My son and I love this place. He likes the grilled cheese and I like the garlic mushroom with soy. Only bummer is we miss seeing Shawna here.

As an east coaster, one thing I miss from back east is great food… these guys are the real deal… I have eaten cheesesteaks at Ginos and Pat’s in philly and these guys are right up there with them… The secret is the bread… we have decent local bread here, but nothing compared top east coast bread… these guys custom order from Amorossos from philly every week which makes these guys the best. APD makes a cheese steak on Brio rolls which is ok, but the philly cheese steak Shoppe beats it every time hands down. The prices are reasonable and the staff are great… most of them have been there for multiple years which is a testiment to the new management. 2 thumbs up!

This place has some of the best Chill Cheese fries in town. They’re reasonably priced too. Every time I’ve come in the staff is always welcoming and quick to serve

Before I suddenly developed a horrible soy allergy, I used to get the soy garlic mushroom… I can’t eat here anymore because I don’t eat meat and I can’t eat soy so I’m pretty much out of options, but I remember the days… a little greesy for my taste but it’s just so comforting on a bad day to indulge in a greassy vegetarian philly. I miss it sometimes.

It’s average at best, but I find myself craving it every few months and needing to go. I tend to get the Classic Cheese Steak — I had high hopes for the Garlic/Mushroom one, but it was oddly lacking flavor. The fries are disappointing. Garlic fries are made garlicky by dumping garlic powder on top of them, which is blasphemy in my book. Use fresh garlic or GTFO. Student discount is nice though.

I really enjoy this place. Good food and good prices. I would only recommend that they serve fresh cut fries. They offer beer and sodas which is nice and there Meatzilla sandwich is bomd. The employees are friendly and cool to talk to. Great place to grab lunch or dinner :)

My Husband, Son, and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat for the road. We had the classic philly cheese steak sandwich, which was very good, but over priced. Hot, fresh and alot of cheese. We also had the garlic fries, those weren’t all that great. They tasted like they just sprinkled garlic salt or powder on them. The service was good, and the staff was friendly, and very helpful. A so-so place to eat.

Really tasty, but pretty pricey for what it is. The atmosphere was eh, and so were the staff. All in all, i’m not compelled enough to go again. It’s decent, but not worth s second trip, especially with so many other great places around.

When the name of your restaurant involves the name Philly Cheese Steak, that should be your staple. I’ve eaten many cheese steaks from all over New York, Los Angeles, Portland, and this is the worst I’ve had. The meat was very bland, the onions were sweet onions(I’ve never had sweet onions on a Philly before), the mushrooms were completely unseasoned, and the bread was mushy. Just gross really and on the greasy side I gave them two stars instead of one because the coleslaw is a dutch style and was pretty good, the owner was really nice, and service was quick. Their prices are pretty good I think, portion size was decent to good, and the eating area was okay(nothing special but not dirty.) If you’re in the mood for a Philly I would skip this place and instead drive down to Eureka where the flavor is pretty good(prices are kinda high in Eureka though.)

I’ve wanted to try this place ever since I heard about them. The service was good, they were friendly. I got a junior Philly cheese steak with a side of fries, the food was decet, though I’ve had better. The reasons I’m giving them 3 stars is because A.) The shakers had visible, sticky grime on them, and we had to use a napkin to use them, B.) The bathroom was disgusting, C.) It was absolutely freezing inside, D.) I could not find any prices on the online menu, and online ordering was down. I think I will try the Eureka location next time.

So I have been here many times before, but not as of late. I got the traditional philly cheese steak sandwich. The steak was tasty, and the fries were fresh. Side note, the public restroom is home to there floor mop, which is in desperate need of changing. Also I would suggest having two mops, one for the kitchen and one for the lobby, so you don’t mop the kitchen grease into the lobby tile. The floor was quite slick on this rainy afternoon.

Yes. I am the DUKE of Philly Cheesesteak Shop. LOL. For now anyway. Really is the best cheesesteak EVER! You definitely must get the cheese fries.

Food was average. I was looking forward to the garlic fries and found that they do not use real garlic… Just smother fries in a garlic salt. Also– the meat on the Philly was good and they gave a generous portion. I did not find the sandwich sloppy as others stated. I enjoyed the sandwich and not the fries. I was in the Arcata location where the music was playing so loud it gave me a headache. I could not hear my number being called and lord knows I could not carry on a conversation. Finally the smell was very unpleasant. I would have sat outside had it not been so cold. The owner needs to find an effective way to get fresh air circulating. Do not eat inside if you are sensitive to smells.
