Mattress Source

I usually don’t write reviews but I am hoping people don’t make the same mistake we did. This is an expensive investment! Go somewhere where they will work with you!!! This is not the place. We bought a mattress there two weeks ago! Had lots of problems they did finally get it fixed. Couldn’t sleep in the bed for the first week. My husband and I wanted to buy from local companies. We went here and bought a bed from Restonic which is also local. Will not purchase from either again and definitely won’t recommend to friends. I have two friends who will be looking for new mattresses within the next 6 months and I will let them know not to go here. Our mistake was wanting to help the local companies. When they told us there isn’t a trial period we should have walked out! We didn’t and the salesman told us they would work with us if needed. If we would have bought it somewhere else and had the problems we did we could have just brought it back! Unfortunately it is companies like this that give the little man and the local companies a bad name! I don’t know how they have so many stores but they don’t have good customer service and they don’t back there products! Neither company has even called to see if the problem is fixed or if everything is okay!

I thought I needed just a new mattress. Nope, I needed the whole kit & caboodle (mattress, box spring & bed frame). Total cost: about $ 900 (includes taxes & delivery)! The Sealy mattress was just what I needed for my bad back. Fast & efficient delivery! The mattress itself wasn’t a pillow top. This place has way more variety than Sam’s Club. Friendly & very informative staff. They take away your old mattress & box spring. But, you’ll have to tell them when they confirm your delivery. And the mattress & box spring can’t have human stains (e.g. blood, etc.).

Signed, sealed, and delivered! Actually, it was delivered last Wednesday, but daddy hasn’t had much time (ha, calling myself that freaks my wife out… which is funny). Now, being as though I wasn’t the one that actually received the delivery, this rating is based on Janele’s (wife) assesment. From all accounts the delivery sounded… exciting? Witnesses say there were two men, one scrawny and one a little more ‘stout.’ Sources say that these two men argued a little about which door, front or back, to bring the mattresses in (daddy suggested the back door, wider hallways, but delivery men apparently like to do things the hard way). It was decided that they would use neither, but instead hoist the mattresses to the second floor balcony and use that door. I have no freakin’ clue why, but whatever… it makes for a fun time. Our mattress set didn’t rip, they set it up, all is well… so therefore I keep this rating at a four star.

Update on the mattress situation (like you care… I know):
the initial mattress we purchased — something from the Sealy Hotel Collection, I believe– was too big to fit into our apartment. No shit. The delivery guys tried their hardest and it just wouldn’t work.
Because this is a mattress warehouse, Mattress Source has a «this is what you get — no refunds» kind of store. They could have easily told us to figure it out and it’s not their problem. But being the nice guys that they are, they allowed us to pick out a comparable mattress.
Lucky for us, this one did fit through the door and up the two flights of stairs, so when I get home from San Fran this week, I’ll come home to a brand new bed. Can’t wait!
