I would never go here again! The service is really slow service when we were the only ones in the restaurant! We had to get up several times to get service and refills on drinks and to even get our order in. The drinks are really cheap during happy hour but took forever to get a simple draft beer. Also my friend and I both got food poisoning! Within a few hours and the next day we were both sick from eating here! I would avoid this place!

I came here on Christmas eve and the place was super quiet. They have a decent amount of options for food and sushi. I ordered the orange chicken as a safe option considering that this was my first time at this place. I was pleasantly surprised at the food. The portions are nice sized and the orange chicken was not too sweet. 4 stars well earned.

Unilocal removed my initial review after over a year so I will try this again in a less sarcastic tone. My wife and I have had several unfortunate experiences with food from Rein Tong. The last time we ordered from this establishment the order was incomplete, the food tasted like something from the food court in the mail, and there was pressure from the delivery person to not forget his tip. I would suggest staying clear and trying some of the other Thai places in the area. –J

This review is solely about the sushi. I ordered from a scallop roll from here and it was the most disgusting roll I’ve ever had. I believe they took small frozen scallops that you buy at the grocery store and stuffed one of them in each roll. The other roll I had was not good either. Will continue my search for good sushi delivery in the area. On the positive side, food was delivered in the timeline given and was fine.

I was extremely disappointed. I was craving sushi so I ordered the Philly roll. I picked it up and ate it just 10 minutes after it was made. There was barely any salmon in the roll and it was so soggy. My boyfriend ordered the General Sao shrimp and he couldn’t even finish it. They were completely mush. Never eating here again.

Decent. I’ve been here twice and it’s not like spectacular. I liked it, it but I wouldn’t have this as my go to. Their sushi sizes are really small and disappointing. The prices are right, but the food isn’t all THAT.

The key to Rien Tong Asian Restaurant is to generally avoid the sushi dishes. Unless you are someone with a paper-thin at best knowledge about sushi and/or what it should look like and taste like, I’d steer clear of these dishes and stick to the Thai dishes which are generally good. The real reason to come here? The crispy duck is superb and at a very low price compared to other places that serve up the same dish. They are the very tender pieces of the duck thick meat delicately fried in a light batter and served piping hot with crispy tea leaves. It’s a dish that pairs nicely with a cold refreshing amber ale or even a glass of red wine. Albeit a bit on the sloppy side in terms of the presentation, the other dishes(pad Thai, drunken noodles, appetizers) are fine — slightly boring but still just fine when it stacks up to the other more expensive Thai places in the area. What really gets to me is the dishes that have fish sauce. Now I love fish sauce as much as the next person but I think that the application really throws things off a bit as it tends to be so overpowering against other ingredients that you can taste/smell the funk from the fermented fish fanning through every bite of something normally simple like papaya salad. Still though, if that isn’t your thing, just stick to the yummy crispy duck dish.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with others. This place is okay but nothing to write home about and there are better places close by. For example, sawatdee The curry puff was good but the cucumber sauce had a weird taste. The wonton soup wasn’t great. The pad thai was fine. I don’t think I will be returning in the future.

Was looking for delivery in my area, and found this. Food came in great portions and was very tasty! Definitely ordering from them again.

A friend of mine came into town and Clarendon was the most convenient place to meet her. After walking around for a while we ended up here even though I was a bit hesitant by the pan asian combo. Truth is that most of the food was totally acceptable and actually better than any of the Thai places that I get on the hill. I would say that the menu is predominantly Thai with sushi and then some pan asian standout dishes there as well. We were both hungry so we ended up ordering a 6 piece sushi appetizer, papay salad, green curry tofu, pad thai chicken and a mango stick rice. More food then we needed or should have eaten, but it was totally good. We also had two sapporos and the total was about $ 80 bucks after tax. The papay salad was the only thing that was disappointing. It just didn’t have the right texture. The sushi was totally acceptable for a pan asian place, and enjoyable. Same with the pad thai, not great, a little watery, but tasty. The green curry was above average and the mango sticky rice was delicious(not too sweet or too much coconut cream). The restaurant was empty on a Thursday and we were able to sit outside and have a nice conversation. They also seem to do a good deal of carry out. A totally decent option.

