is super fresh and local. I’m not a local and go to a lot of restaurants due to my travel schedule and this is the real deal.

The food and service here were delectable. Jessie was our waitress and was simply delightful, warm and welcoming. My hubby and I enjoyed Saturday brunch here with our two dogs on the front deck. We were seated quickly and both ordered the Benedict specials and opted for salad and fruit instead of the standard potatoes. It was obvious that everything was deliciously homemade. Will definitely want to stop here for dinner next time we are in Arcata.

Highly recommend! I thought it was just a wine bar and didn’t realize it was a restaurant until today. Had brunch and it was delightful. Great service, nice choice of a variety of mimosas, I had one with passion fruit. Garden Benedict had delish kale with garlic and the tomatoes in with the county potatoes was a nice touch. They’re opening a new location behind the Coop soon and I look forward to trying it.

We came for dinner, not necessarily the wine bar. We ordered a flight and the wines were good(and pricey). I ordered the Brisket on potatoes and the brisket was tender and the sauce added plenty of flavor to the potatoes. The potatoes weren’t very warm, which I thought was odd. Overall, okay experience.

So impressed by the dinner my husband and I had the other night. Since we were celebrating a special birthday, it made our dinner stakes a little high. We took Unilocal’s recommendation and went for it– 4 stars with a healthy amount of reviews sealed the deal. We made a reservation just in case and I’d recommend you do too if you rather not risk having to wait to be seated. The restaurant is intimate and not too big(good news, they are opening a bigger place just blocks away but more info on that later). Our waiter was fabulous and took very good care of us. Everything we tired was absolutely delicious… I highly recommend the Brussels sprouts to get things started and do not shy away from it because it has blue cheese because it’s not over powering and just right. We saw lots of people ordering the cheese and charcuterie platters and those looked amazing too, maybe next time. I had the beef brisket and my concern was that it was going to be fatty and I was assured it wouldn’t be. Guess what?! It was perfect! So glad I went for it… My husband had the Mediterranean chicken and he said the flavors of that dish took him«home». That’s always a good thing. We truly had a great night and the meal delivered and then some… The chef is very talented and it’s obvious she has a passion for creating delicious food. Their menu has something for everyone. OOOOH, and should they have cheesecake available, I HIGHLY recommend you make room for it. We had a small piece left because we were just stuffed from our meal! We had a tiny piece left and shamelessly we asked for a box(never had boxed something so small)! Don’t judge. We can’t wait to go back and look forward to their second restaurant opening soon! Keep an eye out for Harvest which will be a few blocks away from their current location and near the Co-op. They are not closing this location just expanding their offerings… Lucky Arcata! Thank you Chef Natalie and Shannon, our cool waiter!

Disclaimer I am not a local but rather a tourist. This is the worst place I have eaten in this town by far. The service was soo slow. If you have two hours to kill and don’t mind waiting for over 15 just to get a menu, then another 10 minutes to get a waiter to come to you to bring you the nastiest tap water with no ice and wait over 45 for your food then knock your socks off and come here. The food was okay but the prices are way too over priced even for me who is use to paying a lot for food. They don’t bring out all the plates at the same time. They take forever depending on what you order. Two of us completed our food before the rest of the party.(See attached photos). They even took my friends food away from him before he even finished it. He was mid bite with a fork in his mouth and all. To top it off the wine glasses are barely filled. If you love horrible service with overpriced food. Go for it.

1st we’re seated with no menus, 2nd took forever to get an order for drinks, 3rd let’s not mention how weird the water tastes, 4th legit took 40 minutes plus just to get our food! Subpar.

The place is cute. The service was good. The wine selection was varied enough for the novice wine drinker. The place is probably best for wine and appetizers vs. full dinner. The bread wasn’t good and we LOVE bread. The special salad for the night was just boring. Nothing special but honestly not bad either. Luckily the specialty entrée tonight was excellent otherwise we would most likely give this place 2 stars. We had the veggie ratatouille over polenta with chicken and chèvre. It was fantastic and plenty for two. I would caution the restaurant against storing food take out containers out in the open in the bathroom. Even though they were in clothe bins they were accessible to all and not protected from nasty bathroom germies. Ew.

My friend and I were traveling the area and looking for dinner. We came across this place that has delicious food and great wine! I had the kale salad and my friend and the beef brisket. Both were absolutely delicious. It was a great quiet atmosphere. The proportions were huge so think about sharing!

Wow, this was a great restaurant. The food was delicious. The wine was reasonably priced. I had the slow beef brisket and a side order of Brussels sprouts. The only small complaint is that the food is not really small plate, the proportions were large and could definitely be shared. Not a bad thing!!!

Fantastic! I sat on the patio one evening and everything was wonderful. I had the cheese plate and a glass of Dominio Pinot Noir. Both we’re excellent. I finished it off with specialty cheesecake and left in the greatest food coma ever! The best part was how friendly the server was. She was knowledgable about all of the menu, including their extensive wine list. Their wine list is AMAZING! I recommend Crush to any and all who visit Arcata.

Based on Unilocal reviews we went to Crush for a quick bite to eat before closing. We enjoyed wine, cheese & meat plate, salmon dinner and chicken. My kids who were unhappy we didn’t go to the«diner» next to the hotel loved the chicken dinner. They loved the meat and cheese plate so much they ordered the cheese plate for dessert. It would have been nice if it offered different cheeses from the appetizer cheese plate. We caught a bit of the entertainment and although he was good the sound was a bit loud for the size of the room. Overall we enjoyed the food and experience for our overnight stop in Arcata.

Well I just showed up at 9:40 with all signs saying open. We were greeted at the door by the«bartender”/only guy there… He sat us and gave us drink menus. When I asked for a food menu he said the owner called and said to close the kitchen early. Why couldn’t the«bartender» mention this at the wait to be seated sign is beyond me but I am sure we will never try this place!

Crush is still one of the best meals around the Humboldt bay area. We returned for Mother’s Day brunch this past Sunday. and it was a wonderful meal once again. Fresh choices with local ingredients and generous portions at a fair value — Crush has it going on. My wife ordered the specialty eggs Benedict — two poached organic eggs, with fresh local mushrooms and prosciutto served atop biscuits with hollandaise. It looked great and she said it tasted as good as it looked. Our son ordered the Huevos Rancheros — served with warm tortillas in a large bowl — it did not last very long and when we asked him how it was, he just smiled(so it must have been good). I ordered the Humboldt Benedict — a twist from traditional — two poached eggs served over albacore tuna with Larrapin sweet mustard sauce, again over a warm biscuit — also a generous portion and it was very good. Along with endless coffee for me and couple of specialty mimosas for my wife — this is a great place for Sunday brunch. Still a solid 4 Star eatery.

The ambiance is great, but the space is limited. However, it made it intimate, and not cramped. Our service was spectacular. I can’t remember our servers name, but he was fantastic. Our menu was pre fix for Valentine’s Day, and they paired the wine with each dish. It was romantic, and the food was delicious. Our server was knowledgable, and came to our table just the right amount of times. My husband and I were able to eat, and enjoy each other. We had such a good time that we sat and talked, ate, and drank for over 2 hours. We highly recommend this venue.
