Family came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. I wish I would have read the reviews beforehand. First the pros. The bakery here is the only redeeming quality for this place. The bread is tasty and good. I’ve never had a poor experience with any of their bread products. There is plenty of parking. The bread is the only reason why I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1. Now the cons, and boy are there a lot of them. First, upon getting in nobody greeted us, luckily one of my party had been there before and knew to seat yourselves. The tables are of the absolute worst quality, they’re plastic picnic tables that have distortions across their surface so that they’re not actually flat. The service here is abominable. We got a waitress that had an absolutely crap attitude from the moment we sat down. She seemed irritated when one of our party members hadn’t decided on a menu selection yet. The food took forever to arrive, and when we asked for water, it took no less than 20 minutes for that to arrive, too. We weren’t asked once in the entire time of the meal if we needed anything else. Not even when the food was set down at the table, she just plopped our plates down and took off elsewhere. At the end, they had the gall to add a 15% tip to the bill for our party of 4. The worst part? There was a roach on one of my party member’s plates. Not a dead roach that might have been on the plate from storage(which would’ve been nearly as bad). This critter was cooked, probably fried right along with the rest of the food. When we complained, another waitress(because ours never came back after setting our food down), took the plate away without so much as a word. When our waitress came back, there was no apology, just«well, would you like something else?» No thanks. Avoid this place for a sit-down meal. Do yourself a favor and if you come here at all just make sure it’s to-go and for the bread products.

Wow… these people are slow… the service here was ridiculously slow for a slow Monday night! It took about an hour to get our meal… received moldy bread… Smh…

I went there with my family trying to experience different dishes from Latin America. All I have to say is that I’m extremely disappointed with Cinthia’s Bakery. They should stick to making bread which seems to be the only thing they did right. The service is terrible. They served me a soda on a plastic bottle, then I have to get up from my table and ask for a glass because the server was nowhere to be found. The dishes proportions are enormous but they lack taste. I ordered the Milanesa de Pollo and it came with a bunch of rice but no salsa. Not even beans. I didn’t finish my plate, what a waste of time.

Came here for lunch with a very good friend who was training at the foreign service campus up the road. We were mildly annoyed at the long wait for food but the waiter was very nice and very welcoming because we clearly had never been there before. It has a very authentic and honest flavor and the bakery part of the restaurant smelled delicious the whole time we were there. Our food was great though the portions are enormous and you should plan that way. There are also a variety of interesting Central America drinks on the menu including something that seems like liquified peanuts.

I will probably never come to this place again… Service: terrible. Seat yourself, but no one tells you that. You just kinda wait around until you just decide to sit yourself down. Then the lady comes over to us and gives the two of us ONE menu because they didn’t have enough or something. Then she walked away and took forever to come back and take our order. Food: The bread they gave us was cold and hard. The green sauce was strong but not flavorful. It was all spicy and no saltiness. The empanada attacks you with liquid when you try to cut it in half, and there was maybe a piece of chicken in it. The rest was just meat juice and a super thick crust. Maybe it’s just a local place for Bolivians and Salvadoreans to hang out and that’s the way they work… but nothing about the place enticed me to come back.

I have come here on several occasions at this point. 3 things to be known – 1. Service sucks and they personally don’t give a shit on how long you are waiting. They will get to you when they are done talking with their friends or when they’re done playing on their cell phone. 2. This is a Bolivian restaurant. Bolivian = hot gods in almost every dish. I do not know why they do this, but they just do. Accept it or learn Spanish and ask them to remove it. Oh yeah… most them do not know English here. The menu is in both English and Spanish. My suggestion if you can’t pronounce your dish is to point to it on the menu. 3.They have REALLY good food. I think it is really good. I think you will like it too. Trust me. OK? Portions are huge and can easily be split between two people or two meals. The have a full bar, non-alcoholic beverages, a bakery, and tons of entrees. Come see for yourself and enjoy! Just make sure you have nothing to do for a couple of hours because that is how long it will take you to get in and out because they’re slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

This place serves the BEST dulce de leche cake. EVER. As it is with Chinese food, you know you’re at the right place when you’re the only non-[native culture of cuisine] there. Like many hole-in-the-wall ethnic places, it’s in a not-so-great neighborhood. If you want service and ambiance, go to Morton’s or some of those other fancy schmancy places. People come here for the food. Period.