Now, I know what you’re going to say. Ordering sushi from a Thai restaurant is just asking for trouble. Turns out, you’re right. If I can smell the sushi the second you pull it out of the bag while the top is still on the container, something is not right. After inspecting the salmon, it has that uniquely slimy looking texture and appearance for fish well past its prime. I’m sorry, Rien Tong, but never again. My girlfriend felt brave enough to pick out and eat some pieces from the other rolls while I flat out refused to try it. I’ve started my four hour countdown clock on food poisoning for her, I’ll sure to update if she goes all Mt St Helens on me. Worst part was, it was kind of expensive for rolls, and outrageous given the quality(or lack thereof). Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Mixture of foods — Chinese, Japanese and Thai Good service, also good for delivery. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants Thai food. Pad see ew and panang — recommended.

I was trying to figure out what the beef actually tasted like and to be honest, at the very best maybe like the slimy cartilage in a generic chicken nugget. Soon after dining the food felt like the alien from Alien 3 was in my stomach even though the portions were small. I asked for allot of spicy chili to counteract the grease and msg and to help me pretend i was eating something else but it didn’t work. I don’t see why this app doesn’t let me give zero stars or even negative considering what just happened.

Place is not all that clean(sticky tables) and service is choppy because they don’t speak English very well. But the servings are enough to share, and DELICIOUS. I absolutely LOVED their pad thai. And their fried rice was fluffy and flavorful. Its a hole in the wall with a bit of character, and good food.

Very good Thai food in Arlington. Their red curry is very very spicy, and their green curry is pretty mild. I recently ordered for delivery to my office for a group of 10 people, and the order only took 45 minutes to complete and get dropped off. Everyone loved it! We got pad thai, green curry chicken, a few sushi rolls, crispy duck(unfortunately this wasn’t a hit– not very crispy!), and beef and broccoli. Overall good pricing and they deliver within a few miles which is always convenient on a rainy/azy day.

Good Thai food here! I get the Panang curry a lot and it’s spicy but not too bad. They will substitute tofu in it and give you a LOT of it. Tried the bubble tea which is pretty standard but good.

I’m always disturbed when my food arrives a little too fast. I could not have had my order in for the kapow chicken for five minutes before the plate arrived at my table. My concerns were well founded. The chicken was bland and had the look of a pre-cooked(velveted, probably) preparation. The veggies were just there and all swam in a viscous, cloying sauce. I had low expectations going in, but even for those, this place couldn’t hit the mark.

This place is decent, came here over the summer with some friends. We got a table out on the patio as it was nice out. The service was good and the waiter knew what he was talking about. I had the Pad Thai, which was okay, it didn’t seem to have the right kick as it normally should, it needed some extra peanut sauce. The soring rolls were good but small and too greasy. I got the Thai tea which was delicious! My friends had the pad thai and the drunken noodles, my friend didn’t like her pad thai but the drunken noodles were great. Would likely come back to try other dishes perhaps try their sushi and will definitely get the thai tea again.

I learned the error of my ways when I rolled in here. Basically NEVER order sushi at a Thai restaurant. It is a Thai restaurant for a reason. A cat is not a dog. You cannot turn a cat into a dog. Same case with Thai food. You can’t turn a Thai restaurant into a Japanese restaurant. I will not come in here for sushi ever again. I will come back and give this place a shot on Thai. For starters — I should have gotten Thai in the first place because I was having a craving for Thai. Why did I change at the last second is beyond my comprehension now. I ordered 2 maki rolls off their happy hour. Both were awful. Why why why?! Why?! Why did I do this? Why?! Compliments that you put up 8 pieces instead of your standard 6, but this didn’t help the lack of quality’s case. Saki served hot was a great decision. I walked out with a nice little kick going. It didn’t allow me to forget about the horror food I just experienced, but there are worse things in life… like… getting a root canal. Why am I giving this place 3 stars and not 1? Service was great! The ladies were really nice people. I had one main server who checked on me periodically since I was on the patio(and only one in the restaurant), another woman pouring my water which I assume is the owner or a manager since she was the most conversing with me, and another lady who brought out little extras like food and chop sticks. I will come back and try the Thai cuisine. It will be awhile though. I’ve been chased away for the moment…

Great thai place, right in the heart of Clarendon. Never over crowded, attentive service and fairly quick food service. All of the curries are great. Having the ability to have sushi also, makes this a very attractive option for dinner. Take-out is also an option and the food will be waiting for you after 10 – 15 mins from ordering,
