A must! We started with the homemade«Jumbo Fried Cheese.» They are the best cheesesticks I’ve ever had! The manager, Angel insisted that we try their chips and queso and brought us out a half order to try. My girlfriend and I agreed on the spot that the queso was amazing! Then our steaks came out. I wish I hadn’t been so full from the appetizers. We both had sirloin steaks and as I said to Angel, «they were better than the last steaks we had in Dallas.» This place is a must for your stay in Ardmore or if you need an excellent meal while passing through. Make sure you ask for Essie’s section. She was an absolutely wonderful lady who gave outstanding service!!!

We stopped on our way back from Minnesota. Santa Fe Cattle was busy. Our waitress Loretta was very friendly courteous & prompt. The food was just okay the steak was overcooked & little dry & rice dry & hard. The water was great!!!

I ordered a medium rare 9oz sirloin steak. After 30 minutes it was served beyond medium and I suspect it WAS9oz, but it was served cold so I get the shrinkage factor. Size matters. They tried again. 35 minutes later… same result(less shrinkage). My new and improved steak appeared to be medium rare, but one half was well done. I’m confused on how they accomplished a partitioned steak… must be a fancy grill or a shift change. I was hungry so I ate it. I didn’t enjoy it, I just ate it. Dry. No seasoning. No marbling and tough. Chewy tough. Remember when you were young and, you, at some point chewed meat until it was a mush pile? Yep! This place is for memories. My sides were«marinated mushrooms» and a salad. The tiny button mushrooms were indeed marinated in the broth from the jar for months. I did taste a slight hint of spice(pepper) so kudos to the rebel in the kitchen. The salad had, well, iceberg lettuce; the inside and outside leaf variety, shreds of cheese and teeth sharpening flavorless croutons for decoration. They do have salt and pepper shakers. Apparently they try not to offend any taste buds. Service is slow and the food is made with effortless ease. I dare you to order a steak under medium.

May be that my expectation is too high. I think someone forgot the salad, it came 15 seconds before the steak. Caesar Salad was soggy(dressing pre-mixed)and made with mostly iceberg lettuce. Steak was ordered medium, came charred no pink to be found. Sweet potato with butter/cinnamon sugar on the side — your guess — yep smack dabb in the middle. Now I remember why I vowed to never eat at these restaurants again after a similar experience in Lubbock TX. Good luck … Dine at your own risk !!

Took over 45 minutes to get a salad, got my steak which was ordered medium was well done but cold. Had to been waiting to be picked up by servers for a while. Heard a couple of other customers asking to speak to manager because of very slow service. Don’t wait your time or money

Every time I come eat at Santa Fe, it has always been great. My food is always hot, fresh, and delicious! The staff at Santa Fe are kind and they always check up on us. One of my favorite places in town to go eat.

What a joke! $ 8.00 for chips and qeso? Upset customer next to us because he didn’t get the rice that came with his meal then they tried to charge him for it. The manager wouldn’t go speak with the customer either he just kept sending the poor waitress to do his dirty work. Service was sub-par and their food is way overpriced for what you get. This is my third time eating here and have not had a good experience yet.

Went there twice. The first night, I was by myself, elected to sit at the bar. It was sticky. I asked the bartender to please wipe it off. She did, then without greeting, offering a menu, nothing, she very rudely said, «What do you want to drink?» She huffed, turned, and walked off when I said I wasn’t sure, and I decided to leave because the service was already bad, and I’d not yet even sat down. Night 2: Friends wanted to go there. Told me we’d sit at a table, away from unfriendly bar staff. It was going well until the waiter asked if the cook could butterfly my filet, which was thick, and wouldn’t cook down to medium. I said it was ok, but when they brought the steak, it was under seasoned, so tough on one side and over done so that I could barely get a fork in it, and the other side was under cooked. It was bright red inside, rare, in fact, blood all over the plate. The waiter was nice, but the manager, not so much. She did comp the meal, but never took ownership, in fact, after she was told of my first experience there, she asked why I didn’t complain instead of leaving, and basically turned it around on me, and made me out to be the bad guy. My friends were sitting there in disbelief, agreed with me when I told the manager she shouldn’t be sticking up for her bartender, or the cook who destroyed my steak, and somehow making all of it out to be my problem, not hers. End result, she made it worse, not better, I didn’t eat, my meal was comped, which was the only decent thing that happened, and my friends and I will never go back there again. I did leave our waiter a nice tip, though. He did everything right. Too bad he’s not the manager.

From the mediocre reviews, maybe this place is hit or miss. All I know is that it was an «out of the park» hit when we were there! The chips and queso was amazing! Light, crisp, WARM chips and that queso was super! Steak was juicy and flavorful and the service was top-notch! I honestly cannot even say how many times our server came by to check on us, but we never emptied a glass. I, for one, will definitely be back when I pass this way again!

