The good: The service was very good. The wait staff were nice and accommodating. Items arrived in a timely fashion. From the all you can eat selection my dinner party liked the sliced lamb, beef, fish, muscles, and the various vegetables were good. The electric burner was easy to adjust and could quickly bring the broth to a boil. The bad: I suppose it depends on personal preference, but we expected the chicken to either be boneless/skinless chunks or thinly sliced, but instead chicken was chunks cut from a whole chicken. They are a bit restrictive on sauce and getting more sauce costs extra. A couple items we marked on the order sheet never came even after marking it on multiple orders.

Where do I begin? If you don’t care about good service, cleanliness, ambiance, or overall experience then the food is actually sort of tasty. However, if you do care about any of those things, then you’ll probably enjoy it as much as I did. You see serious operational weaknesses as soon as you walk through the door. The servers barely know how and where to seat you. Then when you do find your seat you see that your table is sort of clean. Sort of clean. Then they give you a slightly complex self ordering menu that they may or may not explain to you. Then they might eventually take your drink order. Then they’ll eventually bring your napkin and chopsticks. Eventually. Then you’ll see that the sticks and spoon is mostly clean. Mostly clean. Then you’ll eventually figure out how to mark your order form and they’ll take it from you. Then you figure out you have to walk off to the back corner of the restaurant to prepare your dipping sauce. Then you’ll see the gnats fly off the green onions because you woke those gnats because you wanted green onions. Then your broths(spicy or regular) will eventually come out. Then the stove might actually work. Then the food that you ordered or at least most of what you ordered will eventually come out. Then you’ll ask for the food they forgot. Then you’ll refill your own water because they forgot too. At this point, you are way past the point of regretting ever walking through the door. Then eventually, thankfully, the check comes, you painfully pay, do not tip and can finally leave.

Not bad. Not bad at all. I think people are expecting something too much for AYCE Hot Pot. 1. Service. We went on a Friday Night which was surprisingly not that busy. We got there around 8:45PM. Seating was immediate, waited about 4 minutes for a server to get to us. We ordered the second to cheapest meal which included the lamb. $ 20.00 per person. 2. Drinks: Unfortunately, my Tsingtao thirst was not fulfilled by this Chinese restaurant, however we did do the«BOGO» drinks. We basically got two ice slushies for $ 4.75. Her mango was a bit flavorless, and my lychee was syruppy. They should definitely develop a menu for better drinks and maybe some Soju. 3. Food: The boiling pot came out first. We got the half and half. The spicy soup was definitely delicious but is very spicy in a weird way. The amount of oil used to spice up the soup is a little more than you can just slurp up without having a harsh cough. All of our meal selections came out not too long thereafter. There were some tender cuts of beef, the lamb was delicious and most of the stuff, although frozen was not bad. Pretty fresh for what it’s worth. The giant clam was semi-disappointing because it came out a little frozen and thawing out. That was a little sandy on the inside and some broken pieces 4. Value. Now here’s the pitch. I’ve lived in Cerritos for the past 6 years and I have ate at various KBBQ, tofu places, and other joints. I think for the money, and for the quality of food, you can’t go wrong. AYCE. 20 bucks and a nice meal with your girlfriend. This place is clean. Decent service. Good Food. Decent price. I’m happy.

Good AYCE! They have 5 stages of AYCE, which offer different meat varieties. I only eat lamb for hot pot so I went with the 2nd cheapest one(about $ 20) It helps if you speak Chinese bc the workers here are not good at English at all! I’ve only had AYCE here but my mom came and ordered off the regular menu and said the meat quality gets worse after each order and it’s also frozen to begin with. That doesn’t happen with the AYCE menu for some reason, but I’ll take it! They give you half regular and half spicy soup base. There’s a sauce bar in the corner of the restaurant for you to make your own. Service is a little slow, there were only 2 waiters on a Friday night. They can’t seem to allot more than a minute at your table before they are rushed off to do something else. The AYCE menu is pretty intensive and they’re not shiesty with your orders. The lamb is good and I usually also order tripe, napa cabbage, crystal noodles, mushrooms, mussels, and some fish balls and it’s all great! However, the beef balls were pretty gross so I wouldn’t recommend those. Although I mentioned waiters are busy and kind of inattentive, they do frequently come by to refill your pot with more soup. They don’t serve alcohol but you can bring your own! Overall, a good place for hot pot!

