I did not like this place at all. I asked for the lamb rare and it was so well done like rubber. My son who is more experience in this type of food than me said he would not ever come back.

This is the best kabob I’ve encountered this side of Afghanistan! I recommend it to all my friends and family as the place to go for the best chicken kabob and fresh baked nan. Add in some spinach, salad, potatoes and rice and you’ve got a MEAL. Don’t forget the baklava and rice pudding! Warm friendly service in an open, airy atmosphere… What’s not to like??? And with Rasouli, your warm and wonderful host. My 10 yr old daughter loves it so so much she never wants to leave. Her favorite is the chicken kabob with rice. On the menu it says fresh tender and delicious and indeed it is.

The food made my stomach hurt for hours. The falafel was way over cooked and the sauces just ok. The free lentil soup was without much flavor. I say choose another place to eat

This place was cool. It had a nice new interior and was really spacious. The staff was super friendly and seemed really helpful. They have a bunch of food options and variety of sides. I forgot to get a soda and the guy just told me I could have one, super awesome. I ordered the falafel platter and my boyfriend got the chicken one. The chicken was delicious but I would probably not order the falafel again. It lacked flavor. Next time if you get takeout, get extra tssaksiki sauce. I definitely didn’t get enough.

This place is great for lunch or dinner! The food is always made quick so it doesn’t take 30 minutes to eat, the portions are always generous and the price is well worth what you are eating. I have tried the chicken which has never been dry and is generally large in size, the lamb which is always seasoned very well and cooked perfectly and the gyro(both platter and wrap) both taste great and both are enough to fill you up. Overall I would recommend everyone try this place atleast once

Grill Kabob is fantastic! The lamb kabob is delicious! There are a lot of kabob places around 23rd street but this is a standout.

A real competition to Kabob Palace, which is across the street from it. I find the kabobs here are much better than from kabob palace, i like their naan bread which is also different. Overall a very good place. The only downside is that their sides are very less and you end up eating plain dry rice and kabobs halfway through your meal.

The food was as close to authentic afghan cuisine you can find in Virginia. The kabobs are perfectly cooked and the kubida just melts in you mouth. I look forward to going here every time I’m in the crystal city area. The owners that manage the place are pleasant and always in a great mood.

This place is amazing, an absolute hidden gem. The food is fresh, authentic and delicious, and the portions are huge. Service was fast and there’s free Afghan tea. Bonus: the owner(who mans the register) is the nicest guy! He noticed one of our friends finished her bread, and brought her extra for free. Highly recommend the gyro platter.

The Worst! I just tried this place for the first time and I was so disappointed. I ordered a Gyro sandwich which was high at $ 10.99. Sandwich only. I had to wait 20 minutes for my order. When it finally came there was a very skimpy amount of meat and the meat was very dried out and tough, it was actually crunchy when i chewed it. Never again. :(

I don’t often write reviews, but I loved this place!!! Chicken kabob platter was delicious and the owner who took our order was just great. We had a short, but wonderful conversation. If you’re in crystal city, check it out!

I was here last Friday and I was so satisfied. The greeting was good, food was great and fresh. Free chicken soup, the meal contains two different kinds of rice, brown and white, your choice of meat, chicken lamb, beef Undoubtedly, kabob palace is closeBy, but I prefer this one. It’s worth a try at least. I’ll leave with the pics so u can decide.

This place is soooooo tasty, it exceeded my expectations! We got the Chicken Kabob, Lamb Kabob and a Baklava. The meat and rice were moist and delicious, it came with a huge piece of naan bread, soup, salad and a garbanzo bean side dish along with two sauces. It only took 5 – 10 minutes for our food to come out too. Well worth the $ 12 and a quick stop!

I didn’t like the gyro sandwich at all. For $ 10.99(just the sandwich — no potato chips, fries, or side dish) I would have expected a lot better. I thought it was skimpy on the meat, loaded with just chunks of lettuce, and drenched in what seemed like ranch salad dressing!!! I think I’ll stick to Kabob Palace. For gyros, I’m partial to Plaka Grill in Vienna and The Big Greek Café in Silver Spring.

If you want kabobs, walk the two blocks to Kabob palace. We had an order of the ground beef kabob and chicken kabobs, with sides of chana and two sauces. Typically, one gets a cilantro sauce and a yogurt sauce(raita). The cilantro sauce, instead of being spicy and tangy was lemony and sweet — not bad, just not what was expected. The white sauce… well…that was ranch dressing. Not sure who these folks are trying to fool, but that was a complete dissapointment. On to the meat. The chicken and beef were both cooked well — but a little on the dry side. Also a little on the bland side… a lot on the bland side. A good dose of sriracha didn’t even help. The chana were average — but not really expecting much there. The naan was chewy and dense, whereas most naan can be light and airy with spots of density to add texture. Walk the two blocks to kabob palace. A little more expensive, but worth it. Every.time.

The gyro sandwich is awesome and with the tzatziki sauce is to die for. I would definitely highly recommend. The place is clean and the staff is courteous.
