I hired Doug to install two attic fans, each one in a different attic. What I liked: — He was early, which was impressive considering we had a pretty good snowstorm the day of our appointment. — He was very nice and exceedingly polite. Very much appreciated.0 — He worked on the wiring without turning off the power!(exciting, right?) — The price was very fair — he came highly recommended and the price he charged me was at the lower end of the range of quotes I got. The only reason I can’t give Doug five stars is that he worked on my house with the power on. Even though he’s been an electrician for 20+ years, and even though everything went perfectly fine, what would I have done if he had hurt himself? I’d much rather lose power for a couple of hours than have him take this risk… but, like I said, it worked out just fine, so maybe I’m worried for nothing. And, truth be told, if I had asked him to shut off the power before working he would have done so. I didn’t even think of it until he was wiring up the 2nd fan. Overall, I recommend calling him up. He says he likes working on existing homes, and if you’re worried about him working on live wires like I was, you could probably ask him to turn off the electricity and he’d do it with a smile. He’s that nice.
