I come here to get my hair cut and colored by Pam. I absolutely love the environment. Very comfortable and everyone is super welcoming and friendly.
I have very dark brown hair naturally and Pam has done a fabulous job at getting me to a perfect «bronde» without any damage to my hair and without any brassiness! I will post photos of my hair so you can see for yourself!

I come here all the time for hair, eyebrows, nails, and massages. The staff is all so friendly. The owners obviously know how to run a successful salon. I get my hair cut by Pam and Flo. They are both professional lovely ladies. If you are looking for a nice atmosphere to change up your look or just relax, GO TO CUTTING EDGE!

My mom has been coming to Cutting Edge for about 3 plus years and I just recently moved to the area. She and I really enjoy getting our hair cut and colored by Johnny. He’s really easy-​going, friendly and knowledgeable. We both feel very comfortable in his chair knowing that he will make us look good. All of the employees are personable and professional.

Apparently Johnny cannt cut womens hair! Just before my 40^th he hacked it. No picsfor me on this joyous occasion! Way disappointed!

You can’t beat going to one of the original salon’s in the 5 cities area. Most of the salons in the 5 cities have trained in this salon and learned from them. There’s quality work equivalent to large cities with reasonable affordability.

This is a terrific salon, I get my hair done by Holly every 8 weeks ., the staff is professional, I love my hair !!!

I have been seeing FloLyn since she opened this salon, however I took a ten year break, due to finances. Coming back has been like coming home. She and her husband Tony treat everyone, clients and staff, like family. She cuts and colors my hair, and FloLyn is a magician, with a great eye for detail, style and color. When I change what I want, she always makes sure that it is flattering against my skin tone, and she always has a fun energetic vibe. I love going to this salon. I recently moved 40 miles north, but she is worth the drive, I wouldn’t dream of seeing anyone else. The staff always does their best to accomodate my appointment times. The other stylists, nail techs and massage therapists seem to do wonderful work as well. I love this salon. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Owner Flolyn did my hair this last weekend. I now call her «the hair whisperer»! My haie was severely gtown out and damaged. She cut and colored it beautifully. It has come back to life. I have had many positive responses. Thank you!

Let me start out by saying « Unilocal essentially gives a tremendous forum for a bunch of uninformed morons». If you need to «Yelp» where to get your hair colored, put your phone down and actually go speak to the people coming out the door… You will then get a true and accurate review of the Salon.

My wife and I have been customers of the Cutting Edge for years. We have never had a bad experience.

We San Luis Obispo County residents know and understand that what makes this County the best place in the Country to live and work are the people. Please come and visit. Drink our wine. Support our local business community. But please leave your «Big City» attitude at home. We don’t need your negative vibe and or reviews!

They were extremely rude. Didn’t end up getting any services. I was ready to spend a ton on services. But I can’t sit in a salon for hours if the owner and staff are unpleasant. It’s the type of place that tries to convince you of what you want aka I don’t feel like working so I’m going just suggest the easiest cut/​color possible and argue with the client until they agree that I’m right. Not ok.

I made an appointment for a cut, color, and highlights with Pam. I let her know I wanted long layers and that I wanted the color to look great it had been a while since I had it done. She went to the back and I assumed that she was getting a book of swatches. She came back with color already mixed. This really concerned me because she had no idea how I wanted my color. Finally she got a book of swatches she didn’t seem to know what she was talking about and kept saying «I’ve been doing hair for years.» The owner was observing this the whole time. I have natural red tones in my hair that I complement with certain colors because there’s no getting rid of it and Pam did not seem to understand this and was suggesting things that would not work and kept insisting she could get the red out of my hair which didn’t matter at all as I didn’t want it gone. I pay a lot of money to get my hair done I’m not going to sit in a chair for hours and hope and pray the woman who isn’t listening to me gets it right so I left. As I left the owner had the nerve to say «her hair looks awful anything you did would have helped.» I’ve never heard anyone speak openly about a client this way in a shop full of people. I came with my hair undone and unwashed because that’s how your suppose to show up for color. I’ve never received such poor customer service or have been insulted at a salon. Worst experience ever. Don’t come here these people do not care about your comfort or satisfaction.
Revision: If you’re paying $ 85 for the color alone you deserve to see a swatch book without any attitude.

Pretty and healthy looking nails done by someone who knows what they are doing is very important to me. I have been to other nail salons here on the Central Coast and no other manicurist has done a better job than Bridget. She KNOWS her stuff and does a fabulous job. She’s done everything from the basic french manicure to Santa and stockings at Christmas. If you want to have the job done the right way the first time and every time, be sure to call for an appointment with Bridget!

Needed a hair cut TODAY as I was looking for a job and couldn’t do a search until I looked presentable. Carrie was able to get me in with a few minutes notice. I was pleasantly surprized at the attention to detail she took with my short, gray sassy, edgy cut I asked for. She had a lot of fun doing it and I enjoyed the experience. I will defintely ask for Carrie again!

I am coming in tomorrow to have my nails redone. I’m so sorry for going anywhere else. Top Nails was a nightmare, but I know Cutting Edge can pick up the pieces and make me shine again. Don’t skimp on quality. Go here. Get it right the first time.

Update: I’m a regular with Angie at Cutting Edge now. The best thing is probably a genuine interest in her work as well as superior hygiene. She has great customer service and proper work. My nails have to look good in my job, but they can’t look like big neon signs. My boss likes them, so I’m home free :)

I love getting my nails done by Angie; she is very meticulous and fashion forward! You’ll love her work!

Came here with my mother-​in-​law during a ladies’ day out. She had originally scheduled pedicures for that morning, but I got a little excited and asked for manicure service AND eyebrow waxing. They graciously squeezed us in for all of the above services and did a very good job on it, to boot. Staff was friendly, place is very clean, and manicures/​pedicures take place in a cute lofted area. Overall a very good experience!

Made an appointment and was serviced by Amy. She could not have been nicer or more helpful in my decision-​making!
The salon was super clean and very well-​lit. The staff all seemed to get along well, chatting with each other and their customers. There is plenty of parking and it’s very easy to find.
I highly, highly recommend Amy in particular, and Cutting Edge overall, if you’re looking for a place to get your ‘do *done* :)
