I’m new to Arlington and set out today to find a decent coffee and tea shop nearby. I also needed a wine bar but hadn’t looked for that yet. Today I found a great example of both in the same place by chance. Pretty sure that this is my new regular jam. I will be back often.

I absolutely adore this place! The coffee and tea has never been anything less than excellent and the staff has always given excellent conversation, which is less than I can say for Starbucks. Also the added benefit of the organic grocery store is really neat considering the variety of products in such a small store. Considering that a fair portion of the products are local as well, this place would be five out of five. The only complaint I have is that they don’t have a menu option present to go with the drinks. Not to say there isn’t a certain degree of creativity involved, they can and will«build» a plate if they have the stock available although it should be a constant. So in synopsis; great coffee, excellent people, cozy atmosphere, organic/local grocery with its only detraction being that they should bring back the cheese plate… Well done

Good coffee, comfy seating, quiet place to study. Wish I’d known about this place before my last week of grad school!

This was a horrible experience. I was just looking for some coffee for my girlfriend and mom. I went in expecting a coffee shop, but it appears to be a restaurant. But, I wouldn’t know as we weren’t served. When we walked in, we were not greeted. In fact, we were ignored completely. We asked if we sat ourselves and got no response. They just stared at us, so we left and went to Starbucks.

The lady that works here is so nice! The ice cream they have is so good to you have to try it. Overall this place gives a nice vibe. I love it!

Great place, great service. The first time I went I was on a mission to find gluten free baking mixes and was not disappointed. The selection of local items is fantastic, and the lady there knew seemingly everything about all of them. I’ve been back about 10 times since, mainly because I’ve developed a serious addiction to the coconut sorbet(you can find it in a mini fridge near the counter. Don’t let the plain white container fool you!)

My brother had been trying(for weeks) to get me here, but stopping for coffee just never enticed me as much as, say, a meal later in the day. I finally gave in this morning and was absolutely charmed! Not a huge coffee drinker myself, I ordered a small pot of tea for $ 2(which is a steal, really; I’ve paid more for a single cup elsewhere) and a bottled kombucha for the road. The owner was nice enough to deal with my indecisiveness by opening several tea containers to help inspire me and was genuinely helpful and interactive. Having arrived earlier, my brother had a mess of papers scattered on a table. «See?» he said, «This place is great for working on projects.» It’s true. Surprisingly large with multiple tables, there was plenty of room to spread out. A group of three came in and after casually drinking their mochas got up to check out the beer and wine room. That’s when I realized that the level of familiarity here is similar to waking up from a sleepover: you feel welcomed and at home, comfortable enough, even, to explore though fully aware you’re somewhere different. My only«complaint» was that there wasn’t much to accompany my tea, save for a small selection of packaged goods like energy bars and chocolates. When I asked, she happened to be eating a bowl of baked eggs and offered to make me a plate if I didn’t mind the 15 minute wait. While I absolutely loved how flexible she was in trying to accommodate me, I really just wanted something quick like a croissant. On my way out she mentioned that she probably should have small goods to offer –and given her previous willingness to provide, I don’t doubt she’ll have some sort of bread or quiche available soon.

I’m in love! I almost don’t want to write this review, because I don’t want to be crowded out of my new favorite spot… it feels as if it were basically hand-crafted for me. Coffee: Beautiful Italian coffee machine from the 1940’s. Very, very good coffee at extremely reasonable prices. Owner happy to recommend drinks to your taste. Kombucha, beer and wine and other drinks also available for purchase. Location, Parking: A hop, skip and a jump away from UTA in central/downtown Arlington. I pretty easily found parking in the back lot. Environment: I can’t imagine a better or more welcome contrast to the mess of parking and junk-eating options that is UTA. Potager’s Other Stuff has great lighting and a lot of great items to look over. I’m writing this review, sipping iced coffee and listening to wind chimes — this *will* be my new study/work spot. Five stars. I’ll update this review as I try more of the menu.

Very nice and authentic place! Had a coffee this morning and enjoyed the atmosphere there. I definitely will come back there! Just a note for Unilocal — actual hours are different than we can see here, they are open every day, and during the week even since 8am! Start your day with Poteger’s Other Stuff!!! :)

Went there in the morning around 9 ish and found parking in the back of the building. Went in and the lady(I assume it was Cynthia), was warm and welcoming to me and my two friends. She has her menu written on a chalkboard. There are pastries in a display counter, chocolates from Irving on top, an array of teas. Her espresso machine is so cool! Ordered a cappuccino and although it did take a little longer(expected that since she was the only person there), it was definitely worth the wait. You can tell that the girl knows how to make a good espresso because it was just the right amount of strong, not bitter, and smooth. She frothed the milk to perfection, which isn’t that hard to do, but it seems that Starbucks is always in a rush so their frothing techniques aren’t always so consistent. My girlfriends also ordered the same thing with pastries on the side, and theirs came out just as great… consistency! The pastries, however, weren’t that great in texture, but made up for the lack of that in taste. I can’t wait to go back to get myself a great cappuccino, in the meantime I have to settle with drinking Sbux.

Ahh, a quiet and genuine sanctuary in the middle of bustling downtown Arlington! Potager’s Other Stuff is a cathartic conglomeration of local, natural, valuable-to-your-health items that are for sale inside a tranquil, homey venue. Of course, this store is owned and operated by the same awesome lady who runs Potager(which is just across the street), Cynthia. If you know anything about Cynthia or Potager, you’ll know it’s Other Stuff is also grown, raised, and made in Texas; organic, and super fine quality! When you enter you may think, «there isn’t much in here,» but there’s more than meets the eye, for sure! Food, clothes, décor, wine, beer, natural remedies — everything is well spread out and displayed in a casual, comfortable manner. You kind of feel like you’re looking through someone’s personal belongings as you wander about, but please feel free to spend time in here and ask questions. The first time I visited, Cynthia asked if she could tell me about the items for sale. Yes ma’am, I’d love to hear! She walked me around and explained that their beef comes from Burgundy Pastures in Grandview, that the handmade cloth sacks are made from the sari’s of women in the east trying for a better life, that her good friend creates the amazing Apple Brandy Sherbert(amongst other interesting flavors you can sample!), and that her other friend invented the recipes for the aroma therapy sprays(which she promises are fool-proof). I asked about the«for sleep» concoction, and Cynthia told me to sample it. You just spray some onto the outside of your neck. But before I could try she said, «wait!» I probably shouldn’t since I’d be driving soon! If you’re not into aroma therapy, grass fed beef, local cheese, gluten free pasta, kombucha, or organic clothing, come to Potager’s Other Stuff for the beer and wine selection. Most are from Texas, and I’ve never seen a bigger, more awesomely priced selection of Jester King. Take your bottle over to Potager’s for lunch or dinner where it’s BYOB! By the way, I promise to get some photos of this amazing store soon!

Same concept as the Potager’s Café, but in store form. This place is great. Almost everything is locally sourced. Things that aren’t locally sourced are brought in from other local sources. Local tea, honey, art, knick knacks, wine, clothes, beer, meat, and maybe even the coffee. Speaking of coffee, the machine behind the counter is ancient and amazing. Everything is very low-key and there’s no pressure. The owner is just as happy to shoot the shit as she is to take your money. Special mention of the beer selection having many bottles from Austin’s Jester King. Extra parking in the back.
