Ah, Jo-Ann. Always open on Sundays for my late-weekend crafting needs. For some reason I find Jo-Anns to be more difficult to navigate than Hobby Lobby(although it’s smaller), and they seem to be a little pricier with less variety. But they’ve still got all your basics covered and plenty of fun seasonal décor. Maybe I’m just used to the Hob, but last time I went to this Jo-Ann’s I found myself wandering for quite awhile with no staff to be found. I’m thinking they need a few more team members on site. Not only was no one available to help me find the damn elastic I needed(okay duh, it was with all the other fabric/sewing materials — but still, it was hiding), but there were seriously soooo many people waiting at the fabric cutting station. I had to take a number and the line did not move quickly at all, even though there were 3 women cutting materials/ribbon etc. They kept joking around with one another and moved super slowly, making for many impatient customers awkwardly crowded around the counter. I found myself especially irritated when they called the number before me SEVERAL times and no one showed up, so they finally invited me to come forward. Right as I was saying, «I need 2 yards of this material,» the woman who missed her number barged in, complaining about being skipped. I don’t complain or make scenes unless it’s worth my time, but the Jo-Ann’s employee should have said something like, «please wait a moment, I’m in the middle of helping the customer who was actually here when I called her number.» Or they need to call out their numbers over the intercom. Whatever. I’m still annoyed. When I finally had my damn fabric cut and priced, I waited in another line at check-out where there were only 2 employees. This is on a Saturday afternoon in the Highlands… so crowded!

The staffs are cranky about 70% of the time that i’ve been here(almost half a week every week). And their attitude whenever you produced a coupon is unbelievable. Tip for management team of Jo Ann: don’t pass out coupons if you don’t want your clients to use them. And it’s not like i’m getting free stuffs from those coupons, like certain people i know. I still had to pay half or more on the things I buy. And being as a regular customer, i’m not happy. If i could find another one that’s close, i’d never come here. Kill my mornings!

No one wants to help you find anything here! Came in asking for a specific needle to a sewing machine they pointed me to the section… Couldn’t find the one I was looking for so I asked the lady at the fabric counter and she just said that’s all we got. She wouldn’t look at the needle or attempt to quit sweeping her area to help me… Will take my business elsewhere. YOUMISSED A SALEBECAUSEOFYOURUNHELPFULASSOCIATES!!!

After driving to a location that had nothing(bad address in Unilocal) — I happened to drive by the actual Jo Ann Fabrics store. I was psyched because I needed that no-iron sewing stuff — do you know it? It’s that thin fabric-y thing that you put between two layers of clothes and iron so that the clothes stick together? I had some hems come off some dress pants and I really like those pants but I can’t sew them back on cause it’s complicated — but I did find this no-iron stuff here at the store and I was psyched. Also they sell all kinds of craft stuff here — good projects for either you or your kids. There’s a framing section in the back. They sell fake plants here, some other decent home décor stuff. Found some good bargains in the discount section too. Glad to find this place!
