Love love love this place! Cozy coffee bar with the best snacks. Such a nice place to grab a cup of tea, and afternoon hot chocolate or a cup of coffee in the morning. If I didn’t have so many conference calls, I would work from here everyday! Staff is very friendly and made some great hiking/restaurant reviews since we’re new to the area.

I love this coffee shop. I just moved to the area from Raleigh and I’m so glad I found this adorable café on my way to work. I’ve already been twice this week. The chai latte is fabulous… I’m more of a tea drinker than a coffee drinker. Thanks for friendly service and a delicious morning pick me up! Will be back soon.

OHMYGOSH! This is such a cute coffee shop! It makes me so sad that this place is hidden from all the action because of it’s strange location on Sweeten Creek Road. Regardless, it is worth going out of your way for! Like I said, it located on Sweeten Creek Road, practically across from Rocky’s Fried Chicken Shack(I think that’s what it’s called, but I am a vegetarian so I never pay much attention to that place). My first time here I ordered a simple herbal mint tea. The super sweet and friendly barista then asked me if I would like it if he went out front to their garden, pick some fresh mint, and add it to my tea. Talk about great customer service! The tea was great and this personal touch made it a thousand times better. Since then, I have brought my family and friends to Beehive and I have enjoyed delicious coffee, treats, and friendly conversations. Beehive is such a great coffee bar and I have only amazing things to say about it. Also, the décor is so unique and fit’s the name of the shop perfectly. They have bee-themed paintings and stained glass, flowers, and beautiful antique furniture and decorations. I recommend this coffee bar to everyone and I will continue to be a regular here.

My husband works in Arden, so I drove him to work and found myself with time on my hands. I wanted coffee, wifi and atmosphere. I found all three at Beehive. I ordered a latte and it was wonderful. Even better was the laid back and comfortable environment. I stayed and worked for over two hours. What a lovely spot with excellent coffee. While I didn’t try any baked goods, they looked delicious. I will definitely be back!

First off: the coffee was delicious! I ordered a large vanilla latte, and it was wonderful! If I were to rate on just the coffee, 5 stars. The reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the barista was so unreasonably rude to me!!! Not sure why, but he didn’t greet me as I walked in, didn’t ask if the drink was good, didn’t say anything as I walked out. Now, I wouldn’t mind at all if he was like this to everyone else, but it was JUST me. How rude?! I’ll drink my coffee somewhere more pleasant.

I love their coffee. The staff is always friendly. The bake goods are delicious, my only critique is that they don’t have a big selection of savory items. But I don’t go there for that. I go for delicious coffee– they will make your whatever you want with a smile. Nice quiet atmosphere and a small bit of covered outside seating.

What a hidden gem. If you are in South Asheville looking for a unique coffee shop, this is it. The barista was super friendly and even offered to move tables around for a customer who was looking for a workspace. The dirty chai I ordered was wonderful and Beehive’s vibe is vintage/cozy/small, the perfect spot to post up and read a good book.

a cute little neighborhood place to have a cup of coffee. Stopped in on a Friday afternoon and found the usual coffee shop crowd in there. The college age girl with the headphones, the mid 30’s guy, with the beard and the Macbook Air who probably blogs or studies philosophy, and a few other«coffee shop regulars. But the coffee was good, the décor is really cute, and all in all was a good experience.

I was just in town for the weekend taking a class in Arden and was so excited to stop in at Bee Hive and find that they are such an amazing coffee shop! I have been back three times now AND bought coffee beans to take home. So glad I found this gem, best Americano in WNC, so thoughtfully decorated and they also had fantastic granola– thank you bee hive!

This coffee shop is exactly what Fletcher/Arden has been needing desperately. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful, the coffee was delicious, the baked goodies they carry look wonderful. The shop is also full of locally made this and that’s like tea towels. I might have had to take one of those home. The location is a little peculiar on sweeten creek that has been off and on empty for a while. They added a counter and some tables. It’s a simple place but cozy and perfect for bringing a laptop and spending a few hours working or dragging a friend to sip drinks and chat. I imagine many good things for this little coffee shop. It may be my new favorite. All and all, this place is adorable! It could only get better if they carried bagels with cream cheese and other savories. I can’t wait to go back again and try another beverage.

Super cute place and the staff is really friendly, which makes this place one of my new favorite coffee houses. They serve Dynamite coffee, which is delish. Their Chai latte was also good. They’ve got a few muffins options and cookies for a little sweet snack. There are a few tables outside and inside space to sit and chat or do a little work. Definitely worth stopping by when on the hunt for coffee in South AVL.

We were going to B.B. Barns and needed a cafeine fix. Found it on Unilocal. Adorable place, adorable owner, very groovy environment and a kick ass cold brew iced coffee. There was this amazing looking carrot cake that was right there staring at me. They also had a nice selection of cakes and cookies but we decided to behave. Next time we won’t!

This place is a much-needed gem in south asheville. I love the welcoming and friendly atmosphere that Sophie(the owner) has brought to her shop and it makes you want to lounge there all day. They have a variety of coffee beverages to choose from, though my favorite is the consistent and perfect Americano(I’ve also heard rave reviews for the chai frappé and raspberry mochas from other customers). There are an array of baked goods to choose from, ranging from muffins, to cake, cupcakes, cookies, and baklava. They also have a few fresh gluten free options that I really appreciate(a savory personal size quiche or a sweet oatmeal date bar that is to die for — sometimes a gluten free muffin as well. The style of the café is eclectic and charming. Large Edison light bulbs and one-of-a-kind fixtures hang from the ceiling, parking meters converted to shop lights sit in the window, a large Godzilla-esque lizard poster(named Baby) behind the counter has neon lights shooting from its mouth, and several local artists have their work for sale throughout the shop(pillows, scarves, postcards, vintage button flowers, tea towels, and more). All in all, a great place to sit back and relax with some delicious food and drink, and if you visit more than once, it starts to feel more like drinking coffee at a friends house than just another café :)

Quaint coffee spot nearby. Excellent coffee choices. If you don’t see it, be sure to ask the owner, Sophie or Gretchen and they’ll whip up something you like. I’m a latte or frappucino lover depending on the weather and the raspberry mocha hit the spot. Homemade sweets like scones, cookies, muffins or cakes are also available. Can’t wait for the weather to warm up and our dog, Bella will tag along and sit outside!

Finally made my second trip down there yesterday morning and this time we were greeted by Gretchen. She was every bit as awesome as Sophie. The service is top notch, they both just want to get to know their neighbors and make them feel at home. Coffee has been excellent every time we’ve been down and all the treats we’ve picked up(double chocolate muffin, cinnamon/vanilla swirl muffin, blueberry muffin, carrot cake and quiches) have all been delicuous. Being right down the street is going to make this a dangerously simple stop a few times a week. I’m OK with that though.
