Came yesterday (Memorial Day) for some brisket. Got the brisket sandwich, potato salad, and peach cobbler. Mike (owner) gave me a sample and I knew then that I made a good choice. The previous Unilocalers weren’t lying, he makes some good bbq! Unfortunately before I could finish my food, someone else ate the remainder! Lol The brisket was flavorful and I liked the sauce even tho I could tell it was bottled. The potato salad was mayo and dill based; Im more of a mustard pot. salad girl but it was interestingly good. I really liked the peach cobbler as well! So Im back today for another sandwich and cobbler. Even tho he’s only 5 mins away from my house Im gonna have to stay away. I’ll be bigger than a house if I come back daily. smh

The owner went above and beyond for us. Very helpful and nice. The sausage and brisket were good. The boudan and potato salad were out of this world though.

Mike was friendly and fun to visit with. His pork rib sandwich was huge and delicious and his brisket sandwich was too. I would definitely eat here again when I’m in the neighborhood. It is a great little roadside BBQ shack.

Great barbecue and friendly service. The ribs, sausage and brisket are all smoked with tender, loving care. I never pass up a free sample. Always a go to spot when I’m craving BBQ.

Brisket: Cooked perfectly with a nice smokey flavor. Pulled apart with no effort, this is the best brisket that I have eaten in the Houston area.
Country Ribs: Again, cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that some of the slices were cut along the grain which made them a little chewier than the other slices.
Boudin: Really, really, really good. This Boudin tastes homemade, it’s not exactly what I taste in other Boudin’s across town.
Potato Salad was also good, not sure if it was store-​bought or homemade. I wasn’t there for the sides though.
The only reason this place gets 4 stars is because of the fact that the sauce isn’t homemade (even though the meats are good enough without sauce). And unless you eat right in your car, you won’t be able to eat this right after it is sliced, that’s when BBQ is its best.
Overall, I would recommend this for anyone wanting real BBQ in the Houston area. This guy definitely knows what he’s doing.

I tried this bbq some 4 years ago.
At the time it was not on Unilocal.So, I added it.

If you ask me, this place is the best bbq in the entire state of Texas… blowing all of those other fancy pants and non fancy bbqs around outta the water.
Last time I took a bunch home and froze in air tight bags… two weeks later microwaved them and the entire kitchen smelled like pecan smoke before the box even beeped!

I passed by this place all the time and finally made the stop, so glad I did. I got to know Mike, and as someone who likes to smoke his own meat myself, I told him I don’t like the fact that many bbq places. the food tastes like it has no «soul»…he then told me why he loves what he does and I could see a distinct passion and excitement in his mannerisms, and I’ll be damned, this was the absolute best smoked meat I’ve ever had, and the portions are VERY ample. I got a two meat combo. any other place this would have been a meal, here it was two, and I am not a small boy. He definitely has a customer for life.

Best potato salad hands down, beat anything my mom or grandma made.
Sausage was a bit over smoked for my liking but it was good. The ribs and brisket was awesome!

Ok, this spot is less than three miles from my house but it’s taken me over a year to finally try it out. I really should have gotten to it sooner. I got a varied amount of meats by the pound, chicken, brisket, sausage and ribs. There’s definitely smoke flavor there — I wish I’d gotten more bark with the brisket. The ribs are boneless country style, I prefer the traditional, but these were ok. My daughter was all in on the sausage — it’s homemade and lean, very tasty. I like the fact that it’s close and the prices are WAY more reasonable than Killen’s. I can’t rate it better than Brisket House, but because it’s almost in my backyard, it gets put on my repeat list for sure.

After hearing about this place for months & checking out the reviews on Unilocal,I stopped by today on the way home: the food is phenomenal! I had the chopped brisket sandwich & the homemade peach cobbler, and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t purchase more for later on this week. However, this gives me an excuse to go back and visit! If you’re on Hwy 6, I would highly recommend that you stop by and give this place a try!!!

OK. Now if you really want to try the best bbq, you should definitely come to this place…
I always wanted to try real SMOKED BBQ. And this place has it, it doesn’t look fancy or anything, just a old little shack that doesn’t even take credit card, owner is always happy and with a smile that dude is really cool.
be sure to bring cash.
Overall: HANDS DOWN THE BEST BBQ I HAVE TRIED SO FAR…

It was over rated, the «30 hour» smoked chopped beef was not tender at all and for the price I can think of a lot of better places… please dont have your hope up going here

EXCELLENT BBQ! After trying Brook Street BBQ (do they even smoke their own meat, or does it come like that from Sysco?), I am so happy there is a legit BBQ place near us. The owner /​pitmaster is a great guy.
I tried the sausage sandwich and my wife tried the brisket. Both were great. I’m going to try the brisket next time, but without the sauce. It can stand on it’s own. 30 hours of smoking yields a very tender meat.
Oh, for the full experience, pull up a folding chair to the tree trunk table :)

I am a very picky Unilocaler and I have to say this place does Texas BBQ proud. Smoky, tender ribs with sauce that is just the right amount of sweet and spicy. The potato salad is my favorite by far. Not the usual overly mayo’d or drenched in mustard but delicious, creamy and fresh tasting from the dill. I have tied to duplicate it on multiple occasions… no dice… will continue trying ;-). Don’t pass by this place without stopping. Its definitely worth it!!!

Still have that smokey taste lingering in my mouth 30 minutes later. Best BBQ beef sandwich I ever had without a doubt. Large and overstuffed with 30hr smoked beef brisket — the most tender and lean meat you can imagine. Chopped onions and just the right amount of dark, sweet and tangy sauce top it off. I’ve been looking for BBQ like this for a long time, had just about given up and there it is just around the corner. Thanks Unilocalers for spotlighting TLC BBQ. I will be back.

This is one gooood b.b.q Togo spot! Just make sure to call in before picking up your order. Believe me when I say this, owner of this place is not shy with portion at all!!!
