Fantastic food, generous portion sizes, great environment, and outstanding service. Absolutely would recommend to anyone!

It did not start well. As soon as we walk in we were ignored. To the blond behind the counter right buy the front door at 6:58pm Friday night. When a customer walks into the restaurant you say hi I will be with you in just a minute. You don’t ignore them. Not only is that rude it’s bad customer service. We were shown to a both and when I sat down the seat was wet. YUCK! Seriously dry the damn seat off before you bring people to them. Apparently the bitchy blond who ignored us was also suppose to take our drink order but she apparently did not fell like doing that either. Our waitress was nice she took our order the kitchen is slow about 20 minutes for a California roll. She brings out our soup and salad and the soup was wrong. The California roll was good. About 5 minutes later half of our food comes out. Seriously so I’m suppose to eat while the person across from me watches me? WTF I ordered general tso’s the chicken and broccoli both were frozen. Costco sells better frozen entrées then this place. The fried rice was bland. I ate about half of my food then they finally bring out my husband food. He said it was fine but he also likes McDonald’s so you can’t go buy what he says about food :) the only good things about our experience here was our waitress was nice. She has middle to the back really curly dark hair. And our California roll. I would not recommend red fish.

I am very disappointed in the service we received tonight. We ordered 5 sushi rolls to go and were told it would be a 20 – 25 minute wait. 1 hour and 15 minutes later, we got the food. When we spoke to management, he gave us lots of excuses and he would not issue a refund unless we gave the food back. Seriously, after waiting over an hour to eat? We will not be returning.

Not a bad restaurant atmoshpere. I love the boat in the center of the dining room. Just moving to Memphis, we wanted to try the sushi. So here it goes! The food was mediocre… nothing special! The sushi chef lacked the ability to really bring the flavors in a roll together. The amount of «crunchies» was overwhelming. They delivered a house salad with ginger dressing with at least half an inch of water in the bottom of the bowl, probably from shocking the lettuce and the ginger dressing left a weird sour after taste. Took the waitresses recommendation for this«Jimmi Boi» roll… not good and very expensive! The other roll, eel, was served with skin from the eel instead of taking the time to skin it. The rainbow roll had fresh salmon but it again lacked any flavor. Overall, nice atmosphere and friendly staff but the food was lacking.

I heard amazing things about Red Fish and since it was so close to my neighborhood I had to try it. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. My first time there, the service was awful and took forever with only two other people in the restaurant. The sushi was dry and tasted old or just not very fresh. I have tried it a few more times just to give them the benefit of the doubt, I’ve tried many different sushi rolls, a few different Chinese type food and appetizers and each time I was still disappointed. I’ve even placed a to go order thinking that I was possibly just upset about the wait and service we received… But no, I was always disappointed and did not enjoy any of the food. I would not recommend this place for either sushi or Chinese food.

This was by far, a disaster. This place had terrible service, and it took too long for my ok tasting sushi to arrive. I really hate the soup. It was bad and if you want it right, go to Kabukis. Two Stars. The drinks were good, the only reason it was not 1 star

Thus is a hidden little gem in Lakeland. Good sushi, and hibachi dinners. I got their fried tofu, and it was perfect. Great happy hour specials, also.

Let me begin with explaining that the experience alone was justification for the two-star rating; unfortunately we never got an opportunity to try the food so that was not a contributing factor. We arrived at 6:30 on a Tuesday evening with a party of 4. We were notified that it would be at least a 10 – 15 minute wait, as they only had two servers with a party of 12 seated and a party of 10 arriving soon. As we took a seat in the waiting area we could see the party of 12 was completely seated but there were only two people present for the party of 10 as well as a table of 2 and a table of 4 both signing their checks and they promptly left. That left a total of 14 patrons in the entire restaurant. We patiently waited for 25 minutes, while we watched two parties of 2 come in and leave because of the wait and excuses. We finally had enough, as we received no updates from the hostess as she was occupied with updating the menu sign rather than consulting with the serving staff on their ability to serve a normal-sized crowd while they awaited their party of 10 to arrive. As we decided to leave the restaurant one member of our party went up to notify the hostess. She looked as us briefly and turned her head back to what she was doing– she literally did not speak one word. No apologies were made and she let us walk right out; and we went down the road to receive prompt service at another, much busier, restaurant. Frankly, the lack of respect from the hostess alone would have turned me away immediately but we were hopeful that we we would be seated sooner since the restaurant was 90% empty. I have heard great things about the food but that is only half the experience. There was no manager on-site that we could speak with and no one came out to explain anything further to us. If we ever decide to try this restaurant again, it will be a long while from now. I have a bad taste in my mouth from this experience and how this business is apparently run and will continue to give my patronage to other local businesses who seem to accommodate their customers in a timely manner with respect and communication.

