Must Be an Einstein Tradition to oober my slow… because this is exactly how this place started originally. I’ve made multiple trips. And each time has been mediocre. Now they do have more staff members which does make things faster then before. However quality is exactly the same. I mean seriously Einstein is known for their shmear… and what i get is not even a smear its like a sliver of cream cheese. If your going to charge me for a specialty cream cheese and your going to cheat me out of it… then don’t bother to charge me for it. Especially since a toasted bagel without any shmear is 1.25 and its like dollar and some change for a specialty cream cheese and the fact that i have to ask for extra cream cheese for a few cents more when it should already be the amount you put on it is just ridiculous. Oh and if your lucky they may have all the bagels in stock if not… well i guess slim pickings for you. Perhaps new management has helped this Einstein bagel run more efficiently but the quality needs improvement. Then again its inside a hotel. so maybe thats why quality is so lacking.

If you expecting an authentic New York style bagel go elsewhere. Usually a long line and overpriced products.

This is for the one in the Crystal City Marriott. I actually really love the food here, and the employees are very nice, but they need training on consistency! I always order the asparagus mushroom and swiss sandwich and I never know if I’m going to get what I’m supposed to. One time they forgot to put the cheese on. They will often forget the red pepper sauce that’s supposed to go on it — one time I said something when I checked and they said they didn’t have any of the sauce left… Wouldn’t you say something to me before making it? I can also see them verbally relaying orders to the food makers. That seems like a recipe for disaster with complicated orders.

Terrible. Seems like there is no customer service training at this chain. Orders always take a long time, often staff don’t know the menu items(i was given some kind of turkey wrap instead of a Club Mex bagel). The food is sub par too.(inch thick red onion rings or ends of romaine in your sandwich anyone?!)

I always get the same thing at Einstein bagel — a toasted blueberry bagel with strawberry smear. No big deal but usually tasty. So let’s say a regular Einsteins is a 3 or something. It’s fast casual franchise so we can’t expect excellence. But the airport store isn’t as good as your regular Einsteins. My bagel was barely toasted through and there wasn’t much smear. Also, it was just lopped on the bagel with one huge scoop on one end of the bagel leaving the other end smearless(made up word). Then, you have to add 2 or 3 bucks for your standard airport ripoff. The gist of my review is the Einstein bagel in DCA is not as good as your standard EB. But this is the case for so many airport restaurants.

Amazing Egg Sandwich options that included fresh asparagus, mushrooms, and spinach. However I only ordered Iced Coffee, Iced Tea, and a Cinnamon Raisin Bagel with Cream Cheese from here. I enjoyed the bagel. The iced tea I wasn’t a fan of, they also had no lemon. The iced coffee tasted like hazelnut, which I was completely fine with but wondered if they made hazelnut on accident which could be a bad mistake for someone allergic to nuts. My sister got an egg sandwich and the egg looked really fluffy. Also the line moved slow. No seating except for the lobby.

Salmon lox is definitely the way to go here. Huge portion of fish! Service nice, coffee selections very good, but this location does not serve garlic or onion bagels. A bit puzzled, so I subtracted a star.

Einstein Bagel is located in the Crystal Gateway Marriott hotel in Crystal City, VA. I stopped by and got a salmon lox bagel during a career fair at the hotel. Though the line was rather long(annoying, but understandable given the huge career fair taking place in the hotel at the time), I think the wait was well worth it for my bagel. My bagel was perfectly filling and they were generous with the salmon. I would most likely visit again, if I found myself at the Crystal City Marriott in the future.