Awesome place to eat! Just passing through and thought we would give it a try. My husband, son and I all had the sirloin and they were fantastic! Plenty of sides to choose from and we weren’t disappointed with our choices either. Our server was awesome, and helpful, and since it was our first time visiting the manager/owner(not really sure who she was) gave us a free appetizer card for our next visit. We will definitely be stopping again if ever in the area.

We are from New Mexico and the first time we ate at Santa Fe Cattle Co. was great! The waitress told the manager it was our first time and as we were eating our wonderful steak the manager herself came up to us and thanked us for dining in her restaurant and gave us a free appetizer for our next visit. Two months later we were back! Super nice waitress again and we both had the chop sirloin with onions peppers and cheese along with salads and green beans. It was the best! Our free appetizer was Chips and queso! Free!!! Thanks Santa Fe Cattle Co.

Wait staff is 3 – 4 stars, food not so much. The best part was the good sweet tea and the waitress kept our glasses full. The sirloin was dry, tough as if was days old and microwaved. The salad was full with good toppings and ranch was delicious. Daughter had the ribs. Not impressed. Won’t be back.

This used to be a good, reliable steakhouse. Recently, they have gone down hill. Way down hill. Last Sunday we went with friends at 6pm. The place was empty with only a few tables occupied. The waitress took our order and brought drinks. So far, so good! This is where the down hill part begins. Tables began filling up with customers. We finally got some rolls. After 30 minutes, no waitress, no food. Other servers are helping the new customers. They begin bringing out their food. My husband went to look for our waitress and asked about our orders. She told him it was not her fault the kitchen was slow but she would look in to it! 10 more minutes go by. Customers who came in 20 minutes behind us are now finishing and leaving. My husband went to look for the manager. He said he would look in to it! 10 more minutes went by and we got up and left. No one ever came to our table to update us on the delay. We were there almost an hour and saw our waitress twice. We went next door to the Rib Crib and got served immediately and had a good meal. No problems. Perhaps management has changed or competition has recruited their good employees. We won’t be back.

Been twice, wont go again. First time the steak was OK but cooked to medium instead of medium rare. Second time the steak was probably the worst cuts of meat I have ever been served. Tough grissely cut that was inedible. The sides were bland and the second trip they even managed to mess up the baked potato as it was cooked fully and the sour cream tasted old. How can you mess up a baked potato of all things. Skip this place if your looking for steak. Two Frogs and believe it or not El Chico both serve up a better steak.

This is my best visit ever to Santa Fe! I had the 5 course meal and it was great! The rolls and peanuts were a good starter. The potato soup was good, but it came out with my salad. The salad was good also. Then the main event came and did not disappoint. I had the steak and it was great! I said I wanted well done, and they made it just right. I had a dessert that I forgot the name of, but it couldn’t be better! The service was good too. This is a good place to eat if you catch them on the right day.

Soo soo bad. Steaks are of the poorest quality. The appetizer combo was ok. Side salad good. Just a bad place. Needs better food quality and a better cook! I would rather eat my shoe than come back!

Nice atmosphere & nuts everywhere, that drives me nuts! Food took a long time, a bit surprising but the Filet was extremely good, however it was pretty red for medium but tender & seasoned perfectly. Tilapa was wayyyyyy over cooked 1st time, so much so I thought it was blackened, they replaced it but still charged us, hmmm. The potato soup turns out to basically be chunks of baked potato in a cup, very disappointed! Server did a good job keeping drinks refilled & she tried hard to please us, so she scores major service points. However she was no different than most when it came to forgetfulness, asked for no green onions on the potato soup & she delivered it with green onions, then brings a replacement with no spoon & have to wait for her to come back around to flag her down to get a spoon to eat the soup lol The desert was only ½ what it was advertised as cuz they were out of ice cream for the Brownie so they tried to make up for it with a ton more whip cream(now there can never be enough WC if you know what I mean), but the brownie was great. Why wouldn’t they go get some at the grocery store? I will try them again but for what we got & what we paid I wasnt that impressed

I think 3 stars is pretty much spot on for this spot. It’s not great. It’s not bad. It’s going to be a decent meal, and you can certainly do much worse elsewhere. I stopped in on a misc Tuesday night looking for a bit of dinner. I went with their«5 course» dinner(one of the courses includes bread & peanuts, which seems a bit cheesy). Soup, salad, steak and dessert. All of the dishes were decent. The steak was very nicely cooked. The major complaint that I had was the fact that the food was not spaced out at all, so within about 7 minutes I was surrounded by 4 plates. But beyond that the staff is friendly and again — decent food. I’d stop by again if I were in town.

