I like to compare Pier 1 to World Market except the the furniture prices here are way more expensive for the same type of furniture pieces and they don’t sell beer or wine. But they do have nicer cake stands, china, pillows, dining tables and headboards. I’d say the furniture selection is more exotic. It’s also a great place to find a gift for bakers; there are many cute kitchen knick knacks.

Dear Pier 1 Imports in Lincoln Square, I love you and I always have. You carry all the things I need to decorate my little apartment; glittering candles, tribal print place mats, cat figurines, chic seasonal décor, funky wine glasses, embellished picture frames… You’re especially useful for friends’ birthdays and mother’s day! You really can’t go wrong picking out a gift. Just grab whatever is closest and someone you know will love it. Go ahead and grab two so you don’t feel left out. Pier 1 is like World Market without the food, wine, and beer. Don’t be sad, this can be a good thing! If I ever go into World Market looking for décor, I usually walk out with a make-your-own six pack of hard cider. It’s safer going into Pier 1 where it’s home furnishings only! I do believe Pier 1 is a bit more expensive that WM, but its setting is a bit more structured and ornate. Here’s how I see it… go to Pier 1 when you’re seeking items reminiscent of what you’d find in a Pottery Barn catalog, but you don’t want to pay that super high price. Pier 1 is the kind of place that I always yearn to browse each time I pass it. Actually, I rarely«pass» Pier 1, I almost always go in! I especially love it when autumn arrives and all the holidays are around the corner; the whole store just illuminates with festivity. You can never have enough cinnamon-pumpkin candles or red, sparkling ornaments!
