A friend used to bring home food from here and I LIKED the food. So I went there myself just recently… I cannot stand the smell inside the store. Smelled like one of the parking structures in Santee Alley as if dudes have been peeing on the walls. I still bought some packed bean curds and veggie«meat» but realized I can’t swallow them anymore because of the unhygienic scene and smell that’s forever left in my memory.

This place is amazing because not only do they offer take out and lunch specials but they also got veggie meats you go buy! I really like this company, you can tell its family owned and customer service is really important to them. Make sure you bring cash. Also their chow mein looks small but is actually quite satisfying. Its in an odd location so you need to park in the shopping center parking then walk to the place. When youre inside its very small. I will tell you size does not matter because each time I’ve been here i get what I wanted. Its six dollars for the lunch. Honestly you cant beat that price. Anywhere. I worry how they stay in business but they do. For the lunch its usually brown rice, veggies and a veggie meat. Its really a complete meal. Check this place out.

This was so full of flavor, I’m wondering if they use fish sauce — next time I’ll check about that first. This is more of a deli, no place to sit down. Just take the advice, get the lunch box($ 7.09 after tax), and take your hot meal to a shady spot to enjoy. DEEE-licious!

I have passed this place for years and I must say I have been missing out! I have tried their«lunch box special» about four or five times already and the quality and taste of their food is just delicious. They either have fake chicken or fish, but I prefer the chicken for the texture. Sometimes their veggies are mixed with which I believe is seitan are my favorite. I also tried the Chinese sandwich which I LOVE, but unfortunately my boyfriend did not enjoy this one. They also sell prepackaged vegetarian meats and dishes. I tried their fake bbq or teriyaki pork and it was delicious. I KNOW I have been describing their dishes delicious, BUTITISDELICIOUS! I am also pleased that they sell non-gmo soy protein foods and this is my place to go to now whenever I don’t want to cook. Their lunch boxes sell out so if you are unsure just call and ask ! The lady is nice :) and its cash only

After completely driving by the restaurant because its so non descriptive I made a u-turn and located it next to a strip mall. Whoever said Veggie Delight is a hole in the wall was not kidding. It actually looks like a small market with huge refrigerators. I wanted to order their famous lunch box but was informed that they don’t have any for the entire week. Darn!!! I had to take the Fried rice noodle bowl for $ 4 which was very filling but not what I wanted. Not sure what they actually sell since they were out of the lunch boxes? Buns?

Skyrocket’s in flight, Vegetarian Delight Very easy to pass by, Veggie’s Delight Co.(VDC) is the epitome of a hole in the wall. Look up hole in the wall in an online search(because really, who flips through a dictionary these days?), and you just may see a pic of VDC. Parking in the lot, my eyes spied a taqueria, a Chinese flooring company etc. but, where’s Veggie’s Delight Co. I know it’s somewhere around here. Perhaps it’s located inside the flooring company? «Yeah, I’d like 30 sq. ft. of laminate to go with my order of faux chicken, please.» Fortunately, on the westside of the parking lot, I glanced a building with Chinese writing on the façade. Walking up to the entrance facing 166th St., I knew I had reached my destination. I predetermined I wanted VDC’s $ 6 lunchbox, either fish or chicken. Fish piqued my interest & I ordered that. While waiting, I browsed the prepackaged items for sale– Fried«anchovies» Assorted buns/sandwiches Quickly, my fish lunchbox was ready to go. Fish lunchbox I don’t know what all comprised my fish lunchbox, but I found it to be hearty & good. The fish did have the essence of fish flavor. What kind of fish, you may ask? I dunno. If I wrap my brain around it, I’d say lake trout. When I went to Lake Tahoe, I chartered a fishing trip on the lake and kept the state limit of two lake trout. I had those sent to a nearby restaurant, where they cooked it up for our dinner. So I’d say, yeah, like lake trout, except the consistency was more al dente. Coulda been a larger portion, but what was there was exceptional. The brown/purple rice was filling and everything else complimented the lunchbox. Next time, I would add some chili and/or hot sauce to spice things up. Service was good. Minimal wait, I’m talking a couple minutes. VDC is a strictly to go place, as there are no places to eat. Closed on Sunday & Monday, make sure to bring cash, as VDC is cash only. I don’t mind going vegetarain for a day or two, as long as I have great vegetarian eateries, such as Veggie’s Delight Co., to frequent. Their lunchboxes are cheap, fast, filling &, dare I say, good! I’d love to come back to try their other items. Maybe the chicken lunchbox or the fried anchovies. Definitely come down & try Veggie’s Delight Co. yourself. Just keep your eyes peeled when getting close. Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

