Sonic Drive-In

Dang. You guys must have been off your game the other night.
I’ll be honest. I’ve never ordered large fries and received half a box of cold medium fries. That was extremely awkward.
So I ordered a large combo, but somehow they made my fries «medium» and drink large??? Makes sense. My understanding was they wanted to un-​do the first charge and recharge me for what I ordered.
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not have my money in limbo for a couple days (sometimes happens at other places that do this sort of thing) for like 20 cents or whatever the up-​charge is, even though I ordered it as a «LARGE COMBO».
Anyway, after a long bit of awkwardness they finally just gave me another medium fry, this time not half full and cold… so I guess that made up for it. The whole thing was just really frustrating.
Did I mention they took like 20 minutes? I mean, sure there was like 4 orders in front of me in the drive thru, but I could have got like 3 meals at that crappy Mcdonalds down the road. Or ordered a full meal at Moe’s and started into it.
It’s annoying, I really do love the food here, when it’s not cold and half full.

Their BLT’s are about the only thing I’ll eat from Sonic. Everything else I ever ordered was VERY greasy. Honestly, I squeezed 6 napkins of grease from the last hamburger I bought there. That’s terrible for you. I don’t drink shakes or slushies, so no review on those. The tater tots taste like something from a toaster oven, not very good at all…

The drive thru is a little weird. You order and then pull to the curb, not much of an advantage over pulling into a stall.

I got the flat melt no cheese all perfect, maybe the best most fresh one I have eaten at any sonic location!

We ordered from the drive there here last weekend. I don’t know what everyone raves about with sonic except for maybe their milkshakes but frankly I think I’ve had better food at Hardees and I can’t stand Hardees.
I had the double cheeseburger and tots. One of my friends ordered the onion rings. The Tots are supposed to be crisp and a little on the crunchy side. These were wet and bland. Had to add salt for flavor. The burger was only half decent when I hit the cheese, otherwise no flavor. And I tasted the onion rings and they were fried to a full crisp and not in a good way.
This was my first experience with Sonic and most likely my last. This is the reason I stay away from Fast Food. It’s not good food.

Great bang for your buck! One dollar Jr. Breakfast burrito all day!
Just make sure you get a drink because everything is pretty salty. Bring your own hot sauce too because what they have is WEAK!

Sonic is one of those places that you can get a decent «sandwich» from along with a drink. That’s what I use them for.
I enjoy that their menu is available ALL DAY, unlike some of those silly restaurants who forget how to make a breakfast item at 5 pm.

I needed a quick bite and drink before heading an hour south. Grabbed a Rt 44 sweet tea and a grilled cheese sandwich. Was under $ 3 (yeah, outside the 2 – 4 ½ price drink hours).
Great service and the food/​drink hit the spot.
The drink actually hit the spot ALL DAY long. I think ¹⁄₃ of it is still in the car. If I order a Rt 44 drink it’s because I don’t want to find another drink later in the day, and with the small ice and style cup Sonic uses, the drink stays cold for many hours. Was still cold 6+ hrs later (70+ F day) sitting in the car.

I’m not hatin’ Sonic, decent chili dogs and cheeseburgers, tot’s with cheese are good along with a banana and peanut butter Sunday.
Four stars you ask? Not for the artery blocking meal you will consume but 4 Stars for the awesome parking lot where on the Fourth Of July you can watch 5 different fireworks displays… while blocking your artery’s. Boo-​Yah.
