A friend recommended this place to us when we moved to Arlington this past year and it is, by far the best place we have ever been to for breakfast! If you want a home cooked breakfast like your grandmother use to make or even one that reminded me when I was a child and we would go camping and I would wake up to that good smelling aroma, then this is the place for you! The food is absolutely delicious and you will walk away feeling full but not that miserable feeling you sometimes get from eating out. We will definitely go back. The service was great as well! Expect to have to wait to be seated but isn’t anything wonderful worth waiting for??? You will be glad you waited! My favorites were the fluffy pancakes that weren’t so sweet they made you sick to the crisp strips of bacon. My mouth is watering as a write this. Well worth it!

The food I give five stars, but the service(as many times as I’ve gone) I would rate THREE stars.

The Wait: the wait wasn’t long I walked right in and was seated. I came alone. I was starving! The Service: the service was nice, nothing special. My waitress was sweet and accommodating. The only thing was whenever I go to restaurants I always order water with a bowl of lemons. I like lemon water. By the time I was about to leave she asked me if I wanted my first refill –__– … Literally whilst me getting out of my chair to pay –________– … The Food: came out in a timely manner. The food was par, I ordered the hearty… something lol. It was all the breakfast meats, gravy, fried potatoes(which were delicious), eggs, biscuits and cheese. There’s something about gravy, sausage and biscuits that makes me drool. When my plate arrived my food was between warm and cool, not cold. But between those two. I do not prefer my food being scorching hot, but I want it to hold some warmth. Again when my food arrived, there was literally a splash of gravy. Someone was being stingy. I asked my waitress for a bowl of gravy. When she came back the gravy was steaming, but to the touch it was as cool as my food, so I just decided that’s how all their food is. The food wasn’t bland, but there were only a couple of times when I hit a flavor blast. I do not add salt or pepper to a meal, but I did this time to enhance the slight lack of flavor. Over All: will I be back? Maybe. The service was nice, but there are better restaurants with better tasting food.

I love the signs on the wall. Service was ok. The food was a bit above average. Overall it was a good experience.

If you’ve never been to an Oldwest Café, they’re a local chain. Well done, well decorated, with good food, lots of tables(but usually a line of people waiting to be seated), fast service, and nice portion sizes. This is NOT a mom & pop, hole in the wall place. It could easily be a national chain, based on how well done the décor, image, etc. is. They know what they are and they’re not trying to be all things to all people. Breakfast and lunch. Close at 2. Oh, yeah! The location COULD be a little easier to get to. If you’re coming from the west, the easiest way to get there seems to be to exit at Green Oaks, u-turn under I-20, come back to Little Road, cross under the bridge, get into the right lane as quickly as possible, and then turn into the parking lot. When you’re leaving, if you need to get back onto 20, pull out of the parking lot and quickly get into the left lane for a u-turn at the light. Yes, there’s another u-turn sooner than that, but that one isn’t legal to get to from the parking lot(solid white line). So, I’m not going to suggest that one. Now, to the food! :) The cinnamon roll was more sweet than strong cinnamon, but there was plenty of cinnamon too. I prefer Ginger Browns’ Cinnamon Rolls, but they’re both great. They just have different flavors. The bacon was thick and cooked just right. I’ve seen some places that seem to skimp on a «two egg» breakfast, but not here! The fried potatoes were good, but a little bland, even after adding salt & pepper. Some chopped up onions and bell pepper would jazz them up nicely, but that’s not what the menu said they were. So, I’m not complaining. I just«wish»… :)

I LOVE this place. I am not in Arlington very often but thankfully I was able to stop by this place today. The interior decorations are very cute, dim lighting western décor, clean and friendly staff. Me and my boyfriend shared a 6 shooter with potatoes and we replaced the eggs with a sunny side up egg. The egg was a little too runny in my opinion but that was my fault. The fried potatoes were perfectly crunchy yet soft. The crunchy breaking of the chicken fried steak also added a nice crisp to the meal. Add some ketchup and hot sauce and you’re in heaven. Overall the meal was soooooo filling, and we shared the dish so it’s crazy to think that one person could possibly eat all that food. I am one satisfied customer.

Old West Café is as it sounds… a western style restaurant in the heart of cowboy country. It is open for breakfast and lunch daily, but there seems to be a small line at the door, all the time. The place is clean and decorated in old west Texas style with ample room for customers and staff to maneuver around. The wait staff is extremely friendly and attentive to your needs and wants. The floor manager can be seen walking the floor talking to customers. The food was delicious for breakfast fare, although eggs, meat and toast is hard to do too terribly. The marble rye toast is great, and the grits were some of the best I’ve had. The order was perfect, although I did have to wait a few minutes after food was served, for silverware. I would recommend this place for anyone traveling I-20 through Arlington… it is worth the stop and much better than your average chain reataurant by far with much similar pricing.

Ate here with three friends — delicious breakfast food! One of those meals where you want to have leftovers, but it is just so good, you don’t. My favorite thing we had was the panhandler(can’t remember which one it was). I also enjoyed every bite of my lemon blueberry pancake — lemony and bursting with blueberries. One of my friends got the blueberry pancake, and his pancake actually had even more blueberries than mine. They must have buckets and buckets of blueberries in the back.

