This is a cute shop! The owner has a great eye and I love the comfortable and stylish blouses and sweaters I saw there. There is also a great selection of jewelry and perfumes/lotions. I found the owner, Sofia, to be warm and helpful without being pushy at all. For what it’s worth, in reference to the previous review, I bought 3 shirts and all of them were made from organic cotton, silk and wool and were made in USA and the prices were par for the course. Batiz also has great jeans(and free tailoring!) and has a small men’s section.

To reference the 1st reviewer, Arlington does NOT need another place like this. I’m all for supporting cutesy, artisan, hand-made, local made, etc. as well as willing to pay extra extra for well-made clothes, but I was sorely disappointed here. Very overpriced on many if not most items. Example: A boxy, solid-colored(black with gray sleeves) untailored shirt in not-feel-good polyester, made in China — $ 96?! What? Honestly I would have passed it by in Marshalls, but at least thought it belonged there. Where’s the artistry, the tailoring, the quality fabric… heck, even the local-made cred? What exactly is so special and fine about this to warrant $ 96? Many other examples. Not that there aren’t some beautiful pieces here, there are plenty, but the prices are… insulting…yes, insulting. There are throw pillows in the $ 90 range too. Apparently they are hand-made in Guatemala. Really? How much of that $ 90 do the Guatemalan crafters get? I left very irritated and feeling like they’re trying to make a fool out of the customer. I always want new businesses to do well, but I was just not«feeling it» in this place. Too bad.

Cute shop! On a stretch of Mass Ave with not much foot traffic so people need to seek it out — I urge you to pay a visit. I stopped in today and came away with a locally produced hand-printed bicycle T, Love and Toast hand cream, and a handmade Guatemalan woven necklace with a beaded heart pendant. Focus on eco-friendly goods, Latin-American artisans, indie producers. Great place to get gifts(they carry eco-friendly cards, too). I really want this place to succeed — Arlington needs a place like this!
