Breaking Grounds In Music

My teenage son has been taking drum lessons with Chris for about 9 months and it has been a wonderful experience. As a parent I appreciate that Chris is easy to communicate with, dependable, and he’s willing to work around busy schedules. As a teacher he’s easy going, enthusiastic, and he’s passionate about teaching kids the drums. We would highly recommend him!

We learned of Breaking Grounds in Music from a friend and extremely pleased with the education and professionalism. Specifically, the owner, Chris, works closely with our son and has for over two years. Chris has a way of understanding and anticipating the way our son learns and grows. And, even more, what encouragement makes him get excited the most.
Under the leadership methods that Chris uses, we’ve seen more growth in ways way beyond the drum instruction he received.
Without reservation, we recommend Chris and his team for anyone looking to learn an instrument.

I found this place via the internet looking for drum lessons for my son who is 8 yrs old. When I spoke to Chris his enthusiasm for teaching and music was obvious. Every time I see him that never changes.
He choose Alex to teach my son and he loves going there and learning from him, Alex is great with him. I can easy see that Alex really enjoys teaching. It not just a job to him. The two seem to have fun working together and feed off each other. To me as a parent that is the most important thing. He inspires him to want to learn and have fun, He is a very good teacher and is open to ideas and willing to try whatever methods he feels works best. That is the sign of a really good teacher.
If you or someone you know wants to learn an instrument, I would highly recommend giving them a try. You will not be disappointed.

2016 UPDATE:
My partner and I are now BOTH taking music instruction through teachers at Breaking Ground, and at convenient different locations. We are very pleased with Chris and Peter.

I’ve only «met» Chris on the phone. Chris went out of his way to make sure that I understood the services and instruction that he did and didn’t have available at this time based on some eclectic interests, Steel drums? Theremin? Vibraphone? Otamatone?
His website is very easy to understand and there is a «first one’s for free» option so WHAT do you have to lose, put a toe in. And Chris calls BACK!