This has become a go-to quick lunch pickup spot for us on Saturdays. There’s no menu, so just ask for the«lunch box», and choose«chicken» or «fish». I think the fake chicken tastes better than the fake fish. It’s $ 6.50 per lunch box, but each one can serve two people. Solid deal. Be sure to check their hours because they close early.

Been here for more than a few times in the oast year or so. I was craving somethin healthyish and filling at the same time. You can imagine my delight for my discovery of such a hole in a wall place! Its definitely a must try for you health freaks out there, a good enough size lunch box for $ 6.50 Tip: Bring cash, as they don’t take cards. They are closed on Mondays so plan ahead. Call them to reserve some lunchboxes, as they are limited and run out pretty fairly quick. Its a fairly hidden place where I had to drive around the block a few times to figure out where it is. *if you’re southbound on Pioneer, be ready to turn into the parking lot right after 166th st., then go down until you reach the end where you would hit the side of a building. Goodluck! P.s: keep an open mind

My grandma was visiting me and she is a vegetarian. I Unilocaled vegetarian places and this showed up so decided to give it a try since its got great Unilocal reviews. Anyways so I ordered 3 $ 6 lunch boxes and wasn’t really expecting much. But I am very impressed. The fake meat is actually delish. Mmmmm I’m still thinking about it and actually crave it haha. So its not the fanciest place in the world. Its takeaway only. Its tiny and dingy looking. But its defo worth a try whether you are a vegetarian or not! I’ll be back :)

I decided to challenge myself and eat solely vegetarian food for a whole month. I think I came to the right place to start this whole craziness. This is located at the corner of 166th and Pioneer, right off the 91 fwy. It’s a hole in the wall place worth hunting down. I came in and found out that they do different dishes every day. So no menu. They do offer«fish» and«chicken» dishes daily. So I asked 2 lunch boxes for each. Hoarding for a few days worth of meals here. Then I noticed their sandwich. Having not eaten lunch yet I grabbed one and started nom-nom-ing my way thru. Oh gosh. Party in my mouth! So many flavors in there. Peanut? Pickled veggies maybe? Something that looked like asian ham. Soy skin? After 3 more bites I was done trying to analyze it and just gave way to the inner pig that was raging to come out. Fish/chicken lunch box — lots of brown rice, bokchoy, something on the side that looked like mushroom strips, and something like radish with rolled fish(soy?) cake with their fish or chicken substitute. There was an underlying smokey taste to the mushroom strips. I liked it. It might be an acquired taste for other people but the taste grew on me pretty fast. BTW, cash only. The staff are so nice. Two kids were helping the mom(?) prep the food. That’s how I was raised. Who says I can go to the beach during summer? I’m helping at the family bizniz, yo! On my way out, the boys(okay, young men. I bet they don’t wanna be called boys) offered to help me to the car. I really must’ve bought a lot of food for them to offer. I. Am. A. Fatty. But I was good. I’ll definitely be back for more.

Delicious veggie food to-go served by kind and happy people. What more could you ask for?! While you’re here, stock up on veggie ham logs, healthy snacks and mock meat supplies. My boyfriend and I are only rarely in the neighborhood, but when we are, we head over here and buy pounds and pounds of delicious Taiwanese vegan goodies to eat throughout the week. Yum!

