The food here is okay, but if you’re willing to walk/drive further there are better places. I like them for convenience, it’s close to the office. This restaurant was closed for a few months for renovation and finally reopened. I never had issues ordering before today. *BUYERBEWARE* If you want to anything extra to your dish, it will cost you. They charged me $ 3 to add bamboo shoots to curry and DIDNOT mention this over the phone. Look, I understand if I want extra meat or vegetables, but bamboo shoots that came out of a $ 0.50 can cost me $ 3.00??? Very unpleasant surprise when I picked up my order and they gave me the check. I asked why they didn’t mention the additional cost on the phone and was just told«Oh sorry we will tell them to mention that next time» This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t plan on coming back unless it’s company paid lunch. FYI — Do yourself a favor and go to Urban Thai on 23rd Street. There’s MUCH better food and service there.

So, this place had been closed for renovations since I had moved into the area in October, so when my mom was visiting last week, we were trying to figure out a place for dinner, settling on one place before being wonderfully surprised as we walked by that Neramitra was finally open. So we changed our plans and stopped in there instead. Boy are we glad we did. The service was FANTASTIC. Our drinks were never empty, the waitress brought an assortment of spices for our meals(especially since my mother requested her meal super spicy), and they made sure we had everything we could possibly need from beginning to end. As for the food, it was absolutely great. We both got the Tom Ka Ga, and my mother said it was the best she’d ever had, which is saying a lot because she LOVES Tom Ka. Both of our entrees were delicious. I’d had a similar meal several times at another Thai restaurant and it was just as good, if not better and my mother raved about how perfectly her tofu was cooked. We ended up having really bad serving at a restaurant the next night and we both wished we had gone back to Neramitra’s instead! It was truly a great experience and we will definitely be back for more!

When our group of 7 arrived, someone was quick to greet us and check for space. Then, two other employees stopped by while we waited for our table to also greet and ask how many in our party. Saturday night, no reservation, and we were sat within a couple mins. Service was attentive and food was served relatively quickly. The spring rolls were a hit. For the entrée, I had the Pad Kapow Basil w/tofu instead of meat options. Daughter(first time at a Thai restaurant) had Pad See Euw. Both were delicious. Definitely recommend!

Hands down the best Thai food within 20miles, we always get delivery since we are two miles away. They are fast and efficient but the real treat is the food, bar none the best!!!

Very tasty thai food. I had the panang, which is a peanut/curry sauce. I ordered it with chicken. It was well balanced between the curry and peanut flavor. I ate every bit of it. The calamari appetizer was good as well. It is a cut above the standard pre-packaged type you normally get. The prices were reasonable. $ 85 for a table of 5, 1 of them being 8 yrs old.

Decent service. Food wasn’t to bad, also came out pretty fast. Reasonable prices and large menu. Nothing stuck out to really write about.

At best this is a two star experience. Service is weak in my opinion. Even though business was slow it took 5 minutes to get the staffs attention and get seated. It took the server 2 trips to remember our order. Food was delivered promptly but it did not appear appetizing. Over all food was bland, the pad Thai beef was tough. Overall restaurant appearance was fair, could use a refresh/cleaning.

Let’s face it, going anywhere for lunch at noon in crystal city is going to be a challenge. The line at Chic-fil-A was like 400 deep(like Disneyland lines) and I didn’t have a xanax in my purse so I came here instead. I’ve been here once Before and I loved it and I’ve always looked forward to Coming back. The lunch crowd was in full force so I ordered take out and waited at the bar, plus I walked and it was raining and I looked like beetlejuice, so no table service. My choice, not theirs. I ordered the Pad See Ew and it came in a very basic, non fancy styrofoam container and thin plastic bag with yellow smiley face on it. Dislike. How was the food? I don’t know. Didn’t try it. I’m so good at Unilocal

We were looking for something to munch on before heading back to see the family. This place at high noon didn’t have a line like the others and the staff was very nice. I went with the coconut soup and the larb — and it was very very tasty! Our water glasses stayed filled and we were in and out very quickly! Not a cheap meal, but it’s crystal city and DC.

No the best or the worst Thai food I’ve every had. Would I go back, yes. What made it a win this time was indoor seating and AC, cuz it was crazy hot and muggy! Pad Thai hot was just hot enough to have kick and be enjoyable.