Nothing that special. Came here to try out the hot pot with family, and I’m pretty sure that we will just do our own hot pot at home next time. I do not recommend the AYCE deal. Don’t get duped! Not satisfied because: 1. This is not a true all you can eat: In the event that you get a AYCE buffet, order all the high quality meat that is available FIRST. They give you a huge menu/checklist on your first order, but when we wanted to eat more of the braised lamb and USDA meat, they weren’t on the checklist! The checklist we got on our following orders only had a few selections, which is ridiculous, since it’s supposed to be all you can eat. 2. We were missing a lot of our orders/orders that we didn’t order were brought out to us. My family and I aren’t picky eaters, so we didn’t really have a problem with the wrong meat/vegetables brought out to us, but it was slightly irritating because they didn’t bring out the meat that we actually ordered and wanted. 3. They didn’t give us our four $ 10 off coupons. There’s a short story behind this. When we first got our check, we had four coupons, but I went up to the register and wanted to use three $ 10 off coupons that we already had. They took back the checkbook(with the four coupons in it) + the three coupons I handed to him. We got $ 30 off our order, but they didn’t give me the four coupons… when I pointed that out to them, they said they used it on our discount. I tried reasoning with them to get our coupons, even said that one of the rules on the cards said something like«Only allowed to use on the next visit.» Then at some point I realized that nothing I say would get through to them. The food itself was pretty decent. However, thumbs up for the lamb! I’d recommend all the other orders, just not AYCE. Overall, –4 for the service and bad experience, but they redeemed +1 for the food and two types of broth.

I love Hot Pot. and I love Hot Pot thats ALLYOUCANEAT! This place is pretty awesome. For the price you pay(around $ 20/person)…you get an all you can eat option. This place is one of the better all you can eat hot pots because 1) the meat is actually pretty guud… unlike some of those other places where the meat taste super rough 2) great selection… unlike others where the menu is limited I only wished that they had more soup bases present. This definitely ranks as a nice AYCE hot pot place… would I come back again? Yah… maybe. Im just ok on this place… on second thought Great and Fast service by the way! UNTILTHEN! ^-^

I am definitely a hot pot lover so I tried this place as soon as I found that in Unilocal.I tried their«all you can eat» buffet for about $ 20/person. We paid $ 50 for two people(including everything). Service: Me and my boy friend were the first customer over there so basically they serve us «exclusively» ;-) Food: Beef and Lamb are pretty good. Shrimp is ok… not that fresh. The clams(yes those are clams when they called them«mussel») are fresh. Everything’s tasty especially the broth. No beer and no dessert. Of course it’s not as cheap as the hot pot places in SGV and has less variety, but I would go back again since it’s closer to my home.

The portions here are generous, the service is okay, the quality of the food has left more to be desired. Came here on a Friday night and was seated immediately– the restaurant was at least half empty. You have a choice of AYCE hot pot or a selection from the al la carte menu. We opted for AYCE and filled out a checklist for what we wanted: a bunch of veggies, chicken, pork, some seafood, and tofu. You also check off 1 – 2 broth bases– we choice chicken and spicy. Overall, the broth was satisfactory. The food itself was okay– how can you go wrong with veggies and sliced meat? but the tofu was pretty foul, the luncheon meat(Spam wannabe) was horrible, and the seafood wasn’t exactly the freshest. However, they weren’t skimpy with the portions and they were even fast to offer a second checklist to get more food. The dipping sauce selection was rather small and mostly everything was empty– i.e. they didn’t bother to refill anything. Again, the food was okay. Don’t know if I’d really come back. I think I’m more of a shabu shabu person.

When it comes to something as simple as a hot pot or shabu shabu, I look for two main things, quality of meat and dipping sauce. In many instance the dipping sauce is more important to me than the quality of meat because the sauce can flavor the meat. I think the quality of meat here is acceptable but I just didn’t like the choice of dipping sauces. They give you a choice of bbq(the Chinese style, not American bbq), sesame, and garlic. There’s no ponzu sauce here. This is Chinese hot pot, not Japanese shabu shabu. For party of two they gave us one garlic sauce and one sesame sauce. The sesame sauce didn’t taste anything like goma sauce from Japanese shabu places. It had a bitter, herbal taste which I didn’t care for. The garlic sauce was too simple. Just minced garlic in oil. I wish they added some other flavors to go with garlic. You have the option of going with all-you-can-eat for $ 19.99, 8 oz. meat for $ 9.99, or 12 oz. meat for $ 12.99. If you go with 8 oz. or 12 oz. you get to choose from several different broth choices. This part was rather annoying because you can only get certain type of meat depending on the broth you choose. For example, you can only get pork with the pork broth and chicken with spicy chicken broth. I wanted to get beef with pork broth. My wife and I ended up getting tomato broth and beef broth. When they brought out the broth, it already had vegetables cooked in it, unlike shabu shabu where they bring it out separately. The broth was quite substantial because it also came with mushrooms, fish filet, fish balls, one shrimp with head and shell, baby corn, carrots, cabbage, and glass noodles. Neither of the broths were too flavorful. I wouldn’t mind coming back here if I can bring my own dipping sauces. The price is good for amount of food you get. Right now they have 20% off coupon for grand opening which expires on March 31, 2013. The selection of meat and broth is quite extensive as well.