Santa Fe Cattle Co. is a small regional chain restaurant with around 20 locations in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma & Tennessee. A real southern style super casual joint that has a giant whiskey barrel of free salty peanuts that greets everyone at the front door. Then as you enter there are buckets of peanuts & peanut shells at every table, all over the floor, the bar, all over the dead gum place! I mean you can toss them up & down & throw ‘em all around no one gives a shitters. LOL Come in yer boots, cutoffs & overalls, not a problem. It’s a country kinda place with laid back fun redneck style! With the stuffed armadillos, giant longhorn cow head & very cleaver redneck outhouse art posted all around, you can wear yer jeans with holes in both knees & a patch on yer arse, heck, yer lookin real purdy in this joint! Especially with one of those super refreshing redneck teas in each hand. Heck yea, double fisted redneck tea is practically mandatory. Its basically a Long Island with ever clear instead of Vodka that’s served in a giant mason jar. After a day on the lake you can cruise on in, throw a few longnecks back or have a couple redneck teas outside under the stars in their cattle pen. When they first opened they had a real cowboy horse saddle barstool at the end of the bar, I must have wore a hole in it drinkin all them redneck teas bc they done took the dead gum thing out & replaced it with a regular bar stool! Why do people have to go mess with perfection? Geeezz :( «Bring back the dead gum saddle folks!» Ya’ll bollocksed that up good :( Santa Fe hand cuts all their USDA aged steaks by their in house butcher & everything on the menu is scratch made. The burgers are ground fresh every day never frozen. The fresh baked yeast rolls are light, chewy & served pipping hot right out the over with their cinnamon butter. The 16oz ribeye steak is very popular. All the steaks are cooked to your liking with your choice of sides like baked potato, salad, mashed potato, sweet potato, cole slaw, etc., The chicken fried steak is big enough for 2. It comes hanging off the plate every time with mashed tators & your choice of white or brown gravy. I love all the super fresh salads & the salmon. The salmon is giant, grilled & seasoned to your liking, I order it blackened with a double side of salad YUM! I think it’s the best thing on the menu next to the amazballs death burger. The death burger is one spicy slap in yer face hotter than a spanked babies butt on two baby soft buttered buns. A awesome hangover cure :)… They make these giant cheese sticks that are bigger than ball park winers! lol You can only eat one of them big’o winer size cheesy sticks. With 4 to an order they are perfect to share when you are out hangin with your buds ;) I have never been to any of the other locations, I have only been to the Ardmore location when I’m hangin at my lake-house on the weekends. It’s one of the best & only places in town to grab some grub & a double fisted redneck tea. The place is FUN with a all day happy hour & the prices are fantastic! My homeboy Josh C, he knows what’s up! Just read his review. Like him we usually sit at the bar for the better service, happy hour specials & southernly charming atmosphere with all the other locals. We usually all know each other. Its a small town & we don’t judge folks by their relatives lol It gets busier in there than a set of jumper cables at a mexican funeral on the weekends. The few times hubby & I have sat at a table & had dinner the service is slower than a john-deer tractor & sometimes they start running out of everything especially those yummy rolls & the salmon. It doesn’t help that most of the waitress’s are a few fries short of a happy meal either but they are sure purdy in them painted on jeans with the sexy holes in all the right places that will really crank your tractor! The place is cool, plays great music, It’s a super fun atmosphere with a awesome drink menu, fantastic prices & the food is scratch made delicious. On the other hand, sometimes the service is as useful as a ball at a square dance & messed up like a kite in a hail storm. But if you want to have some really good American food & drinks at a really fun casual southern place & ya ain’t allergic to peanuts or local nuts come check out the«peanut gallery» especially on your birthday for a little something extra special! Sign up for their promotions at
See y’all there! :))

We were driving from OKC to Dallas, and decided to stop into Santa Fe Cattle Co for dinner. It very well could have been a Texas Roadhouse if I didn’t know better. Cute, but a little cheesy décor, with tons of nostalgic country-western memorabilia. Today’s country music blared through the speakers. We nibbled on peanuts when we were seated… another similarity to Texas Roadhouse. The menu had a lot of options… fried appetizers, burgers, pastas, steaks, etc. The choices were pretty generic. Our server was very sweet and attentive. We started with the queso that was actually white queso cheese with ground beef mixed in… dynamite and the best part of the meal. I had the chicken fried steak and it was HUGE! I immediately cut in half so that I could save some for lunch the next day. It came with creamy mashed potatoes and dinner rolls. The rolls were small and served with cinnamon butter. The breading on the chicken tasted like it had been frozen at some point. Overall, there was nothing bad about the meal or experience… just nothing to get excited about.