I visited Neramitra with some friends based one of their recommendation because he had been there before. I have no complaints about the service or the food which were both fine, and far from«bad». The prices are good, and the ample-sized portions came out quickly, which is always a plus in my book. I also liked that there were some items on the menu that I don’t typically see on Thai menus such as what I ordered, the Pad Curry. As the name suggests, the dish was with wider noodles(like those used in Drunken Noodle dishes), and similar to Pad Thai minus the peanuts, eggs, and peanut sauce — it even had a little spicy which gave it a pleasant kick. After sharing a little bit of what the three of us had ordered, the unanimous vote was that my dish was the best. With so much competition in the area, I can’t honestly say that I would make a special trip to go back; however, if I do, I will stick with the Pad curry.

Gist: Thai food here not worth it Nothing special Not much to say since the the food was underwhelming. I LOVE Thai food and was not impressed by this location. If you are looking for tasteful Thai food, I suggest checking out Mai Thai instead.

FYI this is a review for their takeout, have not had a chance to dine in yet. I ordered Tom yum soup and chicken pad Thai, and my boyfriend ordered the pad see ew. I am quite picky with Thai food, as I am half thai, so the three stars means it’s decent for me. The soup was okay… Broth was good but a little watery and it felt like they just dumped leftover veggies in there. The pad Thai was pretty good! It tastes fresh and had that hint of sweet and spice that is essential. Added plus was that they put a lot of chicken in there. Pad see ew was a little heavy on the salty side but otherwise not bad. Would order from here again.

Last weekend I ordered delivery from here, since they have online ordering via Unilocal, since I’ve been sick with laryngitis and lost my voice. It’s hard to find good Thai in this area that delivers, not to mention online ordering, so I was thrilled. Unfortunately, though I’ve ordered from here before, the Pad Thai this time was terrible. Definitely below par. I also ordered Pineapple Fried Rice, which was decent, but also below par. Still haven’t found a good«go-to» Thai place in this area, which is a real bummer.

This is a pretty good spot. Walked in and saw seated immediately. The server took a little while to bring the drinks to the table but the food came out rather quickly. I ordered the duck rolls as an appetizer and the curry duck as my entrée. Both were very delicious! I gave only 3 stars because the server visited the table too infrequently for my taste which meant my glass remained empty for longer than I prefer. Otherwise I would hate given 3.5 stars.

Met a friend for dinner here early on a Friday. Restaurant was mostly empty when I arrived at 6:15 but was filling up by the time we left. The happy hour runs until 6:30 so I was able to get a glass of wine in before the cut off. In addition to drink specials, they also have a selection of happy hour appetizers priced at $ 5 and $ 3. We ordered the kanom jeeb(steamed dumpling stuffed with pork, shrimp, and water chestnuts and sprinkled with roasted garlic) and spring rolls(filled with chicken and steamed vegetables). The menu says the spring rolls are served with«house special sauce» which tasted like a standard sweet and sour sauce. The kanam jeeb were steamed nicely without being soggy. A few of the pieces has a bit too much roasted garlic, but that was easily brushed off. For our main dishes I ordered the Keow Wahn vegetarian(green curry with vegetables and fried tofu) and my dining companion ordered the Neramitra Seafood(stir fried scallops, shrimp, squid, and mussels in a red curry sauce). I asked that my dish be a little spicier than normal and next time I would ask that it be a lot spicier because it didn’t have enough heat for me. Regardless, the green curry had a nice balance of flavors and was served with a good variety of vegetables(carrots, cabbage, egg plant, baby corn, peppers, broccoli, and bamboo shoots). The fried tofu was good and not greasy but I really wish more places offered fresh tofu instead of fried. My friend really enjoyed the Neramitra Seafood and said that all of the seafood was cooked perfectly. The only complaint I really have is that our server brought our bill without asking whether we would like another drink(yes) or dessert so we ended up doing some place else for an after dinner drink. But, I will still go back to Neramitra to try some of their other offerings.

So, I haven’t been here for over a year and decided to have lunch here with a few coworkers. Reading the reviews, I was worried that this place may have made a turn for the worse. To my surprise, my food was really good. Like, really good. And I tried what my coworkers were eating and that was pretty good too. I had the regular pad thai andr really enjoyed it. I am not sure why so many recent patrons are not enjoying their experience here but I think people should try this place out for themselves before writing it off.

If you’re in Pentagon/Crystal City and want Thai, check this place out. The service is very friendly and they weren’t too crowded for dinner on a Sunday evening. The food is worth the trip, they give large portions of their Massaman curry with a good amount of spice. It comes with a small bowl of rice but you can ask for more if you want it. The summer rolls with chicken, vegetables, and avocado are worth a try as well. They aren’t fried so they aren’t too heavy and are a perfect appetizer. The prices are about average for Thai in the area and I’ll be back.