Yes!!! Finally a great new addition close to home! No need to drive 30 min to another city that has this soupy hot pot!!! Yummmm. Customer service: Honestly one of the best that I have ever experienced being that it is an Asian restaurant!!! This alone says a lot!!! Food: We went for the AYCE, they give you a sheet of paper and just mark the items you want and then they bring out a pot that holds 2 different broths(spicy side, non spicy side) both tasted great. All the items start coming out. Staff was always there every 5 mins. a different waiter/waitress is checking on us to see if everything is ok. Needless to say we will be back… Love this place when it’s cold out!!!

Things of note: $ 30 and under is cash only! 20% discount until end of Mar’13 Although Happy House is sadly gone, it has been replaced with a hot pot place for which I am very excited to write a review. They have both AYCE for $ 20 and individual shabu pots for $ 9.99(8oz meat) and $ 12.99(12 oz meat and certain seafood options) Good: Staff very friendly. Tables were nice and clean. Various individual pots to choose from. AYCE option also had lots of ingredients to order from. Ingredients fresh and plentiful in individual pot. Meat also nicely sliced into just-right thickness. Bad: Having gone on a Wednesday night, no doubt the restaurant was slow, but there was no reason for the service to be lackluster as well. Even though they were friendly and answered my questions, they forgot to bring us the rice and spoon. How would I slurp up the broth without a spoon? There was also no visible sign anywhere that said cash only below $ 30. We only found out after taking out our card and having the waiter meekly telling us that policy. Décor could also use a little sprucing up, since it was a bit bland. All in all, I’m very happy that it’s located in Cerritos, where there aren’t very many hot pot places around without having to drive to Irvine or SGV. Quality of food was also great. I would go back any time and tell all my friends!

My family and I originally decided to try this new hot pot place on a Tuesday. Unfortunately they are closed on a Tuesday, so we decided to come back the next day. The waiter/waitress were pretty attentive and nice, considering how we kept one of the waitress with us for at least 15 mins asking how everything worked. Anyways most of their hot pots range from 9.99 to 12.99 and their all you can eat is 19.89. We ordered beef, spicy Szechuan, and seafood. My most favorite one would be the spicy Szechuan, because the soup was so delicious. Oh and it’s 20% off till march.

I’ve been to a few hot pot restaurants, and thought this one was ok. We marked down foods that we wanted and while we were eating, it felt like things were missing. So we asked the waiter about some things we marked on the sheet, which he informed us at that moment, were not available that night. Would’ve been nice to know so we could order something else to fill us up. Instead, we had to think about what to get, and then wait for that to come out. This place is also fairly new it seems. And they seems a little understaffed. Within 20 minutes of being there, is say 8 – 9 parties had arrived. They were running all around, seemingly flustered at times. All in all, I thought it was an ok experience and have a feeling this place will get better in time. It was very popular. Very nice employees.

This used to be my family’s beloved Happy House restaurant. Out of curiosity I decided to give this new hot pot place a try. This was my first time eating a hot pot style meal. I wish the servers explained things or maybe they should have tips/directions on the wall. Especially on how to put out the fire! Anyways, it was amazzzing. Get the satay sauce and garlic sauce and mix them! I am not sure if I was supposed to drink the broth but it was the best part. I got beef and my boyfriend got lamb. Both were very good. Veggies were nice and fresh too. I will return here for sure. But not without googling“how to eat chinese hot pot” first hah.

The place is new and of course the place is clean because it just opened. Each table has their own personal stove where the hot pot can be cooked. They offer an all you can eat style for the hot pot per person or you can order the selection you want off their item list. The broth they give is one side is spicy and the other using regular non spicy broth. They give you a nice selection of items to pick from for the hot pot. There isn’t nothing like this in the area so it’s a great place to go if you want to enjoy some family time having hot pot at the table. It beats the preparation and cleaning up at your own home. It’s a must try!

Service is attentive, food is good, and prices are about right. On a cold night this really hits the spot! I haven’t tried the All You Can Eat option yet, just tried the individual hotpots. The only complaints I have is that I wish they would turn on some of the vents, add more decorations to increase the ‘niceness’/trendy appeal, and to add more lights for the seats at the edges of the restaurant(the ceiling lights only illuminate the center of the room). I think these few additions would make this place a home run. I think your only other option for hotpot/shabu shabu in the vicinity is Yojie which is great option too. But Yojie is pricier and not chinese style so you don’t get those yinyang bowls with herbal soup. I don’t think Yojie does buffet style either. So I think F and S is a great addition to the Cerritos/Artesia area where I am NOW covered for all my different hotpot needs!