Restaurant is clean and inviting. They have large booths that can sit 8 easily. The price/value point was good, especially if you ask for the specials. Fish was fresh and taste good. We ordered a tempura lunch box for our son, 8 piece sushi/8 piece sashimi and roll and 3 lunch rolls of our choice. Total spent including tip: $ 54.

The honey chicken is great! The waitress was super sweet and the whole experience was awesome. We got to sit in a ship and its so cool. But beware of the bathroom it is gross! Great place for family meals and date nights. Just such a cool place.

We love Red Fish!!! We live right down the road and order their takeout often. They have an extensive selection of sushi and all of it is well worth the price. Our top favourite is the Blossom Roll which is topped with heaps of chopped(raw) fish in a special, spicy chef’s sauce. Only $ 9.95 but worth so much more. Hubs and I have travelled through the menu a few times and love everything we get. Tonight we had: 2 egg rolls, which are served with their own, delicious dipping sauce; Crab Puffs, sweet, creamy, crunchy heaven; Sweet & Sour Chicken, very large portion and always amazing; Kung Pao Chicken, which my husband says is comparable to Wang’s Mandarin House(in other words, delicious); both entrees we substituted fried rice. Our Sushi selections were the Superman Roll, a new one for us, and the Blossom Roll, our usual. The Superman Roll is $ 11.95 and is one of their pricey-est but OMG is it amazing. It is twice the height of a regualr roll, because of everything on top. It has so many flavours and is a new favourite. Although we didn’t get them tonight we also reccomend the Egg Drop Soup, Miso Soup, Clear Soup, and Hot and Sour Soup. All fresh made, in house. The chef(s) really care about their food. If you have time, stop by their bar. It is always full when we go(we usually have our toddler and haven’t been to the bar) but it has it’s own specials and appetizers. 5 stars.

We got the shumai, crunchy eel, shrimp fried rice, general Taos chicken, and red bean ice cream. I ate so much That I feel like I’m about to pop. Amazing food and our server was sweet. The food was out very quickly. Our ticket price was $ 36 for a table full of great food. We used the Unilocal $ 20 for $ 30. So $ 26 for all that food. Definitely will be back.

This place is great. I discovered them after moving to the neighborhood, and have been dragging my suitably impressed friends here from all over. The sushi here is excellent, and the service is great. When they first opened, service was a little slow, now it’s just right. If you want fresh sushi, friendly staff, and great prices, come here. It may be a little out of the way, but the trip is well worth it.

Great service, great sushi. Similar to Isushi with traditional and untraditional rolls. Since I like to try different flavors this makes the menu fun. First time here I order a roll with seared beef on top, the beef was rare and went well the rest of the flavors. We will certainly return. The only downside is the restroom could use some attention. But not so bad that I would lower the score.

Hot and Sour Soup was loaded with fresh mushroom. Salad was small but very refreshing. Their homemade dressing is light and tasty. Sushi was good especially the yellow fin tuna. Service was good as well. The restroom could have used some attention — the waste basket was overflowing. I would give these guys 4 stars but I got a 5 oz glass of Chardonnay for $ 8. The bottle costs $ 10 in the liquor store. Thought that was excessive.

The service is always great here. I’ve been going for years. If you like fried rice, their fried rice is up there with the best around here. The sushi is always so good and they have a huge variety. I love the décor too. They have a boat in the center of the restaurant. Check it out!

Living in the San Francisco Bay Area I have been lucky to eat at some fantastic sushi restaurants. Visiting Memphis I figured the sushi would just be «ok … nothing special.» Boy was I wrong! I would put Red Fish up against my local faves & it would be hard to decipher which I liked better! My family & friends in Memphis come here weekly & now I can see why. Such creative & flavorful rolls. We sat at the bar & all the sushi chefs were personable & entertaining! They even made us a few special rolls – we just told them our favorite ingredients & then they went to work. The service was great — several servers checked on us throughout our dinner & made us feel so welcome. I’m only here for a a few nights but I’ve already decided that I have to come back before I leave. P. S. The Unilocal deal is a no-brainer — $ 20 for $ 30!

We go here at least once a week and I have been known to go more often as our house is just 2 miles away. Never had any waits for service but then we are both local and regular regulars. We usually can be found in one of the back booths not in the boat. My husband usually orders a wide variety of sushi, one of their tiny salads and sweet and sour soup. I order from either the Japanese or Chinese side from teriyaki to hibachi to early bird tempura specials to my favorite of all garlic shrimp with vegetable fried rice and extra egg. I like their miso soup but wish the salad was bigger and they start using a spinner. Don’t wear a silk blouse!
