A hole in the wall type place that seems to want to be some type of sports bar. Too many TVs, IMO, for such a small place and there was no way to eat there AND get away from the noise of the TV’s. :( I had a two piece fish combo with fries & hushpuppies. The fish was pretty decent. I like the breading, although the fish itself seemed like it had dried a little along one edge before cooking OR was overcooked, I’m not sure which. The fries seemed to be standard-issue, frozen, throw-‘em-in-grease fries. Not the cheap crinkle-cut fries you get at some places, but they didn’t strike me as fresh-cut from whole potatoes either. The hushpuppies were… I’m not sure. Basically, they were just cornbread, rolled in a ball and deep fried. Not«good.» Not«bad.» Just«ehhhh, they’re alright.» I would probably opt for something else, if given a choice on the hushpuppies.

Best catfish and fried okra ever! And their wings were perfect too! Our meal was served hot and fresh, and the onion rings were deliciously crispy and seasoned perfectly! If you love catfish or wings, you have to try TJ’s!

Man we love this place! Best catfish I’ve ever had. Travis has done a great job with TJ’s, everyone feels at home, everyone is his friend, the staff is great, the four is great, you gotta try it out!

This hole in the wall has quickly become my favorite local place. The location is in a strip mall with no fancy signs outside so it’s easy to dismiss if you don’t know about it. Inside is quit the surprise, full of sports memorabilia, strong support of local school teams, 6TV’s and two rows of stadium seats. Now to talk about the food. The prices are affordable, not to mention .59 cent boneless wings every Tuesday. There ain’t much on the menu… chicken wings(traditional and boneless), catfish or fried shrimp for the most part. The wings come in 17 different flavors, all 6 that I have tried have been amazing! This is one of the few places that I have been in town that actually offer collard greens as a side. The only downfall of this place is that they do not sell alcohol OR offer BYOB… guess that’s why Pluckers is still in business!

Excellent customer service! Clean establishment and excellent food! The catfish, wings and collard greens are all to die for! I’m mad that I didn’t know about this place sooner. They’ve been in business for 14 years. I will be going back regularly and I highly recommend this place! The best experience I’ve had dining out in quite some time from all aspects!

I have been meaning to review this restaurant. Days are busy and somehow got passed me… that being said… we went to this restaurant this past Monday… here its Friday and I’m still remembering just how good this place is… lets start with #1…the owner is behind the scenes and a hands on and a local business owner, cannot beat that. We had the catfish. …‘delish…crispy and cooked thru without compromising the moisture in the fish. Looking for a place to eat? Give this a shot…

Amazing food. The catfish is the best I have had. Wonderful tartar sauce. The wings probably make all the chain wing places weep with jealousy. Buffalo Garlic is a special favorite of mine. It’s BYOB so you can enjoy your favorite adult beverage along with amazing food.

My husband and I love this place. The catfish is great! I’m pretty picky about catfish and I just love it here. Everything we’ve tried has been good. The slaw, potato salad, greens are all super good. We’re not big wing fans, but we’ve had the medium spicy and the honey barbeque wings and they were very good. We’ve eaten in the restaurant and we’ve ordered take-out, and it’s great either way. Other reviews have said the staff was rude. I certainly haven’t experienced any rude behavior, but I would say that my experiences here would have been more pleasant if a couple of the gals taking orders were a little more outgoing and smiled. Basically, maybe just a little more customer service skills or training. That is the ONLY criticism I could have about TJ’s. We’ll definitely be back!

It was my first time to try it at 8:15 pm on a Tuesday night I ordered 3 chicken wings and they were smaller than the ones that you can buy at Wal-Mart they over cooked them. I order 3piece catfish dinner with slaw, all was good. Then the sauces of tarter, was different taste but I liked it, but the most I liked was the cocktail sauce. Poor service the little young lady at cash register was not friendly at all. So there at the end results are fair!

Pretty good place for catfish or wings. Wings are not that hot even at hottest level, but have decent flavor. I’m not a fan of their tartar sauce as it is more mustard than mayo. It’s overall a good hole in the wall place to eat in Arlington.

Eh. Just a bunch a frozen-then-fried food served by grumpy people. I ordered the buffalo shrimp with fries and honey bbq sauce to go. They forgot to add my sauce so they’re just fried shrimp. The only cool part was that inside they had stadium seats, in case you really wanna feel like you’re watching the game. Won’t be back.

Chicken strips barely had any batter and they just put the sauce on the side. That’s just lazy. The cashier just pointed to the sauces like i should’ve known them. Chicken tasted freezer burnt I took two bites and left. Worst chicken I’ve ever had.

Best catfish in DFW. The wing flavors are hands down better than any other in the area. Wing stop has nothing on them. They are byob and do watch party’s for the big games, with true stadium seating. Are lunch special built in for the high school kids to enjoy a quick lunch. The management are always quick to do whatever they can to help you out and frequently hand out free drinks and sauces to guest. Keep supporting!

This place was definitely better than J&J oyster bar and crescent city seafood! Loved that they have added wings to their menu along with some more side items. The greens were great! The fish was good too. Just need to update their website with the new menu items. I heard another customer complain of that… having to spend a lengthy time on the phone, because you are unable to see the updated menu.
This place is only a couple miles from my house so I’m kind of embarrassed it has taken us this long to try it out. It’s sandwiched in the middle of a strip mall so easy to miss, unfortunately, but it’s bigger on the inside like a Tardis. And more importantly, they serve a great meal for a reasonable price! TJ’s focuses on(you guessed it) catfish and wings. They also have variations on that theme — fried chicken tenders, fried shrimp, etc. and a good assortment of classic southern comfort veggies like collard greens and green beans. I tried one of the lunch specials which was 2 catfish, 3 pieces of fried shrimp, hush puppies, a side(I got collard greens) and a drink for $ 9.99. It was one of, if not the, best fried catfish I’ve had. The batter is very light and crisp — if it were any lighter it wouldn’t be there — which is just how I like it. The fish was very fresh and not«gamey» at all. The fried shrimp were good too but the catfish is the star. I enjoyed the collard greens and the hush puppy which was more like a regular sweet cornbread. A couple of my family members tried the jamaican jerk wings — be warned that they are HOT. They can normally tolerate pretty hot wings and both of them admitted these were hot for them. Another tried the chicken tenders and gave them a thumbs up. TJ’s was pretty busy when we arrived at lunchtime but in addition to the regular tables they have a «stadium seating» section that would be great for watching a game from so no one has to crane their neck uncomfortably to do so. I don’t really eat fried food all that often but every once in awhile I’m jonesing for some fried seafood and I’m pretty sure next time I am, I will come back here and order some more delicious catfish!

This was my first trip and I’ve been driving wondering so I thought I would stop. I only got the 2 piece catfish with okra a good price for $ 6.49. The catfish was well seasoned and fried to my liking. The okra was okay nothing special. I agree with Jo P. the hush puppies were underwhelming. I didn’t care for the tarter sauce it tasted like tarter and remouade sauce mixed which I like individually but not mixed together. The place is small but it’s nice all the sports memorabilia. The 2 rows of stand seating for watching television is a nice touch. I would say there are too many tables for such a small place or maybe they should be spread out differently. I do intend to try the wings in the future and I’ll update my review then.
