Environment– if you like hole in the wall restaurants this is for you. If you like fancy up scale… keep driving around. I like restaurants like this. It’s important to support your local restaurants. It may not be the best looking interior on the inside, but it reminds me of visiting an old southern grandmothers house. It probably needs a little dusting, but you know it’s safe and comforting to be there. Food– my food was amazing. A good test for a restaurant is their fried chicken. I ordered their chicken fried chicken. The chicken was tender and cooked well, but batter and flour for the chicken fried chicken was AMAZING! It’s a total must try. Their hash browns and eggs were fair. My friend liked his order of California Garbage, although he said it needed more seasoning or it needed an extra kick to it. I will come back and see how the other breakfast items are. Service– the waitress we got was very nice, funny and polite. She gave good advice about the items on the menu, the specials, and was attentive to our needs. Bonus: They make their own yummy biscuits.

Fantastic place! Waitress was an absolute sweet heart and they were packed. Food came out quick. she was precise. I didn’t catch her name but she’s a TCU fan. Be sure she waits on you.

One of the best breakfast places in Arlington! I love there Chicken Fried Chicken and eggs, but you can’t go wrong with there menu. It has a very diner feel with a great staff! The inside is nothing fancy, but the price and food is great!

Great breakfast location. It’s a little run down but the food is hot and fresh, and they have homemade toast! Top it off with excellent service and you’ve got the recipe for a 5 star Unilocal review.

This place is in serious need of new cooks. We waited 30+ minutes for food, but we read that it was well worth the wait. We received our food and it was terrible. It tasted like they didn’t use a grain of salt or pepper. The omelet was bland and the hash browns were basically unseasoned mashed potatoes. Save yourself a good hour and avoid coming to this dump.

I had an omelet with ham, bacon, and cheese with the fried potatoes. The food is better than most places but the wait was a little long(I’m guessing due to the food being good)

I love little diners like this where you can swoop in on a rainy Friday and grab some breakfast food. I wanted to try a new place and I’m so glad me and my buddies found this place! The waitress was amazing and provided super fast service. She was honest and actually told me the French fries and the chicken fried steak was frozen and that the chicken fried chicken was fresh and so I ordered that one. WOW! You really can tell that it was fresh… the chicken was moist and the breading… don’t get me started it was soooo crispy and flavorful. I have tried my fair share of chicken fried EVERYTHING but this was probably too 2 if not 1! My whole meal was only $ 8.65 and it came with a giant chicken fried chicken along with a hefty share of hash browns and two eggs any way you like it. Oh and it also comes with gravy and some bread!(:

I’ve made two visits here and both were very satisfactory. The staff is nice and the service is friendly/like being in someone’s home. The prices are super affordable and the breakfast is plain good. Try the waffles, biscuits, and omelettes.

My breakfast was tasty, omelet was very good and the biscuits and gravy were delicious. The staff was also very friendly. The place is old and could use a facelift which usually isn’t a problem for me, except… the smell. When we sat down a very unpleasant smell hit my nose which almost caused me to walk back out. I won’t be returning because of it, unfortunately.

Visited there on Sunday noon for brunch. The owner, the staffs and the main chef are very friendly and sweet. The food is awsome. We had pancakes with pears for the whole table. I used to love pancake from IHOP, but it’s nowhere compare to the pancakes here. It was so good that we had to order another stack of pancakes. Try the fresh baked biscuits, omelets(with over 20 varieties you can choose from). I definitely come back here again.

Found this place when Unilocaling for a breakfast spot while visiting my bf and I’m really glad I gave it a chance! We had the nicest waitress with a smile always on her face. There’s tons of omelette’s to choose from and they have a good selection of other items on the menu. BF got something called the California garbage and I got an omelette. Both of us chose the biscuits and gravy for our side item. We both loved what we got along with the quality and were pleasantly surprised at how affordable and quick this place was too. I will definitely be coming back the next time I’m in town!

Do not order the«french toast». Waffle was good. Service was quick and friendly before closing, which was an odd hour.

Definitely a hole in the wall. If you have a weak stomach for places that look unsanitary– this isn’t the place for you. The waitresses have attitude problems and mostly only check on their regulars. If you can get over those things– its a great breakfast spot that isn’t completely packed out at 8am on Saturday. They have some interesting and delicious menu items like the Biscuit Debris and a wide range of crazy omelettes. My husband and I always get like 3 things and share.

HOLEINTHEWALL. I blinked and literally missed it. I was so very skeptic, bc this place needs some work. It’s so old… but maybe that’s the charm. It’s so good. Didn’t have to wait. It was myself and my son. We had way to much food, again bc my eyes have greater authority than my tummy. Our server was just the nicest lady. The pancakes are huge. I should have just ordered one order and my son could have split it with me. They made good grits… that’s a deal breaker lol! But it smells old, and the décor is straight out of the 70’s. So the whole aesthetics thing kinda messed me up, but if I am in the area again, I’d go back.

Rise and Shine gets super busy on weekends so either get here early or expect to wait a little bit. Besides the wait the food is pretty damn good. The French toast was freaking awesome! There are about 1,000 different ways you can order omelets here and I think it would take you a lifetime to actually have every single version that they offer. The grits were very good and smooth not to gritty. You also can’t go wrong with the raisin toast and chocolate milk they both taste super good. I really think that if you just close your eyes and randomly pick something off the menu(excluding the liver and onions yuck) you will have a great meal. The service was a slow at first but once you place your order your food comes out pretty quick. What was also good was that our drinks were never empty and the waitresses were always quick to help. I’m looking forward to going back here but at the same time I know in the future to come early so that the service comes quicker.
