I was here with my mother and she really liked the place. Good prices and a very nice selection of home items. Their toys section is also surprisingly stocked. A great place to make post-holiday shopping.

Great little place to snag a nice gift. It’s a go-to for Christmas stocking stuffers or a present that you want to be unique. They also carry Barr & Co products, including the Grapefruit and Fir hand soap… that smells insane! Like the best camping trip ever.

I usually stop into this adorable shop when I go to the Container Store. They have wonderful gifts and ornaments at Christmas time as well as year round. I never leave empty handed, and I often find something I didn’t know I needed! These types of boutiques are hard to find anymore. They carry Michael Aram.

What a fantastic find for those gifts you didn’t know you needed. I popped in because I parked on the street and found so many fantastic stocking stuffers awesome cards and gorgeous gifts. The owner was there to help me find the right items for everyone on my list.

Interesting little shop in Clarendon. It’s a bit whimsical for my taste, but I did find a few things that I liked, and it’s a great shop to pick up gifts, especially for children. Or your bubbe. But, as my mother always taught me, you stop in every store you can, because you never know what you might find. So I’ll be popping in here on occassion.

Best place in dc/nova to buy ornaments. Have been several times to buy ornaments and cards this past Christmas. The store owner, a gentleman and the other staff members are all so helpful and friendly. The staff is helpful and never pushy. They let you browse in peace and offer help when asked. The shop is a block from cheesecake, a little small thing which was a great discovery for me! They were out of an ornament I wanted and the owner even took my number and called me a few days later when he had the ornament in stock. Very impressed he did that for my small sale! The store is filled with gorgeous ornaments ranging from 5 to 15 dollars. very original ones. Adorable stationary and unique cards available, including quote cards and magnets which I adore. The place is perfect for finding that little something special that no one else is going to have. Also, they have tea at the store for customers to enjoy while they browse. In love. Will do all my future ornament and card shopping with this guy due to the adorable products they carry and the amazing customer service alone.

This lovely, elegant store took an unusually long and circuitous journey before arriving at its current location in Clarendon. For many years, some of us knew it from Montgomery Mall, where it flanked Nordstrom and operated under the name, «English Trading Company.» You would go there for European leather goods(i.e., office items like desk sets and calendars), fine china(bisque, porcelain), elegant pens, cards and wraps, custom stationary, glass ornaments, and important things like sealing wax. Then we raided its«store closing» sale before it went to the strange Rockville moonscape known as «Mid-Pike Plaza.» [There were other locations, too, I believe. Virginia comes to mind.] Now it is a veritable phoenix rising up in the Clarendon retail and restaurant corridor, but now operating under the Anglophile-y name«Knightsbridge Trading Company.» [Knightsbridge is one of several high-end retail neighborhoods in London, most notable for being the Tube station closest to Harrod’s.] We have all become accustomed to the thick, high curtain of retail crappiness that’s descended over America.(It seems that«Fine gifts» anymore has come to mean a big pile of gourmet items in a corner of at TJ Maxx.) But Knightsbridge Trading Company is a refuge and sanctum for anyone who covets Caspari wrapping paper, elegant gifts, European glass ornaments, teas, calendars, unique and special greeting cards, and yes, even sealing wax. So next time you are dazed by the offerings of Apple, overwhelmed by the prices in Pottery Barn, maddened by the crowds inside Whole Foods Market, and confused by the miles of bins in the Container Store, cross the street and go down a few doors to Knightsbridge Trading Company. They might just be flying the Union Jack there.
