The Cedar Stump

Would have liked to «rest my rump» but the over priced food gave me food poisining and I spent the day in the bathroom sicker than I have been in a long time. Service was poor, price was way high all to be sick. Avoid this place!!!

Love this place. Food is awesome. Tammy is a great person and does a lot for the community. The Prime Rib is fantastic. Best beer Garden around!

Here is my detailed, personal, customer experience.
The context is that I am a law abiding citizen who frequents places that respect my civil rights.
The details are that 2 staff of this establishment, one waitstaff and a person claiming to be a manager spoke with me PERSONALLY and told me they do not respect or understand WA state law, specifically RCW 9.41.300 and how it provides a bright-​line between portions of pubs/​restaurants that are for people over 21, and other areas which are all access areas and family friendly.
Specifically: «That portion of an establishment classified by the state liquor control board as off-​limits to persons under twenty-​one years of age;»
The staff angrily informed me that regardless of their ignorance of state law, they claimed it would be illegal for me to be present even in their all-​ages section. I have never been treated as rudely as I was by a restaurateur as I was by these two staff.
If a business is actively discriminating against a type of person, that is a valid customer review to post online. Unilocal has taken this review down twice. The first time they claimed they didn’t think it was a personal experience. The second time they thought it didn’t contain enough detail. Both are obviously bogus reasons and in reality someone from Unilocal’s San Francisco office with an anti-​2A ideological axe to grind is trying to sterilize reviews of this place since the business started openly discriminating against law abiding citizens exercising their 2^nd Amendment rights.

They need to take some of the money they are making and put it to good use fixing the place up some. really needs the outside entry worked on, and also needs a paint job BAD inside… other then that the food is good, and beer is cold.

Overall its boring and average. The plus sides: surprisingly good waitress service! Good large outdoor patio if you want to sit outside or smoke with your beverage. Negative sides: cash only, decorated in early basement, small inside, not a sports bar, pool tables are in a bad spot with no lighting or room, TVs are placed poorly, the live music is good, but all over the place in genre, prices were the same as any nice bar, so why spend my entertainment dollar here?

They only accept cash, which only serves to benefit their establishment and not their customers. Music is unpredictable and when it’s good it’s good, but when it’s not you’re held hostage to their boring and bland music choices. Staff is inattentive, unfriendly and service is slow.

Where do I start? I gave it two stars because the food was good. I had the prime rib dip with cajun fries. The meat was nice and tender. The fries were awesome! I think they make their own ranch because it had a thicker consistency and that was yummy as well. Now on to the service. Ugh, it was horrible. We saw our waitress maybe three times. First to take our drink order, second for food order, and third to bring us our food. After that I have no clue where she went. The bartender was serving all of the people at the bar, so my guess is she was hanging out in the beer garden with the other customers whom I assume must have been friends and regulars. Luckily the bartender was able to write up our bill so we could pay and was kind enough to bring us boxes for our leftovers. Our drinks were never refreshed. I would not call this place a sports bar, I only saw one tv. Cleanliness was sub-​par, there was a dead spider hanging from the ceiling. I didn’t dare try to use the bathroom, so I chose to hold it for the 4 minute drive home. I would only go again to pick up food, but not stay. Oh and a bar that doesn’t take credit cards? I thought it was 2015 not 1975.

Mardini’s flipping burgers in this joint now? Really? How could Zuhair stoop as low as «The Stump»? As another reviewer commented, this place is «legendary» for being a grease-​pit. Low-​lit ambiance masks the flaws of this subpar building in need of a visit by the SnoCo Health Inspector. Smells like a musty cabin at Camp Warm Beach. Buyer Beware!

ok for food if you like to wait 30 mins to an hour? but food is great. service is ok got bartender waiting tables save money ok, nobody in this place lol, am so pissed at going to buzz inn have to make people stand to make an order and cannot read the stupid menu sign or big deal to even be seated at buzz in at a table for get a menu for 5 people expect you to stand at and order cant sit have drink and order oh no wow, so we go try cedar stumpers well all was fine until you try and pay your bill wow umm only take cash!!! …so like umm who has cash in cashless society really, oh well we have an atm which you can pay a big fee to get cash to pay your cash bill and if you say anything your the bad person and get idiot owner bald dork in face like wow, me and my father both vets my father ww2 vet and to be treated this way over, who or what kind of real place dont take a debit card who takes cash I dont I have card cashless society wow, so never go to this place I would run by the bank first or pay atm fees at thier atm, wow ok look, senerio, dude lets go to dinner and drinks at cedar stumper, well I dont have cash, thats ok they have an atm which transaction only cost 10 bucks, well I dont want to pay that, gosh let me run to my atm for no fee cash, oh no time lets go to a place that takes my bank card and no fee ok, byby cedarstump wit bald headed dummy in my face failing gone, never mess with a vet get…

A group of 5 of us stopped here after a long hike.
Parking is free in a large parking lot. Credit cards are NOT accepted so bring cash. There is an ATM available but who wants to pay those fees?
This is your typical dive/​biker bar. Dim lighting on the inside with a few TV’s.
The outdoor patio is quite large with ample seating. Smoking is allowed in the outdoor seating area. There are several areas that have sun umbrellas if you don’t like to sit directly in the sun. We all enjoyed sitting outside.
My wife ordered a pounder of Mac & Jack for $ 5 and I ordered a Manny’s for $ 5. For our lunch we split the crispy chicken burger for $ 8.99. The burger consisted of one large chicken strip, sliced tomato, shredded lettuce, white onion, pickle chips and mayonnaise. For our side we chose the creole seasoned fries. The fries were absolutely terrible: soggy, limp and luke warm.
Service was slow. I think our waitress was also the cook and bartender.
Bottom line, a great place to refuel the body with a few cold ones and bar grub. As with most dive bars, expectations shouldn’t be too high.

LOVVVVEEEEEE THIS PLACE!!! Super friendly staff. Good music and they treat you like a part of their family! Also good food!!!

The breakfast was awesome! Real biscuits and some of the best country gravy I have had. Good prices and good people

The worst service I have ever seen. For a little place, I expected more I guess. When I went to tab out, I was told I couldn’t and that I had to wait until someone had the time to do it. That equated to almost an hour. A good tactic to get people to drink more, but for me, it proved I have no use for this bar.

Ah the Stump! This place is legendary for many things some good some bad. Love the fact they have a large outdoor area. Great place to ride the Hog up North and stop in for a beer.
New owners are trying hard and they have some good bands and the pub grub is pretty good. Burgers are great! tell them Zip sent ya!
