Great service, nice cuts. Treat regulars like royalty. I’m never going anywhere else, they are so nice.

I got my hair colored here recently. Pam did a lovely job and I was very happy, but I felt it was way too expensive– a color and blow dry(no cut) cost me $ 180 which kind of made my jaw drop. To lend perspective, I’ve gotten my hair colored AND cut at other salons *of the same or greater quality* in the past for between $ 80 and $ 100. Also, they didn’t put vaseline or an equivalent around my hairline when dying it, and then the girl who was washing my hair(not Pam) couldn’t scrub the stains out around my hairline. Since I have bangs they weren’t visible, but even I know how to prevent getting dye stains on skin when I do it myself at home. The woman who runs the front desk can be a little bit sharp or snippish, which made me raise an eyebrow. My hair looks great but I don’t have an incentive to come back.

5 Stars for Pam at Ripples. She does a great job with curly hair. Pam was recommended to me by a coworker after hearing me complain about a bad haircut I’d gotten at the mall. I have long tight curls which springs up as it dries, an inch cut off while its combed out wet can be a 3+ inch cut when its dried. Pam understands this, she has curly hair herself. She knows the angles and layers that make my hair look less puffy. I raved about Ripples & Pam enough that my mom(who I get my curls from) switched to the salon and sees Pam more often than I do. I had my hair cut and blown out by another stylist at Ripples who was just as friendly and professional as Pam.

Had my daughter’s hair cut here once, she’s three years old. The woman who cut her hair(can’t recall her name) was really friendly and good with kids. She kept my daughter’s attention, no small feat, and gave her a cute, neat bob. My only complaint is that they don’t have prices for children’s cuts. I ended up spending around $ 30 for a trim for her, I was happy with the result, but it seemed like a lot for a kids cut. She did warn me up front that they didn’t have children’s prices, so at least I wasn’t shocked when I went to the front desk.

I started going to Ripples a couple of years ago when the person I normally went to for a cut, Renee, moved from Newbury Street. I was very apprehensive at first, as Arlington is a big switch from Newbury Street. As it turns out, I was pleasantly surprised… the salon is good sized and easy to get to… not to mention I am now able to get the same cut for 30% less(and without the pretention of Newbury Street) If you’re looking for Newbury St quality, without the attitude or cost, Ripples may be worth a look