Beautiful place. Great service. A lot of food. Weird tables with insets for sugar and jelly. 4 stars only because we sat at the 1 of 1 too many tables, but, most restaurants fail here.

I came here about ten times and their patty meat is perfection to me. To the crispy bread to the well done meat, it just satisfy me every time. I’m surprise I have not gotten tired of it. Their staff are amazing and Makes me feel miserable if I don’t tip them. They are that great, this is a place I would never skip if I pass it

What happened Old West? This location used to be amazing! The service has taken a serious downturn. Our waitress forgot part of my order, then forgot the table next to ours fried potatoes. The food? Meh. I order the same breakfast every time… the breakfast quesadilla. It is literally half the size it used to be, but the same price. When I went to check out, one of the girls who works there was on the wrong side of the counter goofing around blocking the registers. I just don’t get it.

Best breakfast I’ve ever had. Forget about IHOP! My wife and I came here on a Sunday morning for brunch and the wait was not bad at all. The service was good, considering it was pretty busy. I ordered the Texas Filly Steak Omelette and for my two sides I choose oatmeal and hashbrowns. I loved it and the portion was great for the price. I paid a little over $ 20 for both my wife and I, and she couldn’t finish her plate(Choose Your Own panhandler). There were several different plates we wanted to try, which made it difficult to choose just one so we are definitely coming back to try different food soon. There are also some healthier options and even meat options/substitutes for people like us that don’t eat pork. I highly recommend this place.

What a great way to end my Texas trip. Service was friendly and I loved the atmosphere. I was in a sweet and savory mood so I ordered the Bronco — 1 pancake, 2 eggs(sunny side up), 2 bacon, and a side of hash browns. I ordered the lemon-blueberry pancake and was not disappointed. The pancake was huge, at least twice the size of my hand — things really are bigger in Texas — and the blueberry-lemon combo was great. The rest of the dish was standard breakfast food done well. The bacon was nice and crispy, but not overly done. Eggs and hash browns were also pretty solid. Overall a great experience.

I have liked(or even loved) everything I have ever gotten here. I have only been to the Arlington location once, but have been to the Irving and Grapevine locations as well. The only catch is, this place is so good and always full, the wait is usually long. It’s at least 30 minutes usually, but longer on Sundays after church. The service tends to be friendly and fairly fast, but waiting for food usually takes a bit too. BUTIT’S ALWAYSSOWORTHIT! The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and I always recommend it.

I have been to 3 other locations, and for some reason, this location sucks. It’s a terrible layout. It’s a strange parking lot. My Cowgirl breakfast took 40 minutes to prepare. 40 minutes for one egg, one sausage, and one biscuit and gravy? My drink was never refilled. And the restaurant only had about 4 other customers as far as I could see. I’m starting to think that someone from the Denton, Bedford, or Sanger locations needs to step in because I’m not the first of my family and friends to note the drastic difference in quality.

This is my wife’s favorite go to spot with the girls and finally we both headed here for breakfast. Now, I love breakfast like most people and I was really looking forward to trying this place out. My wife and friends rave about Oldwest and so we arrived on a Friday morning around 10:30am. Perfect time as they were busy, but not to busy. We waited about 5 minutes, and we were walked back to one of the dining rooms and the hostess, or who ever she was was going to seat us a t a small two top in the corner. Normally I wouldn’t mind, but it was a bit dark in the corner so I told the waitress if we could have another table and she said, «this is all we have right now». OK, well, «We will wait». We walked back up front and 1 minute later a table opened up. If you have not been here before, this is a menu on steroids. My wife already knew what she was going to order, but I took my time to find the right first breakfast. I narrowed my choices to the US Marshall and the Tex-Mex Panhandler. Well, the US Marshall won. Texas toast covered in hashbrowns and sausage gravy, 3 eggs over easy, and 3 sausage links. When the plate arrived, wow! What a lot of food. Now, when it comes to breakfast and you order a traditional breakfast meal, I like that the restaurant let’s me season the food to my liking. I ordered a side of jalapeño’s mixed them in nicely, and of course had to add some salsa, as well as pepper. The breakfast was great. My wife ordered her usual Round up French toast, and it’s so much food, she ate half and took the other half home. I got a bite of her french toast and what a great bite it was. Our server was great, kept our coffee and waters full, and let us eat our breakfast in peace. Stay hungry my friends…

Loved the Migas. Plenty of food on my plate, in fact maybe too much!?! LoL But a lot of food is meaningless if it doesn’t taste good. No worries here though as my Migas were excellent! Service was prompt and friendly throughout my meal. Pricing was commensurate with most café’s breakfasts. Atmosphere was nice with their cowboy motif throughout the place. I’ll be back!

We headed over to Oldwest Café for a weekend breakfast. I had stopped in for lunch but never for breakfast. After a short 15 minute wait, we were seated at our table and drink orders taken. The breakfast menu is quite extensive and lots and lots of options and entrees to choose from. Both of our breakfasts were delicious and prepared perfectly. Service was brisk and efficient. There was no chit-chat from out server. Breakfast on the weekends is not a time to linger and take your time.