WOOOOWW! Don’t judge it by its looks. They have GREAT food. Pros: 1. The«meat» and«fish» look and taste like the real thing. When I first bit into it, I thought they accidentally put real meal/fish into my food. But nope! It’s vegan yo! 2. There’s a HUGELOT right next to them, so you don’t have to worry about parking. By the way, parking is free at that lot. 3. They have already prepared vegan«meat,» «fish,» and buns in their fridge. So if you want to take their delicious food home you can just buy those and eat them at home. 4. FAST service. I barely waited 5 minutes and my food was already there. 5. CHEAPFOOD! The lunch box is about $ 6 and it’s a full on meal. You won’t feel hungry after. In fact, i’m not sure if you can even finish it. I think it should count as 2 meals because they give you A LOT of FOOD. Cons: 1. Not so much a con as it is a request. PLEASE have some more items on the menu. So far there’s only two options. A lunch set meal and buns, but I would definitely love to try more Taiwanese vegan food. :) Request: If anyone from Veggie’s Delight Co is watching this, please listen to these requests. 1. Please extend your open hours until at least 11pm. My friends and I are night owls so we would LOVE to get some of your food at night. 2. Please set up a branch in the Long Beach area. There’s a lot of vegans/vegetarians there that would love to try your food. ;)

Amazing!!! Healthy, delicious, inexpensive, Taiwanese, vegan food!(I should know, since I’m Taiwanese). Just ask for the daily lunch box, which is $ 6 and includes brown-purple rice with 5 tasty dishes. The dishes are cooked well without a lot of oil, and includes several colors and types of vegetables(mushrooms, carrots, daikon/radish, lotus root, fake fish/chicken, green beans, lettuce, tofu, etc) that are cooked in a variety of ways(braised, lightly steamed, sauteed, etc). A rainbow delight of flavors. They also have some prepackaged stuff like rice noodles, buns, various side dishes as well as packaged dry goods(even white lotus!). I’m so glad I found a healthy place for lunch — thanks Unilocalers!

a re-review as promised.(initial visit here was met with a dismayed closed doors) note that this business is CLOSEDONSUNDAYANDMONDAYS(alerted Unilocal but we’ll see how long it takes for that information to change). that was my gripe earlier. but hey~ i’m baccck! :) it’s a cute little shop. stand alone. and definitely in the /appears to be ghetto. I’d say the front portion of the shop is akin to taking an arm’s length of space of a Ranch 99 market and stocking it with vegan/vegetarian friendly items. They had some noodles, teas, frozen«vege“meats… etc. They also have a freezer with some items they made in house. The rest of the business is a kitchen. run by the cutest older chinese lady, a man who appears to be her husband and a mexican helper.(again my love for smiley grandmas) the lady is SO sweet. and yes~ she speaks english. The lunch boxes are made to order and there is usually only one type of box available with the option of «meat». Today’s was rice with veggie, tofu of different varieties, and fish or chicken. [ I think she threw in some chicken cuz it tastes like chicken? the fish is as close to fish you can get without it being real. texture is different but if i close my eyes~ i could imagine fish. everything is extremely well flavored. the rice is yummy, the sauces and the veggies and tofu all great with different textures. if i could eat from here every day i could imagine 95% likely chance of becoming vegetarian. lunch box packed full and only 6 bucks. definitely worth it and there’s some love and care tucked into this cooking. i also got a taro bun and something else that says rice cake with mushrooms from the freezer but we’ll see how they go. they look delicious. i did see the bag of chinese buns. i will definitely be back to pick some up. it’s the steamed fluffy chinese buns with different fillings. [*updated later* the taro bun was soo good! it’s like creamy taro paste with flakey pastry. just naturally sweet with the taro and just right. soo yum. i want another] if you’re vegan/vegetarian and not wanting indian food(the other main option in the cerritos area). definitely make a stop here. it tastes like home cooking with all the healthy flare. recommended. will return.

This place is like«The Joy of Vegetarian Food» — I hear angels singing when I enter the tiny vegetarian/vegan shop. It smells SOGOOD when you walk in. Come for prepared foods — I mean, well-prepared vegetarian & vegan food. The shop owner is super sweet — we love talking to her. I’m happy the store carries some old-school Taiwanese/Chinese favorites. For example, I was thoroughly amused by the«Jelly-Ball with Veggie Pork» because I just had some of that in non-vegetarian form at a night market in Taiwan last week.
