I had used them in the past and found them slow but reliable. The last time I was there, I had them frame the certificate for my business. I was told 2 weeks and asked to pay in advance. 5 weeks later no certificate. I want by to check since they were located at the Virginia Square Metro stop. To my surprise, they were closed. So there went my certificate and money. If they come back on the market, beware.

I wish I could put zero stars. This place is horrendous. We paid for a job to be done right before Christmas, 2011. He told us to give him a month given that it was the holiday season. Fair. However now it is June, 2012. It has been SIXMONTHS and we still do not have them. We called the store repeatedly. In the course of four months, someone answered twice. The first time he claimed that they had to custom order something for us. Two months later he claimed the pieces were finished(thanks for letting us know) but had been put in storage and he did not have the key, but would retrieve them and call us when he had them back in the store. That was in April. Two hours ago I actually went down to the store — given that it is supposed to be open right now and they cannot seem to figure out what to do with a ringing phone or how to set up a voicemail box, or create an email contact, or anything that most businesses in the 21st century have had for decades already. Guess what? Closed. Please, please, please, do not waste your time and money here. If you need something framed rather than going here you are better off growing a tree, chopping it down, putting the wood in a vice and sawing it into borders for a frame, nailing it together, staining/painting it, and putting the picture in yourself. Or of course you could just find another framing shop. I encourage you all to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau. If they get enough complaints about one business they will actually investigate. We’ve lost money so I am on a rampage to get it and my pieces back.

I took a piece of mat to get it cut(weird poster size). Guy said he could do it for $ 20 cash. Gladly handed it over and went on my way. It’s been damn near a month. I have gone back five times, all during their posted hours of business, and they have not been open ONCE. Twice had signs on the door, one saying gone due to emergency, the other just«Will Return Soon.» Have called on numerous occasions, but the voicemail box is full. One of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had with a business, local or otherwise. Right now I just want my mat and poster back so I can never darken the door of this shop again.

great local shop. willing to above and beyond to provide you with good service. they are knowledgable about the industry. great quality products and service. i will go to them for most of my framing needs. the only reason i don’t give them 5 stars is because it can take some time to get things done. they have done rush service for me before(next day), but on other occasions, like when they couldn’t get a part in stock, they didn’t call me to tell me there was a hang up at the suppliers end, and it took 4 weeks instead of 1. so there’s some inconsistency there. i guess if he would have just called and let me know that was the problem, i would have given 5 stars. but i will still give them my business.

I dropped off some paintings over a month ago(about 5 weeks) to be simply mounted: No frames, no glass, etc. I was told it would take 2 weeks. I called today, 5 weeks later, and was told they are not ready yet, they have one left to do and it’ll be ready tomorrow. No excuse for why. I wonder if I hadn’t called if it would never have been done. I even stopped by about 3 weeks ago to find out if they were ready and was rudely told they weren’t ready yet — no excuse at that point either.

It’s hard to trust frame stores when they cost so much but I would definitely take art back here — they do a fantastic job and spend time working with you to get it right. Service is friendly, and they remember you.