I am big fan of Cinthia’s, just not this particular location. The service is terrible and the food is not as good as the first Cinthia’s that’s just up the street in Falls Church. As soon as we walked in, we had to sit ourselves at a table which was filthy. Finally a waiter came over, didn’t even acknowledged we were there. He half cleaned the table but just removing the plates(not the caps, the half eaten bread, or the spills on the table) and left. He did not come back. Finally, someone else came by and was a bit nicer, cleaned the table to the best of his abilities as he couldn’t get around the other side of the table because this particular table was in a corner. So I had to borrow the wet cloth from the waiter and clean the area he couldn’t clean so my daughter could have a clean area to eat. Finally the bring the food out. My husbands dish looked good, however, my «chicharron» looked sketchy. It had yuca(chicharron doesn’t have yuca) and it looked like this yuka was taken from a different dish as it had remnants of parsley(chicharron doesn’t have parsley). The same thing with the piece of pig skin which is supposed to be the best part of the chicharron. It looked like it was taken out of a fricase dish. I still gave it a try and I confirmed my suspicion at it was a completely different taste. I will never go back to this particular location. The other Cinthia’s is 100 times better. Service is great and the food is much better, yes, it is much smaller, but it’s worth waiting to get seated. I recommend the other location.

I have only tried the cun~apes and cheese empanadas(carry out) at Cinthia’s and they were delish! I’m half Bolivian and have lived in Falls Church/Arlington my whole life so I’ve tried plenty of other places and these items were really great in comparison. I did carryout, the cashier was quick with me, parking was not an issue and the place is really easy to find. I will be returning. For those that do not know, cun~apes and cheese empanadas are pretty much like cheesy bread. They taste differently but both are GREAT with coffee! I usually dip mine in my coffee before eating it. Try it!

Service here is probably the biggest thing that is holding this place back. Very slow and inefficient, which can make the dining in experience overly long and tiring. A venture here for a late lunch became an arduous journey of over 2 hours. Portions here are quite large. While the group of us only partook in the sandwiches section, those sandwiches are larger than our faces! The bread rolls that the sandwiches were served on are the same kind, just larger than the complimentary bread rolls served. They were pretty tasty. However, our group didn’t get any of the green chili sauce that was seen on all the other tables. Another issue we had was although most of us ordered the same thing, we were all charged various prices. So just be aware when paying your bill. There can be some language barriers, but if you’re patient and understanding, it’s easy to work through.

I was there yesterday with some family and ordered soup at about 3pm the waiter told us it would be a few minutes. we waited 30 minutes before he came back to our table. service is TERRIBLE! these waiters are NOT properly trained and they won’t even came back to the tables and check on you to see if you need or want anything else! The owner NEEDS to inform his stuff how important good customer service is! These waiters apparently don’t know! If you go there be ready to wait a long while before food comes out. Food was ok, could have been better. Don’t leave a tip if service is bad!

This place has the worse service and cant make up for that fact that the service was so horrible. I don’t recommend this place to anybody. The worse part is that they treat customers like they should be grateful to be there.

Bolivian food is new to me so I don’t have a point of reference to make good comparison. The empanada type pockets were flavorful and the sandwiches were massive. The only off putting thing was the sugar added to almost every dish. It would have been better if it were more savory and less sweet.

My husband and i went on a Sunday evening and the service was not the greatest. You definitely need to be able to either use some broken Spanish or be patient with the servers. You’lle get a large portion for the price but the food is not the best. The rice was alright and the salad okay. We ordered what seemed to be steak and chicken coated with egg and breaded over a ton of rice. The bread and green hot sauce that came with it the order was the best thing about the entire experience.
